Alex and J-lo’s baby “inducted“ into MLB hall of fame and to receive a Grammy!
1Thank you for the email checkout.org (aka: meh, mediocritee, sidedeal, casemates) however receiving shipping information does not indicate the actual mailing date, because the subject of the email is incorrect!
When will I get the “Your package has an actual mailing date” vs. “Your SideDeal order of Griffin Survivor SRV-2 Waterproof Rugged Speaker with Built-In Power Bank has SHIPPED”
I have received many of these emails across all of the meh family of sites, I don’t like the misleading subject line. The fact that there is a clear distinction on the USPS website makes this email feel like a lie.
Is my long standing wonderful opinion of meh and friends going to change? I have become a self branded “brand ambassador” of the sites, giving support and free word of mouth marketing. Am I going to stop telling people because of this minutia “shipping vs. mailing date”, perhaps.
Time to pump the brakes over there at checkout.org, meh, sidedeal, morning saver, mediocritee, and casemates.
(not including pastadrop because as the site explains it’s an “experiment” and that means they get a pass[ta]).
You’ve got your COVID slowdown header on all pages (we get it slower delivery times) but my items have been “inducted” and haven’t even left the building.
That’s like inducting the unborn child of Alex Rodriguez and J-Lo into the MBL Hall of game because his/her dad is a Yankee and Arod bought a nerf ball and mit!
Or if a recorded track of the unborn child’s heartbeat Is used as a sample on the next J-lo album which then gets a Grammy which results in awarding the fetus producing credits and a Grammy at the awards ceremony.
Talk to me peeps, please.

I agree… once USPS gets it and the info starts to change meaningfully is one thing…all else is just jerking folks around. Spend a bit more energy actually GETTING it to the post office and a bit less posting “updates” maybe?
@broomist The USPS doesn’t get your package until it’s at your local post office. Then they take it to your house. It’s not doing a lot of changing at that point.
@broomist @sammydog01
actually, I believe it enters the USPS system at a regional center (aka Processing and Distribution Centers (P&DC) which is Atlanta for me, before it goes to the local distribution in my small town after a stop at another intermediate facility.
@broomist @chienfou My packages show up in town and get delivered the next day.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@chienfou @sammydog01 Both is correct Depends on a bunch of factors which is normal for your area. Independent contractors drop off at my local post office and also deliver some themselves. Some recently were supposed to be dropped about 2 hours south and ended up about 2 hours north. The post office charges for the extra sorting and then sends it where it should go. Person who was getting that one swore I was lying and angry we were taking so long to deliver. Me: Umm, we got it yesterday at the wrong sorting facility. They will send it here. Customer: Yes, I know. I was supposed to get this last week…
Related note: we often get packages that belong almost 900 miles away. It must be close in the sort method used since it is usually for the same city. Occasionally we get random errors but the one city is quite common. I have never checked but I bet the tracking says they are in the correct city when I have them in the wrong state.
I gotta say, getting jerked isn’t always a bad thing guys.

Jerk refers to a style of cooking in which the main ingredient—which most often is chicken but may also be beef, pork, goat, boar, seafood, or vegetables—is coated in spices and slow-cooked over a fire or grill traditionally composed of green pimento wood positioned over burning coals; the resulting smoke is key to the …
@moonhat is why there are no summer holidays in June.

@Cerridwyn
I would like to live off your leftovers please.
@f00l
nothing related to ‘jerk’
but made a pork loin with an apple butter glaze today. should have used the hotter cinnamon but it was yummy. was out of cloves, used the french 4 spice stuff from bill the hippy. next time going to use hot cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
@Cerridwyn
sitting on the floor under your dinner table at your house and getting just the pet scraps would be so very worth it.
: )
@f00l
i’m happy to cook, i just hate to clean
planning 3 pepper (think black type, not red/green) lasagna made with a garlic alfredoish sauce and sweet italian sausage with mixed cheeses to make next weekend. or maybe some dirty rice. or cashew chicken.
i like food and i like to cook it. i just need a permanent scullery (pc) person
@Cerridwyn
Your descriptions each time seriously get into my head.
Usually food/cooking descriptions don’t get to me this way.
My congrats to you and to whomever you break bread with.
@f00l
Thank you kindly
So here’s what I believe happens with this kind of shipping. Your package gets a label on it and goes into a trailer off the loading dock. This trailer belongs to the carrier and at this point the package is shipped, it’s out of Meh’s hands and into the mitts of Pitney Bowes.
At that point your package is no longer held back by the Covid delays at Meh. But now it’s subject to Pitney Bowes and their delays.
They may not pick up the trailer until close of business. Or tomorrow morning. They may take the trailer and park it at their processing facility for a couple of days while they get everything ready for the induction ceremony. And they can ship trailers full from one processing facility to another before they decide to hand it off to the post office.
So it’s not like @Dave is loading up your Griffin Survivor SRV-2 Waterproof Rugged Speaker with Built-In Power Bank into the back of his Volvo wagon and toting it down to the pack n ship and needs to hurry it up. There are machinations and delays after the package leaves the warehouse in the best of times, and these are not those times.
I’m not saying meh is without fault. They could use a different shipper, but probably not without raising prices. But the semantics of when the item is “shipped” don’t seem off to me.
@moonhat didn’t wear a mask to the grocery store.
@mediocrebot you’re right. Ignore my previous wall of text. It’s clearly all @moonhat’s fault and I was out of line implying otherwise.
@moonhat is to blame!
@djslack
makes sense to me… (both posts!)
@djslack
my guess is they are under contract.
how long that is for - well ask @snapster
and what happens after, ask him too
Maybe it’s the “Electronic Shipping Info” that’s inducted into the shipper’s network? My t-shirt was picked up three hours after it was inducted, so I wonder if “inducted” means it was scanned or keyed into the shipper’s computer system?
