@Kyeh When I looked at it this morning, I thought it was a pile of dog poop, so I’m just thankful it’s only a pile of the treats. I really should wear my glasses when I read on my phone.
@phendrick The food I feed my dogs claims to be ‘human grade’. Can’t say I’ve ever tried it myself, but I’ve seen their salespeople eating the food while doing pet store promos and displays at dog training arenas.
@blaineg@phendrick@togle When I was a kid, somebody made dog treats called People Crackers (get it?). For some reason, my parents and I decided to taste them. I remember them being palatable but not something I would think of when I was feeling peckish.
@blaineg@lisagd@phendrick My mom tasted a Pupperoni treat at some point several years ago. She said that, when she was a kid, her grandma had dog treats that she and my aunt had tasted, and those dog treats tasted kind of like shortbread cookies, so she understood why her grandma’s dog liked them so much. As my mom’s dog liked the Pupperoni so much, she tasted it. Apparently, nowhere near as tasty as the dog treats of the mid 1960s
Meeeehhh. My pup doesn’t get treats. He’s been on meds for a year+ and those are his treats. 14 y.o. pup. And not overweight! And he needs to stay that way.
How many do you actually get for $24? I have an 8-pack of the multi and an 8-pack of the H&J in my cart, that’s 16 total to my brain, and the total is showing $26.14 w/tax.
@Achromatter You’re right! Just checked out of curiosity and had about the same total but I did notice it shows EACH 8-Pack as $12 so if you want 'em GRAB 'EM before they wise up!! (Save a screenshot too for proof later if needed).
@Achromatter@IndifferentDude They packaged in sets of 4 so you’re getting 8 at $24, but since the listing is titled “8-Pack: Kenn & Kitt Vet-Formulated Dog Treats” it looks like each item on your order is 8, but the pricing and quantity are correct to the title. You’ll be getting 8 packages in your order split 4 and 4.
As @Achromatter noted above the pricing structure is WONKY!! I’ve attached screenshots of my (uncompleted) checkout for reference. It shows you get 2 8-Packs at $12 EACH for a Total of $24.00!! Me thinks someone is gonna be filling out Unemployment forms shortly!
Your dogs won’t care that these are healthy because, well… they’re dogs and will eat anything
Oh yeah? Tell that to my snooty little dog who will only eat cooked chicken and rice or thatexpensuve fresh food from the fridge rated section at the grocery store.
So I would jump on one of these right off but, our Pug has EPI. Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. We have to put pancreatic enzymes in her food or she can’t digest it.
Dogs with EPI will starve to death. The (long) story…
So the dog is sick with diarrhea & also going nuts wanting food. Wife looks it up on the internet, it’s EPI. She takes her to the vet, they love it when you diagnose conditions on the internet, & the vet chuckles, oh no, it’s not EPI. It’s extremely rare & 90% of dogs that get it are German Shepherds. Sends her home with some meds & says bring her back in 3 weeks if she is still sick.
2 weeks goes by, my wife has an emotional meltdown as the dog is losing weight fast & dumping cow paddies everywhere. I take the dog back to the vet & tell him it’s EPI & he chuckles again & says no way. Blood work comes back with elevated liver enzymes & he refers us to a specialist.
Wife takes our girl to the specialist. A $2000 later after a whole slew of tests, the specialist calls us with the results… EPI. The test for EPI costs $150.
Happy ending! Our dog was overweight before but is now at a prefect weight & does not bother to beg for treats. She can’t have any treats or people food. & she is a very good dog. Thanks for listening but meh to this deal.
@Joedetroit I hope you found a better vet. While I understand the frustration with “Google diagnosis” it seems he was going out of his way to prove you wrong while your dog’s health was in jeopardy. Glad your baby’s doing well!

These make great martinis!! So dog gone good.
@yakkoTDI And they’re soft, which makes it much easier to get them on the olive spear for garnishing.
Just when you think meh has hit rock bottom they go and outdo themselves!!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@IndifferentDude You must be new. This is far from the bottom.
@IndifferentDude Well we already knew meh was going to the dogs with this 99 cents stuff.
/showme Vet-Formulated Dog Treats, very delicious, happy dog, rainbows
@awk /showme guy wondering if that actually works
/showme is this stable-diffusion?
The Meh face should have looked like a dog!
@Kyeh When I looked at it this morning, I thought it was a pile of dog poop, so I’m just thankful it’s only a pile of the treats. I really should wear my glasses when I read on my phone.
@lisagd It is kind of gross-looking!
These are better tasting than I expected but they did start to smell stale before the Best Buy date.
@thismyusername If you’re someone who goes to Best Buy on a date, you should probably have low expectations, right?
Well, as someone whose dog was just this week diagnosed with arthritis in her spine, I suppose I’ll try some of the Hip & Joint variety
/giphy dark-reanimated-wolf
@togle Perfect giphy! Look at all that hip and joint flexibility!
@Kyeh @togle I love it when giphy gets his shit together.
@Kyeh @yakkoTDI Agreed! Both GIPHY and the ‘dark-reanimated-wolf’ order met the assignment tonight!
Ad copy on Amazon says these are “human grade”.
Anyone here try them? (If so, which is your favorite flavor? I’m always ready for more snacks.)
@phendrick The food I feed my dogs claims to be ‘human grade’. Can’t say I’ve ever tried it myself, but I’ve seen their salespeople eating the food while doing pet store promos and displays at dog training arenas.
@phendrick @togle As kids we would sneak the dog biscuits and try to decide which color tasted best.
@phendrick Sounds like the Soylent Green of dog treats.

@blaineg @phendrick @togle You would think the meat treats would taste better than baked ones. Obviously not.
How did you know how old I am?

@ExtraMedium Party pooper.
/showme party pooper
@ExtraMedium The new showme feature seems inconsistent.

@yakkoTDI It doesn’t work in replies that are under parent comments. It has to be a parent comment itself, unfortunately.

16 packs and got to use a meh code. Yeah I’m cool with this. Dogs will be happy.

@chollo007 Wow, that skeleton’s not only Shady, it’s Slim.
Multivitamin and Skin & Coat have the exact same ingredients?
@saucycreepa I saw that too…
@saucycreepa thank you for the callout! This has been fixed
I asked the company and these are 11.9 kcal per chew. In for the Hip & Joint.
/giphy festering-animating-october
My dog’s favorite treats are, um, chicken-based.
(You don’t want to know… )
/giphy split-devious-potion
@midstarrynight He doesn’t need any hip & joint supplements…
