Protein and carbs to keep you running longer. A mix of ingredients that is not just nuts and sugar, eggs and sugar, or beef and sugar - any of which technically satisfies the first requirement, but become stupendously unhealthy in a hurry. Ideally, a pleasantly palatable mix of flavors.
Chocolate melts in my pocket. Give me nuts anytime.

It needs to be a Snickers bar.
Chocolate is a must. Besides peanut M&Ms are an adequate provision.
Good flavour without a bunch of carp ingredients. That’s why I like Larabars.

@2many2no Add some butterscotch chips!
@2many2no Everything except the nuts.
@2many2no I know a cruel and perverse person who leaves out the raisins and adds chocolate chips.
Yogurt. Sweet, sweet yogurt. Or is that nougat? Or maybe caramel?
I’d say a good granola bar needs to at least have granola.

Bourbon and bacon.
@detailer
Better to just take a shot of bourbon bc all the alcohol is evaporated if it’s used in baking.
@detailer @Star2236 There was a place near here that had a bacon daiquiri on the menu for a brief while. It was replaced by a maple one.
@detailer @werehatrack
@Star2236 That’s why I dunk them in the bourbon

Chocolate.
And leave everything else out.
Nearly anything that has chocolate on it cover in it or whatever is great!
