I seem to already have five sets of headphones I bought from meh, more than I ever thought I would buy... I think I can safely say I have no need for more. (Quite happy with what I've gotten, mind.)
Just a thought on the model number. I worked for a company similar to adidas...like one of their largest competitors...okay, Nike...and they had similar model numbers. The 6 digits before were the model, and the digits after were color code. Every product, from socks to bras to shoes to headphones followed the same number scheme. They needed something for the color code even if there wasn't a color variation because of the sheer volume of different products they sold.
@presbypenguin I worked for a large retailer...one that may have been JCPenney. We had 13 digit numbers for everything with "smart" numbering to indicate everything about the item including department, category, color, size etc. We ran out of numbers.
Well, hey, at least I can save up for something I really want. Okay, Meh, post only stuff I couldn't give a rat's fuzzy tail about for a couple of weeks until I'm ready to buy something big and awesome. You can even call it "Big and Awesome Day" so I'll know to buy it. (end sarcasm mode)
Got a 3 and 5 year old. (Two different girls ... not one girl who's 3 and also 5). Reading a lot of Suess. All words look weird when they are repeated. Did The Foot Book last night. By page 15, I was swearing foot was misspelled or I was mispronuncing it.
Similarly, if you take any recorded spoken phrase of 5-8 syllables and loop it, after 30 seconds it sounds like singing.
@Not_Ken_M Get it right. It's the Physician's Society for American Ears. And they advise not inserting anything in your ear SMALLER than your elbow, about which low hanging fruit I shall resist comment.
It is great fun to tell a small child to never put their elbow in their ear because it will make them explode. Usually they will immediately a) freak out, and b) start to try.
@carpe_dumb I think it is the Physics Society for All Ears that says don't put your left elbow in your right ear, but putting your right elbow in your right ear is perfectly acceptable.
I guess I'm the target market here...I sweat like a pig (...the answer is: no, they really dont...) to the point where I have had ear buds rust from the inside out because sweat got into the drivers. The little control thing being so close to the ear looks like it would be a pain though...I may buy later if there are still any left.
That tiny minority is me. My current workout earbuds are starting to fray and all the replacements I can find locally boast about their partial noise exclusion when I want to completely block out the terrible music at the gym. So, I for one was happy to see this offer.
Still thinking about these. Although I didn't expect to, I've loved my Skullcandy Fix (2011 model?) buds that I picked up from steepandcheap a few years ago. I own a few "redundant" pairs of headphones as I know they won't last forever, but they're going on 3 years now so...
The point is that for me, I want the isolation because the music selection at my gym (or any gym really) always sucks. And they need to be easy in/out yet secure in ear. It turns out the (otherwise fantastic) Westone Betas I have don't fit that last requirement at all, nor do any of the other ones I own. I just can't decide if these would be easy in/out as well. Maybe it's worth a $24 bet to see, but I've lost that bet so many times that I may just give up and get another pair of Fix's and be done with it.
It kinda saddens me that I place convenience over sound quality for my gym set. 25 y.o. me would be so disappointed.
(Yes, I have a problem. I own upwards of 10 sets of earbuds - 4 sets of which are actually quite nice/expensive.)
Is noise-cancelling technology simply the silicone earbud or does it actually have an external microphone that produces soundwaves that cancel that noise?
Kickstarter Funder of Meh prior to being a longtime Wooter. This is a pretty open and shut meh for me.
Amazon has an outstanding bluetooth product (QCY) that I won't link here for less than the price of the low-end product being detailed today. On top of that, if you're a Prime Member its free shipping.
I am a headphone snob because I am a middle-aged dude who lives in the suburbs in the Deep South. I'm required to work outside in the yard, maintain perfectly manicured flower-beds so my wife can take credit for them, and somehow drown out the noise of the troglodytes who don't understand the beautiful simplicity of reel lawnmowers (Google is your frien').
I stumbled around with some Skull Candy cans, some older Motorola over the ear clip on bluetooths and even some nice Seinheisers (spelling is incorrect. I am aware. Sue me if you like, but blame my poor public school education system and the politicians whom foisted it upon me unsuspectingly).
They either made me sweat, didn't do noise cancellation to my liking, made my ears weary (my ear canals are asymmetrical due to childhood ear surgery) and painful too quickly, or just pulled out due to needing a 3.5mm aux jack in (as they were not bluetooth). But the QCY's I found on Amazon are the best I've ever found, and they're incredibly inexpensive. Cheaper than even these on sale today.
They're actually $1.99 more expensive, but getting bluetooth and losing the 3.5mm jack is superior for me. I thought they were $17.99 believe it or not and there are other retailers who have them for less expensive but they are not Prime Eligible.
@GFunk I have these and I get a lot of noise transferred through the cable when I move my head around. I like the LG Tone for comfort and sound quality.

Really? I wouldn't buy at this retail price, not even at $10. Super Meh
Meh thinks l have 10 ears.
why would my ears sweat?
@elpepe exercise
I seem to already have five sets of headphones I bought from meh, more than I ever thought I would buy... I think I can safely say I have no need for more. (Quite happy with what I've gotten, mind.)
Man. I'm always getting sweat in my ears. It sucks being a sweaty-American sometimes.
Kidding. I mean, true, I am often sweaty, but in my ears is the one place I don't think I've ever had a sweat issue.
@djslack You should give it a try. It usually happens with the rest of the body getting sweaty.
"The Response model blocks out some exterior sound, for staying alert on the street." Wouldn't that have just the opposite effect?
@radi0j0hn Blocks out some but not all.
@radi0j0hn Even marketers these days are often poor writers.
Slavs everywhere are excited
@sp3ar I didn't know you could still have slavs in this country...
@sp3ar does meh ship to Eastern Europe yet?
Adidas Audio....for Budding Athletes Everywhere.
@UncleEdZed I hear what you did there
@UncleEdZed and we have the winning comment for the thread.

Food for thought.

Is this a valid price comparison and comparable product?
@connorbush those are obviously MH ADS-P EBUD GY WW
lolol one review that deducts three stars because of apple incompatiblity
how proper
Is that a foot in your ear or are you just happy to see me?
@RedOak these are headphones only the brand is similar to a sneaker brand
Boring!

@TheTexasTwister learn proper formatting from 1980's script (later HTML)
:sarcasm on
insert thing into thing
:sarcasm off
@DMlivezey
Writing "end sarcasm mode" was part of the sarcasm of the post.
(sarcasm)
But thanks, being a PC Technician for more than 15 years I wouldn't have known.
(/sarcasm)
@DMlivezey @TheTexasTwister it's all fun and games until you press esc thinking you're still in an editor
@Lotsofgoats ROFLMAO!!!
Running a half marathon in a month. You've got yourself a deal.
@tcarpel that seems like a long time to run a half marathon, i'd bet you could walk a half marathon in a month
@DMlivezey did I lol? I chuckled. I chuckled a chuckle.
Side note, chuckle is a weird word.
@tcarpel

@MehnofLaMehncha and if you play it backwards you are from the beatles or ELO
@MehnofLaMehncha you had to clarify the 3 AND 5 year old thing just to avoid the Meh. 'ambiguity police' from joking with you about that ;)
I just bought a set of Bluetooth ones for the same price. No thanks Meh, thanks Amazon
@tightwad Link? I'd be int'd in an inexpensive set of good Bluetooth headphones.
@DaveInSoCal Here is what I bought. I am sure the Audiophiles will cringe but I am not one so it works...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PEPIWNI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
"or boast a hot brand name"
Adidas isn't hot? Monster isn't hot? You put em together and you don't get steam? Sheeesh.
Now if they would stop ear wax or stop ear hair from growing....... That I could use...
@eeterrific Ear wax? Ear hair? Ewww. Waxy ear hair? Double ewww.
Not Android compatible? Meh. I'd take two stars off for that alone as well, even if it meant a negative stars rating.
Irresponsible, meh. The American Ear Society of Physicians specifically recommends NOT to insert anything into your ear sans your elbow. I'm out.
@Not_Ken_M Get it right. It's the Physician's Society for American Ears. And they advise not inserting anything in your ear SMALLER than your elbow, about which low hanging fruit I shall resist comment.
@carpe_dumb Meanwhile, thanks to a lack of lobbying, Canadian ears continue to be abused. /s

@pm314
If by 'later' you mean 11:59 EST, it's looking pretty good for you.
@cinoclav or until 6am next day if VMP
@DMlivezey Well, I saw there was no VMP badge so I went with 11:59. But yes, 5:59 am otherwise.
@cinoclav yea, i wasn't correcting, only extending the impulse buy time if @pm314 was on the fence

Normally they call the former "noise isolation".
Moar knives an guns plz.

Meh-son, I am very disappernt.
@GFunk Please link it here. It would be appreciated and is not against the B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T. rules. It's actually encouraged. See, I'm encouraging you.

@GFunk Thanks. Picked up a set.
maybe -00 is for the revision number, -00 1st release 01 3rd release.... ETC
Monster has horrible build quality. It'll probably fall apart in 3-4 months.
if it was bluetooth I'd have been all over it but I'm always afraid having a cord dangling about while running is going to cause a bad day
Got these today and they sound like crap.
Should have known better. Meh.
Great deal, best headphones I’ve ever had so far.
