@werehatrack That would be my dream (the lift – but the car is nice too). Getting too old do want to do that much mechanical work. But the lift would be good because no more crawling under a car or using short jack stands. I knew someone that had a large utility garage and had a jack like that. But they had 3 sons (teenage-20’s at the time) so plenty of eager mechanics around.
Working on cars is fun, though. When I had a Porsche 911, I took a 1-day training class at a Porsche shop, for “routine” maintenance but that was tricky because of valve adjustment that you basically could not get to. Got to do it once myself and it felt like a victory. After that decided it was worth it to pay other people. Eventually sold the car when I left CA, which I had to do, but I’m sad about, because an older air-cooled 911 wasn’t worth that much at the time, and now I just checked. Ouch: A: The average price of a Porsche 911 SC Targa is $47,676. Q: When was the Porsche 911 SC Targa produced? A: The Porsche 911 SC Targa was sold for model years 1978 to 1983
I think so - can’t tell for sure if that’s a vent window or a black side mirror.
My buddy in high school had a 1968 Camaro (no vent window) with a tweaked 350 V8 installed. We had a lot of fun in that car (but probably lucky to have lived through it).
@macromeh@werehatrack definitely a vent window and no side marker lights. Also no chrome at the top of the door. So, yes, 1967. This one also has the RS trim along the rocker panels.
@narfcake@xobzoo some years ago kids were in the back of a pickup truck going down the street using a bat to knock over mailboxes. My neighbor filled hers with cement (after they had broken it). The kid who batted her again broke his arm.
@narfcake@xobzoo doesn’t necessarily matter what you do. i put mine on a metal pipe cemented deep into very hard ground. city backed into it with an excavator while digging a new water main.
@walarney@xobzoo Shouldn’t be any impact issues here as it’s set back behind the sidewalk. Yes, it was overkill, but I bought it as leftover material and it cost me less than what an 8’ length of pressure treated 4x4 lumber would’ve ran for.
Non-political my ass - that post is clearly on the left!
@macromeh From it’s point of view, it’s to the right, assuming it’s facing us.
@macromeh @werehatrack Clearly grassroots. I don’t see it as leaning either left or right.
@werehatrack Since when are we expected to consider another’s point of view? That’s just crazy talk…
@macromeh @rockblossom @werehatrack
From ITS point of view, it’s exactly where it ought to be.
@macromeh
@ybmuG As seen in the rear-view mirror, post-election?
@rockblossom as an in my mind when I’m trying to push the political BS out of my brain
@ybmuG Send those thoughts to the Other Thread, post haste!
@rockblossom @ybmuG I wooden presume to attribute any leanings at all to something so upright.
But it does look a bit wired.
/giphy well done
Post?
@narfcake
@Kyeh @narfcake Clearly this is highlighting the elitism of the 1%ers and the rest of us are just scratching for a way to get by.
@ybmuG
@blaineg @ybmuG What an excellent diagram!
Something I could use right about meow:

this makes it even worse. Sold this year for $78,500.

@pmarin I got $750 for my '67 VW bus in 1983. They regularly bring 20 times that now.

@pmarin @ybmuG he just looks so happy! How can you not smile
@pmarin @tinamarie1974 a happy dog cures a LOT!
I wood post a re-ply!

@f00l Interesting wood grain pattern. Looks a crowds of bears or meercats or something!
@f00l @Kyeh pattern is from rotary cutting. think pencil sharpener vs. saw blade.
It’s been said before, but it needs to be said again.
@xobzoo A few years back, I replaced the wood mailbox post with a 3" steel pipe. It’ll be there for a while.
@xobzoo that’s some groundbreaking thinking, there

@Kyeh that perspective makes it look massive!
@ybmuG
Hah, true. It’s on a bridge …
@ybmuG He has seen stuff.
@ybmuG … took me a minute!
@blaineg i actually had that one in queue!
Always proper.
@rockblossom would be bad manners to leave her out!
@ybmuG Very impolitic, indeed!
Lots of

@mediocrebot not bad, but it is backwards
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@rockblossom i think you need this to be grammatically correct
@ybmuG good grief, is that Postum?
@werehatrack yep!
@ybmuG Old post
Maybe the last for tonight…
