Hulu makes us wait a week between episodes like old school TV. But I really like the concept. I'll probably try to check out the book after the season ends--don't want to give myself any spoilers so soon.
I am! I actually got hired to be an extra in it, but I'm 95% sure I won't make the final cut. Any scenes shot outside of Oswald's house though, just know your good pal Moose was standing like 15 yards away dressed like a dork in uncomfortable shoes. James Franco seemed like an okay dude. He stood next to me a couple times but we didn't chat or nothin'.
Nope! I boycott Hulu because they blacklist people using a VPN which is a great way for anyone to protect their privacy against hackers. I have contacted Hulu about it, but no need to bore everyone with the details of that discussion.
It boils down to this, I pay each month for the following digital content providers that allow me to use their service while I am on a VPN: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify, Xbox Live and DI.FM.
Why can I not also be paying hulu for their product? Because their business model fucking sucks. Fuck them.
@thismyusername@Foxborn You know, I don't mind commercials per se, and I don't mind Hulu's enough to pay to get rid of them, but they can be pretty irritating. The worst part is that you tend to get the same exact ad over and over, and even though advertising on the web should be incredibly targetable, Hulu's ads are constantly beyond irrelevant to me. It's almost worth paying just so I don't have to see those damn droopy-diaper baby ads anymore.
@brhfl See LOL And think of all the time it saves if you watch as much as I do anyway. Plus I don't know why but sometimes it's the adds that hang up on the PC and crash the video or stutter all the way through and the show plays fine. so very aggravating
Loved the book (not so much the very end), and was looking forward to it. The reviews have been abysmal and I kind of lost interest. I don't have a hulu subscription and this might have (at least for a limited time) had me thinking about it. Now, not so much.
I'm reasonably enjoying it. The book was good. Not super impressed with the chnages they've made to the story so far, and there's a lot of time-travel/continuity errors that the production staff didn't catch.
For those of you hating on Franco, I will mostly agree with you. However, he is a good actor if he gets a part that fits him well, and this one is fitting him well.
@f00l umm...well... they are widely available on the torrent sites within a day or less of release (if you aren't piracy adverse...) not that i would have any experience with that...
Read the book. It was good. Haven't seen any of the series yet. Not much of a James Franco fan.
@AnnaB But he was Daniel in Freaks and Geeks! I loved him in that.
I was going to watch it until @AnnaB told me James Franco was in it. Thanks a lot @AnnaB.
@phatmass
Is James Franco the one who's the genius at everything he touches or whatever? I forget.

@Moose is he shorter in person?
@RedOak Nah he's regular sized

@jjohns71 But you could have the privilege of paying extra to get rid of commercials.
@2many2no best $4/mo I've ever spent. :D
@thismyusername Surely not better than VMP!
@jjohns71 i use unblock-us.com and hulu works fine.
@thismyusername Agreed about the commercials, SO worth it
@2many2no I have been using hulu for 10 years... I nearly broke into tears when I saw the option, it might top the cheap shipping... it might...
@Foxborn heck yes... totally worth it.

@brhfl oh and some of those christmas adds that got played into febuary last year were the WORST!
@jjohns71 i'll bet their agreements with content providers don't extend outside USA, so no VPN - just a guess
What's "DI.FM"?
@comics360 Digitally Imported Radio. It's an all electronic radio station, website: http://di.fm

I remember the date (I lived in Texas then), but I didn't know there was a book or TV series. I must be out of touch.
Looks interesting but I'm also not a fan of James Franco.
Maybe when it comes out on Amazon Prime. (Might be a really, really long wait.)

@RedOak never, hulu exclusive series, unless they buckle to the almighty amazon $$$ later

Gonna have to check this out.
Was in elementary school in FW that morning. My parents had friends who went to see him. My teacher said she wished he wouldn't go to Dallas.
Then all the teachers were crying in the halls. Then they told us why.....
@f00l Yeah, we came in from PE outdoors to find everyone crying.
Is there any way to watch this, other than Hulu? Or any way to wait and then binge-watch?
@f00l wait until the season ends and then do the 7 day trial (requires suffering through commercials)?
@f00l umm...well... they are widely available on the torrent sites within a day or less of release (if you aren't piracy adverse...) not that i would have any experience with that...
Any story with Chris Cooper in it is going to be pretty cool
Here are some pictures from the set taken by someone who isn't me. I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to take pictures so I definitely didn't.
Enhance...
Old timey fun timey cars were everywhere
Chekhov's Gun: If a gun in any dramatic narrative is shown in the first act, it should kill President John F. Kennedy by the third act.
@Moose Makes sense now. You were clearly the second shooter.
I really enjoyed the book. Based on the previews of episode 3, it looks like they're going to stray pretty far from the original story line.
I walked down to Dealey Plaza during filming, and these were some of the cars hanging out in front of Old Red:
Ford Galaxie 500’s were my dad’s car of choice for decades.
And a shot of some of the extras on a smoke break. Looking fabulous, ladies!
oddly, i just started this tonight, seems pretty ok
Anyone else totally miss the clothespin reference in last nights episode?
