@jandrese So that’s happened to you as well eh? Buy the watch, uses some dodgy 3rd party software, never pairs to the phone, then when Android updates, the app vanishes from the store and can’t even run on your phone.
@AaronLeeJohnson@jandrese I got a watch in a Fuku & now I have no app, except on an old phone, & maybe there’s a way to get the app off the old phone & onto my new phone, or I could just pay $25 for this and skip the old watch. But the old one was a real watch with a text window, so there was that…
@andymand@jandrese@Kyser_SozeFYI, this particular Aukey smart watch uses the Aukey Fit Pro app, not the Aukey Watch Mate app. Sorry to mislead you all.
@cfg83@werehatrack Gorilla Glue is considered vegan and cruelty-free.
Unlike traditional “hide glues” that are made from animal collagen (typically from horses or cows), modern synthetic adhesives like Gorilla Glue use chemical polymers not animal ingredients.
Key Highlights: No Animal Ingredients; (claimed) “Cruelty-Free”, but no.
Basically, Gorilla Glue is Non-biodegradable Petroleum based Pleather, then.
Animals, and animals dying, is the epitome of ‘natural’.
Vegan is not.
@ciabelle That’s a really important consideration for me. I gave up on a Fitbit and a different one that were entirely unreadable in anything brighter than deep shade.
@werehatrack I have a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 and it gets SUPER bright (I’m in FL, never had an issue in sunlight). Bonus - switching bands is a couple clicks, and there’s a million options out there from a couple bucks to fancy exotic metals.
Arguably app syncing (outside of the native app, which is fine) has been a problem, but that’s more because: Android than it is the device / device manufacturer.
@mbstringham I’d bet that this is with a minimal number of features running. I had one which made similar claims until the pulse monitor and oxygenation sensor were enabled. With those running, it was suddenly more like 3 days, and needed an overnight charge.
@mbstringham@werehatrack I don’t think this is an upgrade from my Amazfit GTS 4, which actually does have a long battery life like it claims. Kinda tempting to switch out watches though.
@mbstringham@pskemp2 It comes with a wireless charger, a small disc type that looks like the ones used with Apple watches. Note that it is not Qi compatible. Take good care of it! I have yet to find a place that sells them separately. I can’t even find a used one on eBay.
@cfg83, with the SW2 from saturnfans? If so, small internet. Your pics from the ecomodder 5th gear swap post have disappeared. I was trying to show a newbie on reddit what it was about. Cheers!
@cfg83 Good to see you out and about! Great loss for the community when Charlie let Saturnfans domain expire, lots of info lost. Thanks for the pic, will share it on the reddit sub
@alordofchaos Yeah, I went to the wayback machine to try to get saturnfans stuff after I found out, but that was just a thin layer, not the whole thing. I would like to think Charlie has a copy of everything … somewhere. He should sell car-model subforums on flash drives. I would but the s-series sub forum.
@cfg83 That’s a great idea, I’d also grab the S series subforums. I was logging and documenting a bunch of stuff there, including repair items / pics /tools needed in the “what did you do to your saturn today” thread. Nobody seems to be able to get a hold of him, though. I thought I had emailed him but it all went through saturnfans. Others mentioned buying / taking over saturnfans but those never ended up going anywhere
@alordofchaos Yes, I never knew who Charlie was, but if he is still out there, then someone should find him and see if the data can be retrieved.
The sad thing about the Saturn S-Series is that it will probably never get the nostalgia fever that cars like the Corvair got. The saturnfans website with repair vets like OldNuc were providing a virtual “Corvair Car Club” for the Saturn S-Series. I keep mentioning Corvair because you can argue that the the Saturn S-Series was the spiritual successor to the Corvair.
I don’t talk about about the other Saturn models because they were a story of diminishing returns. The only 100% Saturns were the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen S-Series.
sigh
/showme Anthropomorphized goat looking fondly at car brand Saturn that nobody else in their right mind would care about.
@cfg83 The worst part IMO is that losing saturnfans will speed the loss of more Saturns, as the info needed to keep them going is lost. Literally decades of experience and pictures. Fixes for rare issues, ghetto repairs, and whacky, “I wonder if you can do this with a saturn” followed by someone who did just that or at least tried to.
There are other forums but they don’t have the depth that saturnfans did, and aren’t as . . . nice and friendly, I guess. Low Saturn (whose differentracing site is also gone) told me he ended up on saturnfans because he got banned from another forum for correcting the mod.
eta, the mediocrebot did a great job of creating the pic!
@alordofchaos Ok, one more thing that is VERY tangential to Saturn the car and Saturn the planet. I wanted to find a cool Saturn commercial, but instead I found a mini-documentary :
HOWEVER, the documentary narrator reminded me of this little edu-series, “Project Universe” :
The narrators sound soooooo close. Until proven otherwise, I have decided that the narrator is one and the same.
@alordofchaos@cfg83 Ok, the narrator was Aaron Fletcher. One of my all time favorites. So much nostalgia, so little time left to repave those neuron pathways!
@barchie@haydesigner@mediocrebot@troy I downloaded the XAPK file for the Aukey Watch Mate app for Android from the APKPure website here. The website mentions APRKPure’s app that loads XAPK files onto an Android device, but there are also other apps out there to do that.
@ItalianScallion Oh my goodness, don’t even give it another thought! We were both operating under incomplete information. I’m excited to try out my $25 “smart” watch as I’m sure you are as well!
Thank you for your research into the charger. I’ll try to be sure to keep it from my cord munching cat.
@2many2no@therealjrn Mixed reviews in the Android Play Store. Seems to be some connectivity issues, but that could be user error. No watch face customization.
@2many2no@heartny Hm…no watch face customization is very disappointing, I suppose until I get it into my greasy hand I won’t know. But the video clearly shows different watch faces.
@2many2no@therealjrn Regarding the watch face image, Aukey provides a bunch of images to choose from or you can make a custom watch face. You can choose the background image, choose from a few analog watch hand configurations, and place step count, heart rate, calories burned, and/or distance on the image and choose colors for the previous four items. There is basically only one digital clock numbers choice. That’s it.
@kus@mycya4me The biggest problem with Apple Watch is that it’s incompatible with Apple products.
You cannot set up using Apple Watch even if you have:
@Ark_kun@kus What are you talking about?? I have MBP 2023 (it also work fine with my MBP mid 2025, before it died) Works great with iPhone 12 (& the 6S I had) even with my iPad (old)
The Watch & iPhone are synced (like they are one device)
I can answer a call on ANY of my devices!
It is all seamless.
Oh BTW I do use the health features. I did get one of the Cheaper AliExpress early knockoffs. it was Really cheap, never used it.
I was using another fitness tracker… then it died. That is when I picked up an Open Box iWatch.
I don’t buy NIB “New In BOX” way too costly! ONLY Open Box, Refreb & with my MBP it is a Used Refreb. Plus Apple has the best Securty & seamless integration. You see I have been 2nd level Computer Hardware tech for over 20+ years (yes mostly WinDoze) & on the side too!
@mycya4me Ah… Apple users are as defensive as ever… I’m not sure you’ve read my post.
Anyways:
At my home I have a Macbook Pro M4 and iPad Pro with a cellular connection.
Suppose I also have a $10+k Mac studio, a Mac mini, Apple Home, and an iMac.
Suppose I buy Apple Watch (with cellular connection).
How much are you willing to bet you’ll be able to set up Apple Watch using the expensive Apple devices at my home?
@Ark_kun Yes I have an iWatch, wifi/Bluetooth only (series 9) as is my is my old iPad (5th Gen) The only thing I have that was bought Brand New was the iPod mini speaker (it was a Christmas present from my Mom) You must not have read that All Apple hardware is bought as Open Box, Referb or plan along used. It is so much cheaper, at the same price or lower than Most Android hardware. You must not have read that I am also a Computer Repair tech. Mostly corporate, So I know a lot about Hardware failures & how long hardware last too! I am always hearing in Tech newsletters how buggy & how many patches is needed for other hardware just to keep it up & running & secure.
I prefer computer hardware that Just Works without a lot of work I have to put into it.
Oh BTW I was using my iWatch, iPad ect with my MacBookPro (MBP) early 2015 (it was already 5-6 years old when I got it) It died last year. it was Video issues. It was NOT worth fixing. So my Current MBP is a M2 Pro (they are now up to M4 Pro) I don’t need the most current hardware!
@Ark_kun OH BTW It would be quite easy to set up you hardware with Cheaper Open Box/ Refreb Apple hardware. (that is really the only way to get Apple Hardware)
Just go into a Best Buy, Ebay/ Amazon & look at the prices.
But hey if you need the latest & greatest go for it.
For me & my limited Fixed income (Social Securty) I will not be buying the news stuff.
Yes I would LOVE to have one of the “new” Apple VR goggles. But it is too $$$ for me.
I also have a Couple cheaper (single color) 3d printers, Ham/ Amateur Radio hardware. Attend SciFI cons (only a couple a year … I got to watch the $$ Plus to make them cheaper I Volunteer for them too)
@mycya4me I see. Interesting.
Anyways, the issue with Apple watch is that it absolutely requires an iPhone to set up. The first step is “To set up and use an Apple Watch, you need iPhone XS or later with iOS 18 or later.” https://support.apple.com/en-us/109015
All those other Apple products (iPad Pro, Macbook Pro, Mac Studio) are not supported.
Also see a random thread where people pile up to tell someone how silly he is to even think of a stupid idea like setting up Apple Watch while only having an iPad: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254910198
Many other smartwatches are self-sufficient. But Apple Watch, despite having the technical capabilities cannot be set up without iPhone. Apple is stubborn like that.
And I’m stubborn in my own way: I refuse to support semi-artificial limitations like that with my wallet.
I do respect some of Apple’s aspects like increased focus on privacy and the power efficiency of their M-series chips, but sadly not how they handle Apple Watch.
@Ark_kun I have no problem with it! I like that the iWatch is a seamless integration with the iPhone! They are nearly like one device! You can also answer calls on any of your devices.
As I said I Don’t buy New In Box, only Open Box, refers or plain along used.
The last “New” Apple items I got was my 1st iPhone 5 & 6, A friend gave me his older 6s, then I got the 12 (Refreb) Yes the Christmas present from my Mom the HomePod mini speaker (I could really go for the Original HomePod, was too much money!
I don’t use the watch for Apple Pay (although I do with the iPhone)
As I also said I will not be buying any Android based products due to security issues.
Plus as I said the Price of the said Apple products as Open Box/ Refreb is pretty much the same as the Non apple stuff.
Plus you get better Securty. For me Security Matter a lot! Plus Apple products work, why else has everyone tried to be like Apple?
The ONLY O/S that is better could be Unix/Linux Btw Apple O/S is a unix/linux port.
@emeraldcateyez@therealjrn The user manual says it’s compatible with Android 5 or later and iOS 12 or later. Charging is not compatible with Qi or Qi2.
@jnicholson0619 The hippos at Brookfield Zoo used to back up to the bars in their enclosure and do that. Except they sprayed dung. Visitors would really scatter. I wonder if they did that for entertainment.
The zoo eventually put up a “sneeze guard” to protect visitors.
Fun fact: Hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal except the mosquito.
@pskemp2 It is not Qi compatible, so you need the Aukey wireless charger which – surprise! – doesn’t seem to be available anywhere except in the package with the watch.
This has a zinc alloy frame but it does not state whether it contains nickel and I could not find out on the manufacturer’s site. That is a no go for me.
@mycya4me Considering that it is the first and most expensive watch shown on Aukey’s web store, it would presumably be the last of their smart watches that they would discontinue and/or drop support for. Then again, the watch is available at a whole bunch of places at a price much lower than their web store.
want the mostest BEST watch ever?
Citizen eco-drive. Period. no battery, no winding, no shaking, nuttin’ but expose it to some light once in a while, like while you wear it. I leave mine in a west-facing window where the cats can’t get at it when not wearing it - runs 30 DAYS in the dark, too.
I own two of them, still running, after 30+ YEARS. never loses a second.
Who needs ‘smart (ass)’ when you can have no-fuss accuracy.
I had one I gifted to my brother. Eco-Drive Titanium. After a few years it wouldn’t hold a charge. $20 capacitor fixed it. Required a $15 tool set, if you don’t already have it and don’t want to pay a jeweler a few dollars. Going strong since then.
Some things will last forever I is your are willing to fix them. Citizen is one.
My more than decade old Casio Pro Trek is similar. Solar battery.
And gets the time from a satellite sensor.
So battery never runs out and time is always correct. Or something.
Seems to work great.
It will not, however, tell you that you just died (after which your ghost looks at your wrist and notices indications of a heart attack followed by no pulse at all.)
So it won’t do everything an Apple Watch, or a Watch OS, or a Garmin or Coros or Fitbit etc will do.
In spite of them saying it can’t turn back time, I ordered one anyway.
/showme futile-wistful-queen
And I downloaded the XAPK for the Aukey Watch Mate app for safekeeping in case it ever disappears from the Google Play store. I’m hoping it doesn’t need to go out to some Aukey server(s) to do something, in case it (they) disappear some day.
I’m hanging my head with embarrassment. This particular Aukey smart watch uses the Aukey Fit Pro app, not the Aukey Watch Mate app. Sorry to mislead you all.
Anybody wanna buy a Martian Voice watch I got here some years ago? It’s non-functioning, but the time is correct twice a day. Only $50 plus $6 shipping…
@MrNews I still have one that works, but I need to trans fer the app to my new phone now that somebody above showed me a way! BTW, I bought one of these because they do so much more!
@brainmist@Kyeh@MrNews I have 2 Martian watches, a C-Max Chrono-Max Smartwatch, an Empower Fit Pro Smartwatch and a WeurGhy Smart Watch. Haven’t tried to use any of them because my FitBit still works.
@heartny@Kyeh@Kyser_Soze@cprimrose
I’ve had a Samsung Galaxy 6 Classic for awhile now. It integrates superbly with my phone (S23+) and I love the rotating bezel. I wear it 22 hours/day; it charges 8-10 pm daily.
@jmrobinett@therealjrn The user manual is focused more on Android, but it does mention iPhone under Bluetooth pairing, so presumable the app is available in the Apple store.
@Ceichen72@troy Yeah, but good luck if the charger breaks or you want a spare one. I’ve search high and low and can’t find one for sale, new or used, anywhere.
Not sure if it’ll work, but I think it should since Aukey sells the watch with a Qi charger, I ordered a phone/watch/accessory combo charger for $17 from Woot @ https://tinyurl.com/4sknzfkc
@Kyser_Soze It comes with its own wireless charger, but I haven’t been able to find anything anywhere that indicates if it’s a QI-compatible charger or not. What I saw on aukey.com was that they recommend the watch and one of their QI2 chargers to be purchased together, even though a wireless charger is included with the watch. That would imply that the watch is QI-compatible.
@Kyser_Soze Ah, but Aukey replied to me inquiry and said that it is not Qi compatible. Weird that they would say that the watch and a Qi2 charger are “frequently bought together.” Since they were kicked off Amazon, likely for fake reviews as many people have said, that could be fake as well.
@Kyser_Soze I loved the watch but my dog chewed up the charging puck and I have been on a quest to get a replacement. I have gotten ZERO help from Aukey. They hint that there are 3rd party chargers available but then say that the ones for Samsung and Huawei watches are not compatible. They do say the watch is NOT QI-compatible. The Aukey site in Singapore does have them for sale, but they don’t deliver to the USA.
@gshell I’ve been looking for the Woot Qi charger but it never showed up. I was getting so many emails from Woot that I had re-routed them to their own folder & when I looked in there I found they had canceled my order a while back, so I’ll never know if it would’ve worked.
I think these were so cheap on meh because they were discontinued, so getting a new charger may be impossible, unfortunately, but good luck.
I’ve seen some cool looking smart watches on Amazon since getting this watch, if your looking for a replacement.
I received my Aukey SW2 Ultra today. The first thing I want to say is that there are numerous watch face options, including the ability to do a custom one. I have not tried the custom option, but I was able to sync one of the other choices. I have been able to download the app, connect, and pair the watch to my iPhone, and go through the set up options, I haven’t done much else yet because it says to charge it for 2 hours. So I’m doing that now.
@jmrobinett The custom watch face feature seems to work fine, but it’s limited in what you can put on the watch face. For example, you can only put steps, heart rate, calories, distance, and date/time on it. Notably missing is charge level. You can put your own background image, but I haven’t tried that.
Mine arrived today and I’ve charged it, synched it & changed a few faces. I have to say it’s better than I thought it would be. I should’ve bought a few of them! Now I’m gonna feel guilty if I don’t exercise more often (or at all).
Is anyone else having trouble getting their watch to fully charge? First it was stuck at 20% charge. I did a reset and the watch immediately showed it was at about 40% charged. Now it seems to be stuck at 60% and this is after hours on the charger that came with it. I’m beginning to suspect that the percent-charged calculation needs to be thoroughly reset somehow and I’m not sure that the reset setting is doing a factory reset that might fix this.
Since the user manual is so deficient in explaining things, I wish I could find a discussion group. Anyone know of one? r/Aukey and r/OfficialAUKEY don’t have much of anything about this watch in them.
@Kyser_Soze I figured it out. I’m embarrassed to say I’m embarrassed for the second time, and in the same thread. I had to flip over the charging disc, at which point I got a “charging” message displayed on the watch. It’s not the flat side that goes against the watch; it’s the other side. In my (weak) defense, I will note that the diagram in the user manual shows the flat side facing up. Anyway, case closed.
Also of note, I don’t get the charging message when I put the watch on my lamp with built-in Qi charging in its base. Seems like the watch is not Qi compatible.
@ItalianScallion That’s too bad. I bought a combo Qi charging unit from Woot that charges a phone, watch & wireless headphones at the same time. It was cheap, so it’s not like I broke the bank buying it! It’s not here yet. It would’ve replaced my current phone only charger, but not now.
My 1st night with the watch I was able to track my sleep, the next 2 nights I haven’t been able to. I guess I’m gonna have to try to read the tiny print instruction booklet!
@ItalianScallion I am trying to get a replacement charge (damn dog chewed mine). Aukey is less than helpful. They say there are 3rd part options but only tell me the Samsung and Huawei watch chargers are not compatible, nothing about what is.
I do know it must magnetically couple to the watch.
@gshell I’m uinimpressed with Aukey customer service. They seem to know only what’s on their web page and maybe also in their poor excuse for a user manual.
@gshell I wasn’t able to find the Aukey charger for sale anywhere, except r with the watch, anywhere after searching and searching the internet. I’m wondering if an iPhone charger might work – I don’t think those chargers are Qi-compliant. Also, Meh put up Verbatim Charge ‘n’ Go Magnetic Wireless Power Banks a little while ago that are not Qi-compliant (or they presumably would have said that), so they might work.
My watch will not detect my sleep time. I contacted aukey for technical support after trying all the fixes online. Here is their response:
"Dear customer,
We are sorry for the inconvenience,
But you didn’t buy it from official website, and we can’t find your purchase record.
We suggest that you contact the corresponding seller directly through the purchased platform to provide you with technical support.
Sincerely, "
I will never buy another aukey product. This is terrible.
@gmerilli I’ve noticed that if I wear it loosely, it doesn’t do a good job of sleep detection but if I wear it tight, it does. It detected my sleep last night, but failed to transfer the data to my phone! Watch was tight. Strange results. No way that I see to force a data transfer.
I was having the same problem, so I started wearing it more snugly. I might be allergec to vegans because my wrist broke out where the band was…:sad trombone:

Is this thing tied to some cloud service that is going to be shut down in a couple of months?
@jandrese So that’s happened to you as well eh? Buy the watch, uses some dodgy 3rd party software, never pairs to the phone, then when Android updates, the app vanishes from the store and can’t even run on your phone.

@Kyser_Soze
Martian?
@Kyser_Soze – I’ve used this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.toralabs.apkextractor&hl=en_US to pull abandoned APKs from an old phone and install to a new one. Of course, as soon as the app runs afoul of some OS update, game over, but until then, cool?
And if it’s iOS, sorry, no idea.
@andymand @Kyser_Soze @jandrese I downloaded the XAPK file for the Aukey Watch Mate app for Android from the APKPure website here.
@chienfou Yes! It is a Martian!
@andymand @jandrese @Kyser_Soze FYI, this particular Aukey smart watch uses the Aukey Fit Pro app, not the Aukey Watch Mate app. Sorry to mislead you all.
@andymand @jandrese @Kyser_Soze I have been using mine without a login to the Aukey server(s), so I’m presuming it doesn’t use “the cloud” for anything.
Remember when we had to wear $100+ chest strap just to get our heart rate?
@haydesigner
Nope… Never wore a strap on.
@chienfou @haydesigner No? You have been missing out!

@Cerridwyn Apparently so.
Vegan watch strap?
Why would I want to eat the watch strap? How could I wear the watch without a watch strap?
@cfg83
Maybe tomorrow’s deal will be a stapler.
@cfg83 @yakkoTDI Gorilla glue.
@werehatrack this is why Meh sold Alien Tape a while back.
@haydesigner @werehatrack

@mbstringham @pskemp2 It comes with a wireless charger, a small disc type that looks like the ones used with Apple watches.

Cheers!
@alordofchaos Yup, that’s me. Here is the new 5th gear when it was installed. Count the teeth! :

@cfg83 Here’s the image you requested for “Anthropomorphized goat looking fondly at car brand Saturn that nobody else in their right mind wo…”

@alordofchaos @cfg83 Ok, the narrator was Aaron Fletcher. One of my all time favorites. So much nostalgia, so little time left to repave those neuron pathways!
@cfg83 Thanks for the vids! I will check out both soon. I’m retiring this week and should have plenty of spare time soon to catch up on everything.

Sorry to mislead you, @therealjrn, but this watch uses the Aukey Fit Pro app, not the Watch Mate app. You can download the APK file here

What app does this require?
Link to app?
@2many2no I think it needs something called the “AUKEY FIT Pro APP”
@2many2no @therealjrn Mixed reviews in the Android Play Store. Seems to be some connectivity issues, but that could be user error. No watch face customization.
@2many2no @heartny Hm…no watch face customization is very disappointing, I suppose until I get it into my greasy hand I won’t know. But the video clearly shows different watch faces.
I trust meh to honor the 90/21 day warranty.
@heartny @therealjrn
As a side note:
https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/aukey-and-mpow-accessories-disappear-from-amazon/
@2many2no @heartny
Yikes! That isn’t a good sign, is it.
@2many2no @therealjrn I’m assuming it uses the Aukey Watch Mate app. Its latest version is from November 2025.
@2many2no @therealjrn And… I was wrong. Sorry about that. This particular Aukey smart watch uses the Aukey Fit Pro app, not the Aukey Watch Mate app.
@2many2no @therealjrn Regarding the watch face image, Aukey provides a bunch of images to choose from or you can make a custom watch face. You can choose the background image, choose from a few analog watch hand configurations, and place step count, heart rate, calories burned, and/or distance on the image and choose colors for the previous four items. There is basically only one digital clock numbers choice. That’s it.
I am, as always, tempted by a cheapass smartwatch…
You had me at cheap ass, @brainmist.
@brainmist I tried to get one of those “ cheapa$$”smart watches from one of those Chinese online sites 5+years ago… I wished I had saved my money.
@brainmist @therealjrn Just steer clear of the smartass cheapwatches…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that… the inverse, on the other hand, is a plague.
I think people conflate the synonyms “wary” and “leery” and settle on a midpoint which is unrelated to either.
@agnesnutter
I believe it was a reference to the line directly above that one in the ad copy.
@chienfou oops
@agnesnutter @chienfou Is the midpoint “weery” or “lary”?
@agnesnutter @chienfou @ItalianScallion It’s entirely possible to be both weary & wary. 🫤
The biggest problem I have with my non apple smart watches is they drain the battery on my phone.
@kus Sad, get a open box/ referb Apple Watch, you can get them for 1/3- 1/2 off. My current one is a Series 9. That was near the end of the model year
@kus @mycya4me The biggest problem with Apple Watch is that it’s incompatible with Apple products.
You cannot set up using Apple Watch even if you have:
Etc
@Ark_kun @kus @mycya4me
And unless one buys an ultra, the Apple Watch battery sucks if you use the health features.
@Ark_kun @kus What are you talking about??
@Ark_kun @f00l @kus I have never found that to be true!
Attend SciFI cons (only a couple a year … I got to watch the $$ Plus to make them cheaper I Volunteer for them too)
@mycya4me I see. Interesting.
Also see a random thread where people pile up to tell someone how silly he is to even think of a stupid idea like setting up Apple Watch while only having an iPad:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254910198
At that price, it’s just right for kids. I don’t think I’ll replace my Watch7 with this one, though.
What is it compatible with?? Haven’t found the info.
@emeraldcateyez It’s compatable with telling time silly!
Odd that they don’t mentuon it huh. I’m pretty sure it’s probably ok with iPhones and Android via their app.
@emeraldcateyez @therealjrn The user manual says it’s compatible with Android 5 or later and iOS 12 or later. Charging is not compatible with Qi or Qi2.
The Aukey site says it comes with two straps. Black and brown.
Does this one?
@captkirkstny yes
Does Jason Toon do the write-ups on all of these? How do I follow the person that does?
@ckcarlton I’m pretty sure it is one @dseanadams for the writeup blurbs.
Mr Adams is a published author as well, here’s an interesting book!

Jason Toon writes the consumer articles that they email out.

@jnicholson0619
that IS gross!
@jnicholson0619 Sorry, I hope you don’t mind, I re-rolled the dice on your order number image.

I wonder if this will charge on any Qi charger or must it be a magnetic type?
@pskemp2 It is not Qi compatible, so you need the Aukey wireless charger which – surprise! – doesn’t seem to be available anywhere except in the package with the watch.
This has a zinc alloy frame but it does not state whether it contains nickel and I could not find out on the manufacturer’s site. That is a no go for me.
I guess t is like the Pebble smart watch, soon to be of production.
@mycya4me or of not production
¯\(ツ)/¯
@mycya4me pebble just came back. Better than ever. So yeah I would skip this one.
@icerc WOW that is news. But I still would not get one!
@mycya4me Considering that it is the first and most expensive watch shown on Aukey’s web store, it would presumably be the last of their smart watches that they would discontinue and/or drop support for. Then again, the watch is available at a whole bunch of places at a price much lower than their web store.
Anyone know if this would work with Strava?
So this item does not include a charger?
@Kirstinella Yes, I think it does, a little round perch.
@Kirstinella @therealjrn It includes a disc type wireless charger. Note that the watch is not Qi compatible.
Anyone know the lug size?

Citizen eco-drive. Period. no battery, no winding, no shaking, nuttin’ but expose it to some light once in a while, like while you wear it. I leave mine in a west-facing window where the cats can’t get at it when not wearing it - runs 30 DAYS in the dark, too.
I own two of them, still running, after 30+ YEARS. never loses a second.
Who needs ‘smart (ass)’ when you can have no-fuss accuracy.
@JohnQ118 You ain’t lying are you. I’ve heard good things about those.
@JohnQ118 I’ve got an Elgin I received as a gift in 1998. It has a Citizen EcoDrive mechanism in it. I still wear it.
@JohnQ118 I think I got one of those for my Dad. You’re right, they are the OG Energizer bunny watches.
@JohnQ118
@f00l @JohnQ118 @BigNooch
Do those things actually run off energy stored in capacitors or batteries?
In spite of them saying it can’t turn back time, I ordered one anyway.

@Ceichen72 Yes, it comes with a wireless charger… with an unreasonably short cord. No indication that it is or is not QI compatible.
@Ceichen72 Update: Aukey Customer Service said the watch is not Qi or Qi2 compatible.
Weird. This offer seems to still be open.
@brainmist Indeed it is. I’ve noticed meh has been doing that lately, leaving the order window open for a day or three.
I like it.
@brainmist @therealjrn That has been going on for years.
Late to the party, just purchased this on a whim, then realized I didn’t check compatibility with iPhone. Can’t find that info. Anyone know?
The consensus is they probably are thru the Aukey app.
@jmrobinett @therealjrn The user manual is focused more on Android, but it does mention iPhone under Bluetooth pairing, so presumable the app is available in the Apple store.
Does this watch come with a charger?
@Ceichen72 Yes it does
@Ceichen72 @troy Yeah, but good luck if the charger breaks or you want a spare one. I’ve search high and low and can’t find one for sale, new or used, anywhere.
Thank you Troy!
If I placed my order on Friday January 23rd, why can I expect for it to be shipped out?
@Ceichen72

when is my watch coming
@user28879615 You should try reading the description.
I could have walked there and picked this thing up by now.
So here it is, February 2nd, 2026 and my Aukey watch is here, lovingly delivered by a uniformed, federal employee.
I’m letting it charge for 2 hours, as suggested in the accompanying owner’s manual.
Mine arrived today and I’ve charged it, synched it & changed a few faces. I have to say it’s better than I thought it would be. I should’ve bought a few of them! Now I’m gonna feel guilty if I don’t exercise more often (or at all).
@Kyser_Soze A Google search will show that these watches are for sale on many websites for the same price as here at Meh, should Meh run out of them.
@ItalianScallion Mine is still showing 100% after using it 2 days…
@Kyser_Soze I figured it out. I’m embarrassed to say I’m embarrassed for the second time, and in the same thread.
I had to flip over the charging disc, at which point I got a “charging” message displayed on the watch. It’s not the flat side that goes against the watch; it’s the other side. In my (weak) defense, I will note that the diagram in the user manual shows the flat side facing up. Anyway, case closed.
Also of note, I don’t get the charging message when I put the watch on my lamp with built-in Qi charging in its base. Seems like the watch is not Qi compatible.
Regarding Qi charging, I got a reply from Aukey Customer Service: this watch does not support Qi or Qi2 charging.
@gmerilli Mine is hit and miss on sleep time. Some days it gets it. Some days 0 hours. Some days 2 hours.
@gmerilli @gshell Mine is hit & miss also. It’s not a defect, it’s a feature! Oh well, it was only $25!
Yeah only $25, but disappointing that AUKEY will not even attempt to trouble shoot. I will not but AUKEY again even if it is only $25.
Something went terribly wrong. Please try again.
@gmerilli
I was having the same problem, so I started wearing it more snugly. I might be allergec to vegans because my wrist broke out where the band was…:sad trombone:
