@phatmass Me neither. Some mystery promotional thing, but limited to a physical location...what's the goal here? Does Amazon need more fans in Seattle?
@medz Seattlite here. For the most part I don't like Amazon. Transplant workers to our already overcrowded neighborhoods so they can be overworked and some underpaid. On the plus side, yay for adding to the economy. Plus this kind of cheap shit I guess :/
Speaking of BoC, Woot is gurgling along in a Woot-off, limited category variety, even as I type. I can't believe how boring it is. Light bulbs! Tennis shoes! Duffel bag! Somehow, I'm able to resist the six-pack of light bulbs for only $34.99 plus 5.00 shipping, but then I've always had extraordinary discipline.
@gertiestn There was something or other in that woot off that was only $6 cheaper than on Amazon and on Amazon it was expensive enough for shipping to be free so depending on what Woot charged for shipping it could have been more expensive LOL
@JonT Well... some of them are funny... My wife loves using the "crap" folders at her work... Something about using them at the federal government is just funny.
@SkippyKJ I remember the day the Mortimer & Monte writing changed from strange nonsensical funny....to complete crap not worth reading...I remember thinking, "hmmmm, they lost a special employee" . @Matthew's humor and creative genius (I love a brilliant warped mind) is why I stick around Meh! You guys/gals are funny as fuck
Redoing the Woot-Off theme was languishing on my to-do list for a long time before I finally crossed off my entire to-do list all at once by leaving. Not only was the original one almost a decade old, the lyrics had not even been factually accurate since the last site redesign (the last time visitors to the site could expect to "get one woot per day"). I'm glad there's a new one at last!
@shells thanks! But other people always wrote the M&M daily email bits. I think I contributed like three of those ever. I did write almost all the M&M videos (of which, obviously, there were far fewer).
@dashcloud I thought I'd use my two weeks after giving notice to do some boring stuff, like organize audio and video assets in a way that'd be comprehensible to anyone besides me. The other fun thing I wanted to do was write a video in which Mortimer and Monte got new voices. I have no idea what the explanation would have been, because I ended up not serving those two weeks out. And it might not have mattered -- cartoon/puppet characters' voices change often without explanation. But it might have been funny. Regardless, the monkeys have not appeared in a speaking capacity since.
Interesting idea
Someone needs to gather hundreds of drones, hunt down the truck, and have them carry it away. Then we shall see.
I guess they did this before with a giant locker that contained a car.
@StrangerDanger I was just thinking about that. So I'm expecting some sort of delivery related announcement to follow this PR move.
what the truck?!
I don't get it.
@phatmass Well, you see when the seasons begin to change...

It goes two blocks and crashes.

@gertiestn on a brighter note. this is happening http://www.thinkgeek.com/on-sale/clearance/?cpg=cj&ref=&CJURL=&CJID=1909525
@connorbush selling off items gamestop doesn't want?
@gertiestn yea this pretty much sums up modern woot offs
right click, open image in new tab for larger.

@gertiestn Best part on those light bulbs is that they are a dollar more in the woot off than they were a couple weeks ago. Woot is dead to me...
@gertiestn Woot is now the 9gag of deal sites
It's just full of Amazon-branded dollar store purchases.
@JonT it makes me sick.
@JonT Well... some of them are funny... My wife loves using the "crap" folders at her work... Something about using them at the federal government is just funny.
@sohmageek I use these at my office. Gave the "Total Crap" folder to our Chief Compliance Officer and she loves it.
For a moment there, I thought it was going to be a reference to Woot's Time Truck:

WAIT A SECOND. THEY CHANGED THE WOOT OFF THEME. WHAT.

I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS.
(ninja edit: apparently it's been "new" for 3 months now. whatever.)
@Collin1000 They have to phase out any leftover @matthew scraps. R.I.P. Mortimer & Monte

@Collin1000 Woot! plays this new theme as a YouTube add..... no lie

@matthew If you don't mind telling, what other items were left undone on your to-do list when you left?

woot who?
@mamawoot that would be an owl with a speech impediment.
