I teach college writing and let’s just say that I look like a nice white lady English teacher. I always ask my students for song requests for background music while they work. A student smirked and asked me to play some metal, making assumptions about my music taste. I immediately put on one of my favorite albums by Russian Circles and got a nod of approval and a declaration that this was now his favorite class. That’s right, I’m winning over students through post-metal.
I do not like heavy metal. A giant cast iron ring part of a transmission part fell off the back of a flat bed truck at 60mph on a country road and hit my car. He had no license plate and drove off.
Now if it was real gold heavy metal - I’ll take a ton or so. I won’t be greedy. I’ll leave some for others.
Since I work in a metal recycling facility, I’d be remiss if I didn’t proclaim my love for heavy metal!! (We process on average 5000 Tons of the stuff each month!)
Also a major fan of the music…that came before my association with my employer though. Everything from the classics: KISS, Zeppelin right on through the Big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax) and a few more that have come on in recent years (H.E.A.T from Sweden RAWK!!) you can count me IN!!
Do you like heavy metal?
@2many2no Hah, yeah - be prepared for the emails promoting teeshirts based on your answers.
Only if I have suitable chelating agents available.
Particularly the Lanthanide series, yes.
Gold, Platinum, Iridium, Uranium, and the trans Uranium elements.
@bgammill Is gold (Au) a heavy element?
@bgammill There should be a Hair band named The Trans Uraniums.
/youtube sammy hagar heavy metal
@haydesigner
I love Sammy and don’t consider that heavy metal, I think that’s just rock. I think of heavy metal more on the lines of pantera.
Some of it.
This kind of heavy metal, yes:
Iron Maiden - Paschendale (sic)
Leo Moraccioli (Frog Leap Studios) singing Meshiggah’s New Millennium Cyanide Christ
(Rob Scallon on shovel)
