Honestly, I think most AI is TOOOO sensitive and blocks toooo much. But now this is out there, you can no longer go on “seeing is believing”. (not that you can already, it’s easy to disable the safety wheels if you download some models to your own computer).
It’s going to be all fun and games now until someone gets sued. Have to pay a hefty subscription for Grok though… so ewww… moving on.
@OnionSoup About 20 years ago I worked with a guy from England and he said it was a well-known cartoon image there that Tony Blair was George Bush’s dog. This was during the early Iraq war. But there wasn’t an AI to generate a photorealistic image.
@OnionSoup@pmarin I had a boss who saved me an issue of The Economist with that quote, not because I was into that particular slice of politics, but because I’d simply love the phrase.
@blaineg@mossygreen@OnionSoup well, they did have a few more centuries to perfect the art of political insults.
Also perhaps that is why they sent us to the colonies.

@blaineg Obviously fake since he’s not grabbing her by the
@blaineg @ironcheftoni might be… can’t tell from the picture. But the key is that she seems to be enjoying it. Ick!
@blaineg @ironcheftoni @pmarin well. Properly applied… And consented. Enjoying that could be feasible. But clearly the right half violates plausibility
I have no doubt that this kind of deepfake image generation will become far too common in the coming months.
The only way to win is not to play.
@werehatrack Just re-watched Wargames a few weeks ago. So dated and yet still good. And a very young Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.
@pmarin @werehatrack
GREAT film.
ewwww

Uh oh, they have the right number of fingers.
Things are getting dangerous.
@PocketBrain Trump’s fingers are too big though, it’s giving him normal person fingers… so that’s how you spot the fakes.
Just saw this on Reddit, it’s my favourite so far.

@OnionSoup @pmarin I’m just going to pick a bone at “photo realistic”.
Definitely not even close.
@OnionSoup @pmarin Tony Blair is not Bush’s poodle! Or is he?
@mossygreen @OnionSoup You’re right, I think the original British phrase was “Poodle.” So endearing.
@OnionSoup @pmarin I had a boss who saved me an issue of The Economist with that quote, not because I was into that particular slice of politics, but because I’d simply love the phrase.
@mossygreen @OnionSoup @pmarin British political insults are of a MUCH higher class than American.
