I was given a hand made one. I love it. It’s black and white. And so comfy on my head. It was given to a friend by a customer of his. He passed it on to me and I wear it often in cold weather evenings. This begs a photo but I’m enjoying beer so figuring out how to do that must wait. Enjoy your evenings everyone.
If these are the same ones from a couple of years ago, and they have that for lining inside, they are wicked warm and worth it, but how many hats do we really need? Meh
@mcemanuel These are the ones from a few years ago that are like a thin cable knit sweater. Okay, but not great. Basically, good for your kid because it does not cost much, and you expect them to lose it by the end of the season.
@alose@mcemanuel when you say not great, are they bad quality/not durable, or just not that warm? Because I have some great frigid weather hats but am hot natured and could use some “mildly warm” beanies.
@alose@longtones@mcemanuel they’re mildly warm. Good for “watmer” days (say 10° to 55°). I prefer my lined hats in anything colder, but these will do if i put it and my hood on.
acrylic
Uncool! Don’t buy these no matter how cheap they are. They’re smelly, itchy, and make your hair frizz. I don’t need cashmere, but could we at least have cotton or wool? Meh.
@boygenius1991@mbersiam
I am really sensitive to itchy hats and scarves and this doesn’t itch so there’s that. I would call it Soft Ish, not oh I want to touch this a lot, but yeah this is ok to wear, pleasant even.
@Lynnerizer Looks like /8ball is just about as useless as /giphy! I always have to scroll through a ton before i get an acceptable gif. I guess you could say in the world of /giphy, a 1000 gifs are worth one word.
@ircon96
If you want to cut out the randomness you can go to Giphy.com and then select the one you want from a search. click on the chosen gif, click the share button then the copy the link box , then paste the link in the post and
@chienfou Thanks for the info, I’ll have to try that, i didn’t realize links would pop up with the actual gif. That’s what i get for trusting robots to do a human’s job!
I bought these last go around, very nice hats, I choose the colored over the men’s, but to compare at $120. common guys that’s a good way to lose integrity, WAIT I FORGOT THIS IS MEH lol, Honest great product here well made .NITE !!
My mom knits hats/beenies like these except they’re much more beautiful AND they’re made with love. LOTS OF LOVE!
If anyone wants one just whisper me your address and I’ll send it out. No charge and NO rush either!! I’ve also got a few beautiful kids sweaters and 2 baby sweaters to give away. (sizes are 4T and 9 months) She’s been giving me some to give to people in my Buy Nothing group. I haven’t posted the last batch yet so it’s my pleasure to send them out to any one of you guys. Request pics if you’re picky.
@Lighter my daughter is a freshman. And like most, they wear weather-inappropriate clothing. You know boys wear shorts and girls wear skirts and it’s -15° out
@Lighter I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s been wondering where the term “beanies” came from! We always called them knit hats or stocking caps, or just the generic “winter hats.”
How much is the shipping for these if you’re NOT a VMP member? (I happen to be a VMP, but thought I’d let friends know who live near places that have endured natural disasters, in case they want to donate.)
I think these are like the ones I purchased awhile ago, and they seemed quite nice (bought the ones without pom-poms). Gifted a few as stocking stuffers, and gave a few to a homeless shelter.
If they SEEM itchy, best to launder and rinse in vinegar, or if you prefer, use fabric softener in the rinse cycle - just a suggestion.
Happy(?) blizzard days, ya’ll in the Northeast. Just an inch here where I live - phew!
Gave these as stocking stuffers and they’re good for a climate that is not cold often, so unlined but they do the job if it’s not crazy cold. The men’s are not as soft as the women’s. The slouchy ones are big and I am not sure that I like the look but it stays on anyway. Just noticed the Hand Wash and will need to be reminding someone of this and hope to be in time.
Bought this last week from sister site morning save same exact ones. Quality is not great. Very thin and they are meant for big head sizes. I wouldn’t recommend them.

Time to make a beanie burrito!
My mom knits beanies.
@fuzzmanmatt, I’ll buy six Beanies from ‘Mom’ for $20!!
They’re just beanies? No built-in bluetooth headphones or LED lighting? Am I on the right site?
@awk we really liked the bone collector bluetooth beanies. Been wishing I’d see them again.
@awk, but they do have your choice of Pom, or no Pom,… Now, that IS meh!!
Like beanie babies, this deal is as worthless as the non-existent mehrethon.
Oh no, the Particularly Stupid Pokemon Joke has a particularly minor typo: Peak should be Peek, unless there’s a mountain / rock-type pun I’m missing.

I make patches with the lasers and slap em on these things!
IRK bag not included.

I read Porn faux fur!
@bgammill
that would be a merkin!

@longtones @mcemanuel durable, but just okay comfort. Good for temps to about freezing, maybe a little lower if there is no wind.
@alose @mcemanuel thanks!
Cool!
@boygenius1991 wool makes my head itch. I have these hats and have no problem with them making me itch

Better not tell you now

As I see it, yes
Figures!

@ircon96 @Lynnerizer I thought those answers were pretty accurate!
@ircon96 @Kyeh @Lynnerizer
Evasive, but accurate, yup.

@omally, I hope you realize you, yourself, have Two!! JSYK!!

When did “watch caps” become “beanies?” What do freshmen wear nowadays?
@Lighter I keep wondering how “stocking caps” turned into “beanies.”

@evgrosen $6, IIRC
@lisagd - Thank you! I had to look up IIRC - “if I recall correctly.” “The more you know…”
@evgrosen I tend to use more abbreviations when I’m not wearing my glasses.

I’ve got to untrain my brain from checking this site every day. Just straight up boring garbage day after day.
@jaypeeh
@jaypeeh But then you’ll miss all this scintillating conversation in the forums!
More like creamium beanies
and these are called Touques (eh) for those of the far northern persuasion.
