I've never had a beverage spilled on me in an airplane. I have spilled entire large sodas onto my companions at the movie theater... Twice. Luckily, the large beverages have free refills.
@jsh139 I've lived in too many blue and yellow places - soda pop it is… Now live in a red place. I don't do coke (of any variety LOL). Looks to me like a map of flyover vs non-flyover states anyway.
@jsh139 I'm so glad I was born in one of the correct regions of the country. When/if I have offspring, we're going to have to move back to one of those places.
@bluedyn I am from the soda region, and soda is indeed what it should be called. It was just a little political jab at the middle of the country having sense ;)
@JonT Well, yeah, I'm not looking to move back to the middle of the country any time soon. I only visit. And not very often. But I have to give them credit for something; especially since they're stuck with Todd "legitimate" Akin.
I ended up getting $150 from an airline from a drink spilled on me on the basis that the stewardess that spilled it on me was rude about it, my luggage was lost, and I had to buy new clothes while my luggage was being found and took 3 days to get to me.
I have yet to have a soda spilled on me while flying. I did however, have soda spilled on me in 2 different Waffle Houses, in 2 different states, on the same cross country trip. Damned wobbly... buildings?
However, the point about the drink cups is solid. It is also very wasteful on the part of the airlines. If they went with single serving screw top containers (can be plasic, aluminum, etc.) they would only have 1 thing to dispose of, instead of 3 (can, cup, napkin.) If they went with just bottled water, they wouldn't even need the extra ice.
@ongware I am willing to bet the soda companies have some sort of crazy good distribution deal with the airlines for X years, that specifies the use of cans.
@Thumperchick Maybe because the empty cans can be crushed to take up less room before disposal? The screw-top aluminum bottles I've seen aren't really crushable. Just a thought.....

@BillLehecka I thought I was the only person to have done that. I was mortified.
Spot on, Irk. Literally, there is a spot on your clothes from the spilled soda.
Never had a drink spilled on me while in an airplane but I have had my elbows bashed in with that fucking beverage cart >:(
Oh, and it's 'soda', not 'pop'. Sheesh!
@jsh139 I believe the correct term is "coke." As in, "I'll have a coke - a Dr. Pepper, please."
@hart HAHA, that's paradoxical.

@bluedyn define "correct"...
@Kidsandliz There's a large pocket of sense in the middle of the country.
@bluedyn I have to disagree. Oh you meant what they call soda.
@JonT Aren't you from a soda region? I'm from STL, proudly defying the pop people to the north and the coke people to the south.

Brilliant! Best Irk video yet!
What is Irk flying around so much for? Motivational speaking gigs? It's probably bothering me more than it should.
I'm on a plane right now. Let's see if my beverage is spilled on me.
I'm beginning to worry about the creases at the corner of Irk's mouth. Hope tomorrow's deal is for Botox.
@Cinoclav Also his front two teeth are leaving an indentation in his upper lip. Call a dentist.
@jimmyd103 They seem to have been there since day 1.
@Cinoclav You are correct. I looked back through the videos.
@jimmyd103 I do that just for the sheer joy of Irk! He pleases me more than he should.
And how about that horrible airplane food, am I right guys? ....right?
@troy A bag of pretzels is hardly "food". Having only traveled within the continental US, I've never had to experience an airplane meal. Whew....
@troy Airline food has gotten slightly better, now that you have to pay for it. First class meals aren't half bad, either. At least on USAir.
@troy My airplane food is typically awesome. That's because I grab some fast food from the concourse and carry it on.
@troy
@JonT The problem is, that curtain is no security. There really should be a locking door.
If you're not watching these videos with automatic captioning, you're missing out:
@harrison Oh, they pour the drinks into "still prone cups" - which would explain all of the spillage!

@ongware Did you made profit at the end or no?
I have yet to have a soda spilled on me while flying. I did however, have soda spilled on me in 2 different Waffle Houses, in 2 different states, on the same cross country trip. Damned wobbly... buildings?

@Thumperchick Which is odd, because big companies like these always make cost savings studies to figure out why some things costs more than others...

@Thumperchick At least they collect the cans and plastic cups separately now, which leads me to believe that they are recycling them.
@jsh139 I work for JetBlue. We recycle what we can.
I fucking love this videos! I don't care what happens to meh.com but I want this videos to keep going forever!
