Alexa aka Legsex
1So talking about smart bulbs today and people bringing up Alexa.
If you say “legsex” does your Alexa light up like you said “Alexa”…
… Or is that just me with my accent? Has to be said all one word.
“My-legs-ache” said fast as one word works for me sometimes too but not always.
“Legsex set a timer for ten minutes” works for me every time.
And before someone asks… No, it wasn’t in some kinky scenario we discovered this, one day I was sick and talking to my wife about my legs aching and Alexa ominously responded out of the blue “goodbye”. Freaked me out, so started looking for what triggered her to respond.

Oh… And Alexa is hard to get to swear… Even “damn” she has a problem with. However if you ask her:
“Legsex set a damn timer for ten minutes” she will refer to it as a “damn timer” and even tell you when your damn timer is going off.
@OnionSoup Maybe she thinks you’re the dam keeper? (Btw, is probably the accent, i can’t get her to respond to either of those phrases, but she, almost always responds to “election.” Maybe mine is just a boring prude?

@ircon96 that’s disappointing if it’s just me she responds to for that.
I never call her “Alexa” anymore… Unless we have guests visiting.

my BIL trained his Alexa to reply to some basic questions about his kitchen for when he has company.
Q: Alexa, where is the mixer?
A: It is under the counter to the left of the stove.
Q: Alexa where are the coffee pods?
A; They are to the right of the refrigerator in the upper cabinet above the Keurig
etc. etc.
When my SIL visited he was showing it off by feeding her the questions and as the last one he prompted her to ask:
Q: Alexa, where is the liquor cabinet?
A: Well, Carrie, it is only XX:xx AM. Isn’t it a bit early to be drinking…?
Needless to say we all got a big laugh out of that!

I am disappointed it seems to only work for me…
… On the plus side,I did get several other people to say “legsex” to an appliance. I need to ask some people from back home with the same accent as me to try it… Must be something about it
