A place to put financial assistance for those laid off due to covid-19

I thought it might be useful to have a place for people to post financial help people may know about for folks who have been laid off due to covid-19.

When searching for help for someone else I ran into these two funds:

If you were laid off due to covid19 need help paying what was the employer paid part of your health insurance that you now have to pay due to COBRA this fund is open (7/19). There is a limit on household income that is family size dependent:

This fund is currently closed but keep checking it as it might open again:

There are many disease related (not just cancer) funds out there that can help with medication, visit copays and some of them help with insurance premium payments, household expenses, travel for health care… if you have that specific disease. Google your health issues and financial assistance and see what comes up. While some are only for a small amount (for example one of the covid funds is only $250) small amounts add up. If you find one that is open you’d need to apply pretty quickly as they tend to close pretty quickly. If the fund is closed keep checking as often they reopen.

Also the drug company may give away free meds if you qualify. I have also found goodrx coupons (there are others out there besides this one, and some are good for pet meds too) are often cheaper than insurance for meds (prices vary between coupon programs and pharmacies). The pharmacy at Costco and Sam’s Club (you don’t have to be a member to use those pharmacies) often has cheaper prices too. Some drug companies have their own covid-19 programs.
