@placecm it actually does still work! But it’s missing all of the parts I’d need to actually use it to suck up anything. I found some parts online but they were so expensive I could just buy the same vacuum cleaner, new, with all of the parts, for not that much more.

@uraqtc Pretty sure that’s how USPS does it. 5 days “Awaiting Shipper” then boom… “Delivered - No One Home” and left at the door even though you were sitting 15 feet from the front door the entire time.
Mine arrived quickly as well…in a pretty smashed up looking Avalon air purifier box with a few sides somewhat open. Not sure if there was more in the box that’s fallen out, but what remains is:

@adrake21 @OnionSoup maybe the USPS is “sorting” out all of the good items and then sending the broken, disappointing items because we did order and Instant Regret Kit. I mean, the USPS must help MEH maintain our low expectations!
@adrake21 @trlenoir yeah, and in truth, you’re really paying for the excitement of the surprise and “beating the game” than anything else. There is a fun factor involved even if you get crap.
Although, I must say, I’ve won one Irk and got three Fukus in last Summer’s shenanigans and I received something useful in every single box. Something that would have cost me more than $5 each time… So the prize is partially in the box too.

Actually was’t all that meh. Liz clairborne black sparkly charging wallet with rfid data protection, slim sonic gift set, Orange IRK bag w00t, navy blue nicole miller purse with bonus wristlet, and the only truly meh item is euro athletic sock pair that falls right between mine and my workout buddies shoe size… so i’ll see if maybe the sizing is wrong and maybe one of us can make use. Overall, not bad! Good thing i’m female or this would not have been as good lol.
@placecm the slim Classic is pretty ok. I got one in my last mystery box. I brought it on my most recent trip. The only issue was not product related. I think housekeeping did something to it, as by the 3rd or 4th day I came back to a toothbrush w black, smelly residue on the shaft ( above the battery)…and for those who are wondering, no I did not use it anymore

Yah, while we’ve witnessed a fair amount of neglectful behavior from carriers, some of the stuff appeared to be shipped in poorly secured boxes…
… leading us to be grateful to the carrier that all the shit inside actually made it to our porch!

Apparently mine is sitting in Elizabethport, NJ since April 7th (XPO maybe?) and details on tracking for USPS says Parcel Select (usually for bulk shipping, but could be up to 70lbs). My first IRK so I’m still cautiously optimistic!

I have a feeling that shipping to the northeast (in my case anyways) was probably cheaper by the pallet/half truckload on something like XPO from TX, then from there it gets sent to USPS to get sent to it individual locations. Probably stuck in a warehouse on a pallet somewhere.
Typically USPS will also have it hang up a State away for days, then next update will be “Delivered” with nothing in between.
And this is why it is called an IRK

Mine still seems to be hanging out in Texas… been spending a lot of time in Grapevine. Can’t say I blame it… I wouldn’t want to come to South Dakota either if I was in Texas right now!
so my IRK arrived yesterday, and I don’t have photos, but I’ve given away the contents already, so I cant take photos now anyway. But I’m really contemplating if I should even keep purchasing IRKs or fuku/os or what have you. the anticipation is fun, but my last several have all been like super specific crap that is just not applicable to me or my life. last time, the only non-gender specific non-broken thing in my IRK was a cat backpack. I don’t own a cat, but my co-worker really enjoyed it. this time around, I received a purse(I am male, and I have no interest in a purse with rhinestones) a “Juicy Sport” slimming belt(for ladies), a low quality bath towel, a pair of headphones you can wear like a bracelet, and an IRK bag. back when Fukus were a thing I received all sorts of crazy things somewhat broken coffee makers, coffee mugs, counterfeit chromecasts, tablet cases, etc. and each box held enough random junk to entertain for at least a few days. after the switch to Fuko, the boxes seemed to hold less but still had some exciting content. I got my shark steam mop in a Fuko. and sure it was broken when it arrived, but I was able to fix it fairly easily. a $180 steam mop for $5 was a great deal. but the IRK really bothers me(perhaps more than it should) due to the fact that every IRK I’ve gotten has had roughly 4 items in it, and most of the items are for ladies(or dudes who like jewelry+purses+makeup, I wont judge). maybe I’ll hold off until the next generation of grab bag comes along… The Glen bag, or whatever they decide to call it.

I can’t bring mine inside yet. I’m still on a 15 lb weight restriction after surgery and it’s a Wolfgang Puck Pressure Cooker oven. Now, ordinarily, I’d be thrilled at this, but I’m slightly worried that if I try to use a broken pressure oven (I’m looking at you, @mediocrebot), I’ll have a large homeowners insurance claim to be made. I did open it up to see if that’s really what it was, and sure enough. There was also a pair of the euro socks, a pair of leggings, Monster USB 2.0<800mbps<USB 3.0 cable for ? Printers and external DVRs, and an orange bag

@guavablueses @sammydog01 all printers take standard USB cables, maybe they don’t look standard to you because you’re used to the ones you put into phones. But the ones that go into printers are the original standard. And yes, almost no one ships a printer with the USB cable. You have to buy it separately. Source: I’ve been in IT for almost 30 years.
@guavablueses I have a Pixma…and connecting wirelessly for the first time is tricky…just read and follow the instructions carefully…a few times…until it works…LOL

As far as I can tell, it works too. It’s really really dusty, and the mouse pad has some white paint on it, but it turns on. Getting to any kind of screen also takes quite a while. It seems to have either never been used, or has been factory reset/imaged, because it starts at the setup screen.

I suppose it’s great for Mediocre that they found a way to reduce their shipping costs by bulk-shipping to centers around the country, but it has killed some of the fun. Mine finally had a status update after reaching Carol Stream, Ill., ultimately bound for Wisconsin. It still has no reported weight and no real tracking, both of which used to be part of the fun. The enjoyment from a BoC/ Fuku/ Fuko/ IRK is partly in the anticipation, and this is enhanced by knowing weight and dimensions of the package. This information fueled (often poorly-justified) speculation about contents based on others’ reports while our shipments slooowly wended their way to their destinations, with time marked by shipments’ check-ins along USPS mule train routes. This slow-build of suspense has been scuttled in favor of a jump-scare of Morningsave cast-offs. [Still hoping for something interesting, though!]

I wasn’t able to post pictures of the holiday Instant Regret Kit I got because it arrived after the holidays and I had it shipped to my mother’s house in another state. I won’t be able to open it until I visit again.

The box arrived delightfully mangled obviously on purpose, with a nicely taped clear window through which to peek at the overstuffed contents which did not seem to be an air fryer as suggested on the box. My tracking was stagnant for a few days, and then it updated with an expected delivery date of tomorrow. A few hours later, it showed an attempted delivery, notice left, no authorized recipient available. I was home, my wife was home, my two dogs were home, I have a doorbell, I have a door that accepts knocks, and there is no indication that anyone was ever here attempting to deliver anything, and no notice of an attempted delivery was left. USPS is full of lies! I had to go on their website to reschedule delivery for tomorrow, which was supposedly the original delivery date anyway. I’ll just pretend it’s something really good, or else they wouldn’t worry about just leaving it at the door… right? There’s just something about USPS and FedEx with their lies about attempted deliveries, or saying a package was delivered a day or two before it actually shows up.
@warpedrotors I’ve been seeing that a lot with USPS lately. I don’t know if it’s a number of work hours allowed thing or if the courier just wants to knock off early, but i have cameras that record the driveway and front door and there’s been multiple occasions where it says delivery attempted when it wasn’t.

I thought I hit it big when I opened mine yesterday. Inside was a Ninja Cooking System. Unfortunately, it was so badly damaged (dangerously so) that it’s going in the trash. It seems like such a waste to ship me something that should have gone into the dumpster from the start. (If I could figure out how to upload a picture, I would).

@Chloesi I thought I hit the jackpot once when I got a 32" monitor in a Fuko. Nothing but a big green screen when we plugged it in. We looked online to see if there was any way to fix that, most of the “advice” said to put it in the trash. Oh well. I think I got a red bag with that one.

Regrets, I’ve had a few. This was delivered today. At first, I thought it was only the scooter, and I was kind of bummed that there was no bag. Then I saw a piece of orange poking out of one of the holes in the box so I opened it. In addition to the scooter, there was the IRK bag, a dash cam in an opened box, and a sparkly Liz Claiborne charging wristlet. Don’t know yet if any of them work. Unfortunately, no one in this house will be able to use the scooter (if it works). My husband thought he might give it a try, then we saw the weight restriction of 120 pounds. Not gonna happen.

Shipped in a very destroyed (but very well taped) Oreck box. Air purifier was loose in its double box with other stuff put inside. Air purifier looks brand new, fully wrapped in plastic. Will try in a future date as currently do not have a need for another air purifier, but will in the future. Other stuff all works.
Glad for the shipping change, finally got a box that wasn’t emptied along the way! Been a long while since I could say that!

@raccoon81 I would but like this is only because of how they boxed it and sent it out for delivery. How does the better business bureau allow this? What am I missing here? If I could rip people off like this I would… there’s got to be a catch here. All they had to do was put a sticker on the box that said fragile and this side up… that might have saved it.
@AzeemTheMachine @raccoon81 as much as People like to think the carriers look at stickers, they don’t.
For example Fed Ex processes over 1 million packages every night in their main hub (Memphis) The process is highly automated and packages are offloaded, sorted and reloaded within a matter of hours. No one is looking for a sticker or hand carrying a box. Other carriers ( UPS/USPS/DHL) have very similar processes.

@AzeemTheMachine I had frequently gotten broken stuff in fuku’s… think of it as meh having us pay them to dispose of their trash but to lure us they give out a very small percentage of good stuff to a small number of people.

So mine arrived on Monday in an open box, but surprisingly intact!

it is now 14 days since my IRK shipped and it has not moved on the usps tracking in 9 days. the newgistics tracking info that was finding it as of yesterday , now says that the tracking number is invalid. at what point is it considered lost?

Mine went from showing processing to delivery attempted overnight. Now that I have tracking info, it shows it shipping info entered on April 5th… and the next thing was arrival at local Post Office this morning. Wow.

Just got my April fools irk… was apparently lost somewhere. What I received was a Polk surround bar. No power supply. Just one beat up box with the bar and a note from the post office saying it was found loose or damaged.
Did any one else get just one thing? No irk bag or anything?

Got mine today. There were several items crammed into the main item box, and I gotta say this is the first IRK I have received that I texted anyone about (or even posted about here, for that matter).
Aside from the awesome orange IRK bag (love it!):
I checked the reviews on the hoverboard, and they give it poor ratings because it only goes 6mph and is underpowered for adults, but since I have absolutely zero sense of balance, that should suit me just fine until I fall and fracture a wrist. Assuming it doesn’t burst into flames before that.
