@boc Looks like they do, it’s sort of “built-in,” covered by cloth. I have had similar ones have the bar lose its place in the cloth, but maybe that was a sign I had already worn it more than a couple of hours.
@tartanknickers Get some very, very thin strips of foam and glue them on the mask. The medical ones I was given when I had an apt have that and it really helps with fogging. Of course they also have really a good nose piece that goes across one’s cheek far more than most do, however the foam affect exhale breath flow and helps with the fogging.
@Kidsandliz@tartanknickers I’ve bought several varieties of KN95, and the better ones have a metal strip on the outside of the nose bridge. The ones with the strip (of whatever material) inside the mask layers do not seem to fit as well. It may just be the ones I’ve obtained, but the exterior metal strip seems to lead to a better fit around the nose.
@MrNews@tartanknickers The other things that help is have a longer nose piece running across most of the top of your cheek along with a thicker one that holds the bend well without being hard to make tiny adjustments. The extra foam strip along the top that the medical surgical masks I was given to wear did help. Of course they also had a practically perfect nose piece on there too.
@Kyeh I used to play the Carney album quite a bit. I
also especially liked “Tight Rope” and was fascinated by “Acid Annapolis”. I also enjoy the covers of “Masquerade” by George Benson and the Carpenters – just a great song.
The Carney album was in my steady rotation, along with others such as Dylan’s “Nashville Skyline” and Derek and the Dominos (I get an earwig from “Bell Bottom Blues” or “Layla”).
I lost about all of my music because of a house fire a couple years back, and cannot afford to replace it, but at least there is Youtube or Amazon Prime. I did have hundreds (really) of albums, between open reel, 8-track, cassettes, vinyl, CD, and DVD.
For an unusual look at Leon R, watch
It’s kinda long and focuses more on Glen Campbell, but does show interaction with Leon quite a bit. (And note, he doesn’t use even a scrap piece of music.)
We’ve (as in my family not the committee that argues in my head nearly constantly) been using Meh KN95 masks now since they sold that first batch on November 2nd 2020. Right off we found them to be much better than the 5 layer crap masks we used prior to the Meh KN95s.
That is until that last batch, January 27th 2021. Right off they felt cheaper & don’t seal as well. We are under no illusions that any of these masks the Meh is selling are real KN95s, not at these prices. Not that I am an expert.
For once, The Committee (in my head) is in full agreement, a solid meh. We also have a LOT of masks, my wife is vaccinated, & I am hoping the After Times are coming soon.
The last packs I bought on Meh were the best masks I’ve bought since The Bad Times began. Buying 3 more boxes now - either they’ll get me through the rest of the pandemic, or the pandemic will end sooner than expected and I’ll have masks for the next time California is on fire. Winning?
Very poor quality masks: the material tends to shed a but like when you pull a cotton ball; the masks are small (made for small faces, even smaller than my small face); they have a slight odor (which is not so bothersome, but worth mentioning)
