I don’t get MeTV very well but it’s on youtube! I love old monster moves!
@sammydog01 But you don’t get the song parody that way!
Hmmm, that reminds me I should do Gautier’s The Mummy’s Foot one of these nights. Kind of comic, though.
@aetris Oh no! Not the foot too! aeeeeeiiiiii

Random, off-topic (or possibly topic-adjacent) comment/confession…
I’m 50 years old, and my older brothers and I still call our parents “Mummy” and “Daddy”.
I have not been comfortable with this fact for at least the last 35 years, but have never found a way to change it.
I do remember a long period where my brothers and I always referred to them in conversation only as, “he/him” and “she/her” - it was always understood who, exactly, we were referring to.
I also remember that, when they divorced, they stopped using those names when talking about each other to us and instead switched to “your mother/your father”. I always thought it was unfair that they got to change the names but we still had to call them by the original, puerile names (although, no one said we had to - there just wasn’t any other apparent option).
To be filed under, “A Mummy by any other name…”
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@DennisG2014 - If there are any grandkids I’d say that’s an automatic nickname adjustment. I started calling my father “Pop” as soon as the nieces started talking. I started calling my mother “Magna Mater” sometime in my 20s, and shortened it to “mater” some years later. All I can say is be careful calling anyone “Pappy”, my father-in-law wasn’t at ALL into it.
There is a historic movie theater near me. I always mean to go. I never go. I just bought tickets for a monster movie marathon on Sunday! It’s Dracula, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein, and Bride of Frankenstein. And my son says he’ll go with me!

@sammydog01 Those all sound great!
@therealjrn I’m pretty excited!
@sammydog01 I’m incredibly jealous!
I saw Creature From the Black Lagoon in 3D at a local library when I was a teenager. It was pretty great.
@mossygreen Thats my favorite of the bunch.
@mossygreen @therealjrn The movies were fun! I’ve only been to that theater once before- it was built in 1928 and is super fancy. They have the originial Wurlitzer organ and played it before each movie which was really cool. The owner told stories too. If I wasn’t a suburban girl and or parking wasn’t such a complete nightmare I would go more often. Maybe I just need a smaller car.
@mossygreen @sammydog01 Sounds like it was fun!
@sammydog01 @therealjrn I’m even more jealous!
