Any RD'S out there? Looking for advice regarding food and metabolic issue
1I have posted about this in the past, but have yet to get an actual answer/ feed back.
TL;DR: my metabolism is about 40% lower than is typical for my stats. How do I properly figure out how much to eat without further “damaging” my metabolism?
I am ashamed to say that I have not handled this past year well. So these stats are from about 15 months ago. My BMR as determined by online calculators SHOULD BE around 1710. However, I did a full fitness panel that included 3D body scan and VOX2 assessment. Turns out, I am actually only burning about / RMR is 1040 calories daily (so about 40% less than my height, weight, BF, age, etc. would indicate. Obviously to cut calories I would need to be sub 1000 or do ungodly amounts of cardio everyday. I have tried to increase/maintain my muscle mass with weight training and increasing my existing cardio. I am so frustrated because I cannot figure out what and how much I should be eating. Even with this past years weight gain, I assume my numbers still need to be adjusted 40ish% less than my projected BMR. But if my suggested macros are properly calculated based on my weight, how do I do that?

RN, not RD, but start with looking at the carbs you eat. Not suggesting anyone go Keto unless that is what they want to do, but substituting high fiber carbs and cruciferus (I can’t spell that word) vegetables for processed carbs and higher sugar root vegetables can lower your caloric intake and not decrease satiation.
Overall, it depends on what you eat more, in most cases, than how much you eat.
Had a patient awhile back where rice was his weakness. They culturally ate it at almost every meal. Just cutting the rice down to a small amount once a day made a huge difference for him, especially if substituting something in the cabbage family.
Good luck to you. This was not a good year for anyone managing a diet. Hot carbs are comfort food. I hadn’t eaten any bread in over a year, and this past 9 months, I have eaten way too much, and it shows.
Chilled potatoes. Do some research on resistant starch. Potatoes are bulky and will take up volume from the fibre and water content.
How are your asparagus plants hanging their dormant period?
And, though I’m certain someone posted about this somewhere in the past, it wasn’t you here. Are you some kind of weird bot?
I mean this with no malice or snark… but why are you posting about this here?
And I’d honestly recommend finding a relevant subreddit (on Reddit.com, obviously), and ask there. Many helpful souls on Reddit. But not always smart ones, though.
@haydesigner this account has created three threads, two with detailed gardening questions asking for advice and now this. It pops up every couple of months. No responses ever. Chances of it being able to solve a captcha are slim af.

@mediocrebot yes, just like Gerald here.
If RD means rude dick, I’m sure they’re around, but you’ll find lots more burning cities and plotting to kill a governor apparently… Though it’s 2021, maybe we put that all behind us? I doubt it. But good luck with the question.
