After the late former Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II, she never sang another national anthem … except (as far as is known), once. Her own anthem was, of course, dedicated to her, so she didn’t sing during it.
For other national anthems, it’s the custom for royalty and others to stand respectfully.
But the Queen, according to witnesses present, sang this anthem on this occasion:
