An absolute game changer to how we relate to the birds in our yard
8I genuinely admire the Bird Buddy company and the passion they seem to have for creating bird feeders but today’s announcement for “an absolute game changer to how we relate to the birds in our yard” might be a little over the top.

Yes a bit over the top. With that camera though it makes me wonder if the camera is also pointing at your house just what will they do with all the video that will stream to them besides what birds are showing up in your yard.
@Kidsandliz maybe catch them with some bees? Perfectly natural
@Kidsandliz
/youtube let me tell you bout the birds and the bees
Birds aren’t real.
@ShotgunX I feel sad that I know what you mean lol
@ShotgunX @unksol They were on 60 Minutes. That means it’s 100% real, I think.
@ShotgunX @stinks @unksol Can you prove that 60 minutes didn’t show you AI-generated imagery of what they claimed were birds? And did they include a calibrated pigeon for scale? (I say pigeon because many people regard pigeons as “feathered rats”, and therefor not really birds. Therefore, a calibrated pigeon could be shown for scale, and prove nothing either way.)
@stinks 60 Minutes is basically a government propaganda mouthpiece, like Russia’s RTV or China’s Global Times. Of course they’ll try to make you think that birds are real—it’s what the Gates/Soros administration wants you to think.
@ShotgunX @unksol @werehatrack No, I’m sorry, they said Birds Aren’t Real was real.
Or at least that was my take home of what they wanted us to think!!

They’ll do housework?
Or they could ship the hummingbird feeders.
I’ve had bird feeders my whole life and keep looking at the Bird Buddy. It’s just too expensive. That said this is super creepy. I don’t want big bird keeping tabs on me.
I also recently started playing with Merlin, the bird ID app from Cornell. I’ve identified a lot of birds that don’t come to my feeder and even saw a blue grosbeak when I stalked it down the road. Cool.
@sammydog01 same, I finally asked hubby for one for my birthday,…he told me to put it in the Amazon cart. LOL
@wifeduck I also have a birthday this year. Let me know if you like it?
Edit: it’s plastic. My squirrels chew plastic. A squirrel chewed through my mother-in-law’s gas tank, I don’t think this would work here.
@sammydog01 I love Merlin so much! Glad you like it. This spring I heard 17 different birdcalls within 15 minutes.
@OldCatLady The problem is now I’m running through bean fields trying to spot them. Before I didn’t know they were there.
@OldCatLady @sammydog01 Sunday we were watching television and heard a loud thump outside.
Of course, he just stays where he is, I get up to check it out.
A hawk had flown into our sliding glass door and was lying on the ground, stunned. Cats were pretty curious. I was able to pick it up (it wasn’t heavy at all) and carry it to the front yard, with no pushback from it at all.
Set it down on a trailer, it stood up and the wanky eye was opening better, stretched its wings, and flew off. Being chased by two smaller birds as soon as it was airborne.
/showme a birb
These feeders look nice, but they appear to be for people who live in an area with small birds, but no crows or ravens. Or squirrels, raccoons, or black bears. Around my house, they would transform into expensive debris in one night.
@rockblossom I’m surprised they aren’t steel for the price.
@rockblossom They showed a bear on one of the cams, though. I don’t really want to relate that closely to the local bears - they’re all over town these days.
@Kyeh
My goodness what a beautiful creature! As long as it doesn’t get up close and personal…
@Lynnerizer I swiped those pics off Nextdoor, but they really are all over town these days. I’ve seen two of them over the years, luckily not too close up. The one in the top picture is from a short video someone took that shows it running up on somebody’s front porch before loping away! Can you imagine opening your front door right at that moment?
Bird Buddy is 20% off for prime day. I don’t know if that’s a legit sale or the usual Amazon bullshit.
