@ExtraMedium Too tempted to buy that door mat for my new apartment, but the tenants above me are retirees and I’m not sure they’d love it.

@er1c I picked up one of the “Hell is other people” doormats last time we ran those. Great call and it’s currently serving as a mat for the dog bowls since my dogs love to bark at every visitor we have.

@sillyheathen Oh, great question! I’m hosting a few of the Texas staff members next week, which would be a great time, but they’re only stopping in for one day so we’ll probably be busy.

Whats a Pdx meht up?

@Lynnerizer we live in the Portland area. PDX is our airport code and we often use it to refer to this area.

@Targaryen I like to think that I’m pretty good at getting out of bad situations, but I’m also a REALLY heavy sleeper, so the worst-case scenario would certainly be Freddy from Nightmare on Elm St. If I could pick the least scary option it would be President Koopa from the horror that was the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie.

@MrMikenIkes Honestly, I would never have guessed that I was extra enough to work in this medium (see what I did there?) if I’m telling the truth. Regardless of how long I’d been a fan, it wasn’t until my good friend told me they were hiring that I thought I might as well give it a shot. I’m lucky too since I’d just moved to a new area and it was the middle of COVID, so a gig I could do from home was ideal. Worked out to be an amazing opportunity to spend time with a great team doing (mostly) fun and fulfilling work.

How many crew members/co-workers do you have, does everyone get in on filling of the IRKs? I’d think THAT would be a FUN job! Do you all share ALL the duties or does everyone do their own thing? Will it always be a work from home thing for you? All these home working peoples pets are going to go through separation anxiety for sure! How sad for them!

@Lynnerizer That’s so many questions! In order:

• There are 16 in customer service but we have a bit over 100 in the company.

• The CS folks used to help with IRK building but we’ve been moved to a work from home roll since COVID hit so it’s been put on our amazing warehouse team. Does sound like fun though.

• Each person in customer service takes emails and some have extra side tasks that fill more of their time. I think I have 4 side roles these days.

• I’ll always work from home because I’m 2000 miles from the office, but they keep threatening to fly me out to meet the full team in person. If I’m pulled into the office I’ll bring my older dog along for the trip.

@cardiganb Well played! Let’s go with all of them tied for 1st… except the ones that sucked.

@cardiganb I’ll add that Loki has been great and I’m super sad that it’s just 6 episodes. That’s a fun story I could keep following for a long time.

@werehatrack I just have the one cat and she’s openly plotting to kill the new puppy, so I’m guessing there are no secrets in the house.

She beautiful!! How often do you have to brush/groom her? Doesn’t that collar make her fur get into a matted mess? I could never put a collar on my guy Tucker, he’s got the fluffiest, fuzziest, most mattable fur ever! I comb him at least once a day, sometimes twice IF he lets me. I always have his comb by my side and when he comes to say hi HE KNOWS whats gonna happen. I’m STILL dealing with the mess from when I was away for 6 weeks back in April & May. His vet wanted $300-375 to put him under anesthesia to shave/groom him. I’m NOT into that method at all, never mind the rediculous cost!

@Lynnerizer I actually don’t do much maintenance on her. She’s pretty good about keeping herself cleaned up and the collar doesn’t seem to bother her much either. She’s only wearing it these days because I do let her outside often and we recently moved. I want to be sure someone can reach me if she wanders too far off.

@onae I do! I know this isn’t always the case but I grew up in Texas so I’m a fan of all things tex-mex and would never turn down a good tamale!

@gertiestn 65-68% on any given day. I try to keep that percentage down but the folks writing in tend to remind me that those stats are climbing.

@Lynnerizer We have a few folks who serve as “buyers” for the company and have fun selecting some crazy items from all over the place. Quite a few are pulled from the shelves of Archie McPhee which is an old toy store in the heart of Seattle. That place is one of a kind and pretty much everything they sell is made custom just for them so they go all out on the “crazy” and have a blast doing it. If you ever find yourself up that way you should pop in and check it out.

I don’t know how much they are on MS but I found some on Amazon for something like $50 with their coupon. BUT, I also have a $20 credit which will bring my total down around $30. Can’t beat that!! I really REALLY NEED to DO something, it’s getting hard/heavy to breathe again. Somethings got to give here!
