Savory treats are the perfect reward for your loyal companion
For dogs of all breeds, sizes, life stages, and activity levels
VPRO Blend is a proprietary mix of ingredients to support superior digestibility, strong immune system function, effective metabolism, and healthy skin and coat
Includes selenium yeast, mineral complexes, prebiotics, and probiotics
Formulated with gluten-free ancient grains
All ingredients are sourced from trusted suppliers, the majority are locally sourced in Texas
No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives added
Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only
The packages say such things as “Chicken meal” and “Turkey meal”. So these contain worms and grass hoppers? That’s what chickens and turkeys like to make their meals of. At least there are probably no worms in the “Lamb meal” containers. (I assume lambs are dewormed?)
Dogs are too damned crunchy already. And what genius at meh believes that pet=dog!?? Meh, it’s time somebody cleaned your litterbox, & it ain’t gonna be moi.
@chiefbugbung Those were a fewe days ago on SideDeal, but they were long skinny greasy “meat and cheddar” things; you might not have known they were supposed to be people treats.
@ashemo Yeah, I suppose as a treat it’s not going to be a huge load, but having had dogs with “yeasty” coat issues that were solved by going grain-free I suggest avoiding it.
@Pufferfishy - Corn is definitely no bueno, and I also avoid wheat. Some grains can be beneficial, though, and there are studies that now indicate fully grain-free diets could be contributing to heart disease. Dogs are different just like humans, and what’s good for one may not be for another.
@ashemo@troy When I was a kid, some company made these dog treats that were supposed to be tasty enough for humans to eat (I guess the ingredients were human-worthy). I remember them being shaped like doughnuts and a couple inches across. My parents and I decided to taste one and see. They were sorta meh, but not terrible.
Generally my dog is an idiot, and he really loves these. So I guess that makes one of us smart for buying them. I wish I’d gotten more. Btw, when a ‘crunchy treat’ expires or gets stale, it just gets MORE CRUNCHY! That’s winning for this price!

Crunchy threats?! What kind of product is this?
@yakkoTDI The kind that results in bones breaking, I think…
Somebody create a poll of how many meh VMPs are pet owners
@thechinglish ok start
1
@thechinglish ME!
/giphy cats and dogs
@thechinglish One dog here. They’ve gotten me twice with the Ken and Kitt ones.
@thechinglish two dogs and they are very, very impawtant at meh so back off
@KNmeh7 @thechinglish Have you tried these treats for your dog?
@thechinglish great Pyrenees, great dane and 2 cats
What Department does that dog work in at Meh?
@somf69 Apparently, every.
But what if your pet is, in fact, fluffy? And not named Victor? Meh, limited appeal.
Why does Meh never sell cat treats?
@dkaine Because cats are not “man’s best friend”?
@richrauch hah.
@dkaine because cats are assholes
/giphy cats are assholes
No crunchy pets here, all very supple and soft.
@werehatrack You’re not cookin’ 'em right.
How about a picture of the one of the treats? I can’t find anything but photos of the bag.

@phendrick Turkeys and chickens will gleefully eat mice and small rats, too.
@phendrick @werehatrack Also other chickens.
@macromeh @phendrick @werehatrack And their own eggs.
Great snack for hiking.

Where’s my human treats?
@chiefbugbung Those were a fewe days ago on SideDeal, but they were long skinny greasy “meat and cheddar” things; you might not have known they were supposed to be people treats.
Can’t get 2 of each?!?!?!?
It’s unfortunate to go into the pet food/treat business and choose the same name as a company that makes rat poison.
Manufactured for: MID AMERICA PET FOOD LLC.
But where I wonder?
@unome Springfield.
@Trinityscrew @unome A division of Burns Industries?
First ingredient is grain - hard pass.
@Pufferfishy - Keeping in mind these are treats and not a main source of nutrition, and that the grain is sorghum, I don’t see an issue.

Sole review on Amazon - dog’s skin was a mess following ingestion.
Several reviews on Chewy - hot spots within 3 days.
I rest my case.
Has anyone been able to find the size of each treat and/or how many are in each bag?
@ashemo Also, how do they taste?
@ashemo
@lisagd I have not tried these and neither have my dogs, but one of them whispered in my ear that they look tasty
@troy - That’s helpful. Thanks!
(Not as by helpful as a bananna comparison, obviously, but I guess it will do.)

@ashemo @lisagd @troy
Have you seen some of the crap on grocery store shelves? Most animal snacks seem much healthier even if they do not taste good.
@ashemo @troy @yakkoTDI Good point, my friend. Some of it is probably in my cabinet right now.
My cats name is Victor, but he doesn’t eat dog food.
@ardycake If my mom had a really good coupon for cat food, she’d buy it and feed it to our dog.
@ardycake @lisagd Dogs eat dog poop so cat food probably isn’t much worse* than that.
*As a life long person owned by cats I know how nasty some of their food smells and dog poop is rarely that bad.
@ardycake @yakkoTDI You never walked my (late) dog Raven. Or I could just have a sensitive nose.
@ardycake @lisagd @yakkoTDI Often, the challenge with cat food is determining whether it’s actually new or used.

@customers Just a heads up if you’re running low on the Victor pet treats, we’ve got a batch of Lamb over at SideDeal while they last
My dogs still love 'em! Dating doesn’t seem to be an issue
