@RiotDemon my local walmart sells this paint for $0.50 a bottle for the basic colors and slightly more for gold and other special colors. So its a little over $30 for just the paint.
I want this so bad, but I don’t need it! I’ve got toddlers. I’m not stable enough to let them paint with acrylic. But they could use the brushes and panels. And if I can get time alone, I can use the paints.
I haven’t even used the set of paint stuff I got from my last meh arts/crafts purchase.
@aperfecttool72
I can’t stop watching that gif!
…AND I can’t help but think THAT’S exactly what’s going to happen when I open one of those paint bottles!
@k4evryng the colors are actually pretty disappointing to me. Seems to be 3 of each color and many shades of brown and mauve. no yellows or bright colors at all.
I bought the last kingart setup ,is craft paint water,acrylic or oil , new to the painting game. more is better of course i have the king art set and its still in the box after a month,also 2 oz is that enough for 1 brush stroke seems like a very small amount.
Any painters have any input?
@mellowirishgent These are acrylics, so they’ll be opaque and will dry down fairly quickly with a mostly matte, slightly glossy finish. I think the “craft” paint refers to the fact that acrylics are suitable for painting on wood, stone, etc, as well as canvas. These canvases are on the smaller side, so I think you’ll run out of canvas LONG before you run out of paint.
@mellowirishgent craft paint refers to the quality. It’s not going to have as much body and color, and might fade. Contrast to artist/professional grade paint.
@mellowirishgent And, 2 oz is a decent amount unless you are doing pour painting, and even then it’s enough to do quite a bit. You can thin this for pour painting, as well.
I’ve used these brands of paint on plywood each year for Christmas and Halloween decorations. I usually buy the larger 8oz bottles for $2.50 of the primary colors and then these smaller 2oz bottles for $0.50 of speciality colors that I can’t easily mix for large quantities like flesh tones. The gold and silvers fades after a few years but the basic colors last pretty long. On plywood some colors won’t cover over a sharpie in one coat but mixing colors offer better results.

@nmadhuusa I wonder if cases like this come up because of people who buy and then cancel their orders within the one-hour window. I’ve never seen something sell out and then become un-sold-out because of a cancellation, for instance.
I don’t care…I just don’t understand the pause of the selling and then the 26 sold to VMP members…will someone explain that to me just so I understand what all that is/means. Thanks.
@sunnysideup22 VMP is an old grandfathered membership that isn’t available anymore. One of the benefits is that they hold back a few items if there’s a sellout for VMPs to buy at 4.
Received today. Paints are 20 different shades with 3 bottles of each. No white or black. Easy to see why some of these made the closeout sale (“extreme glitter” Pumpkin Orange probably isn’t in high demand year-round; the 2 different beiges with “flesh” in the name seem to have been wisely discontinued), but overall I’m happy with the mix I got. More special finishes than I expected.
Same here. 20 colors, 3 bottles of each color. Couple of sets of glitter paints. One set of UV glow Blue and two sets of flesh.All in all not the bargain that I thought but still useful for my needs.
I love painting ceramics and such, so this seemed like a great buy. Nowhere in the description/specs do they say that you get THREE of each color, though. So technically you get only 20 colors, not 60 assorted colors.
Aside from that, though, I like the paints and my daughter likes the canvas and we both can use most of the decent brushes.

OH MY GOD, THEY PAINTED GLEN!!!
@PooltoyWolf They could have painted irk too
Are these what Hunter Biden used to get started?? I mean, if he can get $75,000 to $500,000 for his paintings, surely I can get at least half that!!
/image Hunter Biden Painting
@IndifferentDude Pffft. I’d sell them for a quarter of that just to get my foot in the door.
@IndifferentDude Doubt anyone would want to spend that much on art from a nobody on meh. lmao. Just how the art world works, unfortunately.
Wow. The paint alone is $60-120.

Maybe this has a color that will cover the scratch on my neighbor’s car. I don’t think he has noticed it yet.
@hchavers
You try to cover said scratch and i’m SURE he’ll notice it then!! Lol…
You KNOW that’s just how it is!!

But it sounds like such a good deal!
Are any of the paints duplicates? Or are they all different?

probably isn’t a serving suggestion.

Crossing my fingers that there are no repeated colors and that the paints aren’t old.
Ok…apparently there are no good giphys for this.
@k4evryng
That’s what I was thinking, OLD dried up paint!

@braveit1 Wow! That’s really awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience (and neat decorations)!
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
@braveit1 I wish I could paint that much in 3 minutes!!!
@braveit1 WOWZA! Thanks so much. But my sweet cat Mowgli wants to know how you saw him through the machine.
@braveit1 Oops. Mowgli apologizes, I apologize, the universe apologizes.
@Zachary10 takes lots of practice, and ownership of a TVA TemPad device to create a timedoor.
@gertiestn with a TVA TempPad, and the existence of a multiverse, anything is possible.
@braveit1 @gertiestn These are brilliant! Your neighbors are lucky

This has to be more than Meh, it’s okay!
Can I beat the devil with these paints?
@mas814 I think you need to paint a fiddle first.
@mas814 Make sure you paint some happy trees while you are at it.
I didn’t need this, I didn’t want this…but I couldn’t help myself.

I gave in. Bought it even though I have a ton of paint already that I’m not using. I can’t help it.

Shouldn’t it be “American Broth-ic”?
And wasn’t “The Persistence of Memo-brie” painted by Salvador Deli?

Waited too long to pull the trigger, now it’s sold out
@bassjunkie22 Why 979? They couldn’t throw in 21 more pieces to make this an even 1000? !!
