@techpawpad I’ve posted the best image I could find of a different flavor candy from the company below. P.S. - The product is actually made in Mexico!!
Among the things I don’t need to buy today is an assortment of candies costing $40, particularly given that 30% of them are a flavor I don’t want. In fact, I really need to not buy candy at all. I haven’t finished the Halloween leftovers from last year, and those are Mounds bars, which I happen to like. .
I just can’t bring myself to spend $40 on candy I’ve never tried before, even if some of it is in skull shapes. If it was a lot of 20 for $20, I’d be a lot more tempted.
After some more sleuthing, I’ve obtained an image of the BACK OF A BAG of this “Swedish” candy that just happens to be MADE IN MEXICO!! So for those wanting nutrition info and ingredients this is the best I could find even though it’s not one of the products being offered. It’s a starting point anyways.
@Trinityscrew I’d say these would be best bought by those with no self control so they will consume the entire stash within a week or so. Then it won’t matter which set of dates is acurate.
@jerminate that’s not really an option with these, what they’re doing is reselling the wholesale packaging which is usually 40-48 in each box so in order to do what you’re saying they’re gonna have to open each every box and remove 20 bags each so it’s not really a feasible in this situation.
And even though how they sell by date, that’s not necessarily the expiration date like with milk as long as you don’t open it it’s gonna be good for up to two weeks after the sale by date and shelf stable product like canned goods, candy have a long extended expiration date which sadly you can think the preservative chemical port and everything these days
@cory206sea a lot of people wrongfully assume sell by date means it’s bad, can’t eat it, it’ll make you sick or automatically throw it away which is simply not the case, even though how they sell by date, that’s not necessarily the expiration date like with milk as long as you don’t open it it’s gonna be good for up to two weeks after the sale by date and shelf stable product like canned goods, candy have a long extended expiration date which sadly you can thank the forever chemicals/preservative chemical port and everything these days
Oh hey, I’ve had these! I tried them when I saw the banana toffee at Plaid Pantry then bought all the flavors they had.
The banana toffee ones have a weird flavor, not quite fake banana, not quite fake toffee. Not bad, not awesome. But the texture is amazing, it’s almost like a softer swedish fish that doesn’t get stuck in your teeth. Probably the best gummy texture I have ever tried.
Unfortunately, the raspberry-lemon ones have a regular swedish fish texture and gum up your mouth. Really nice flavor, sour and sweet, it captures the essence of a raspberry lemonade while not tasting like one. If it had the texture of the banana toffee it would be unstoppable.
The plain raspberry were not an option when I got them. They had strawberry and cream which is a tiny bit gummier than the banana toffee but still excellent. Except it tastes like chemical runoff and I could barely swallow it.
If these people got together with the people who made the grape Japanese shreddy gummies that were here a year or two back, they could probably made the best candy of all time.
I will debate buying this because the raspberry seem like a better alternative to the strawberry, but like everyone else said, it’s just so much candy to buy at once and it’s a bit pricey.
@OutbackJon I can’t leave nobody along the whole line from creation to final production. Saw that you’re candy. Name is another word for Scum, this reminds me of the diet pill from the 80s called Ayds (AIDS) and release them in the middle of the aids pandemic
You buy 40 things of candy and love them and eat them before they expire- you gain 10lbs.
You buy them and hate them and start pawning your candy on people and they start to question why you bought 40 bags of candy you don’t like.
You buy them, like them and eat like an adult, 35 bags expire, you look for more and find out you can no longer get them.
The only half-win is giving these as trick R treaters, only you run out, and kids get angry and TP your house with their parents stockpile of pandemic 1 ply toilet paper that rips in a million pieces.
@Sorry_Nothing My gf has been buying the banana toffee flavor at Target for months now. So if you live near one it shouldn’t be too hard to get. Banana flavored anything isn’t for me but I do like their Tutti Frutti flavor which (un)fortunately isn’t included in this deal.

YUM YUM!! Let’s all eat SKUM!!

@MrGoodGuy Skum means foam and is a style of Swedish candy that’s airy and marshmallow-y
@MrGoodGuy @Trogdor248 Sooooo, Danish are foamy?!?!?
@Trogdor248

I’m sorry, if Mister Magenta tells me to try his ‘Gum-diddly-Globs’ I’m calling the police.
@Trogdor248 Trogdor you say?
@capnjb @Trogdor248 Burninate!

these are not dala horse candy 🫤

@Pony at $1/bag, I am not even close to tempted.
Only Swedish Candy I like are FISH!!
/image Swedish fish

I’ll stick with Swedish meatballs at Ikea…
If we can’t even see the ingredients, no deal. And that’s a lot of expired candy, and it’s $40. I’m with @Pony…

@MrGoodGuy Thanks much! Stock ingredients… sugar and more sugar suspended in modified food starch. not yum. Bleh!
@MrGoodGuy To be fair, I just had Mexican food that was made in Maryland
But I stopped reading about this product after banana… heh.
@MrGoodGuy Mine were just delivered and they’re all made in Sweden
Candy that’s not Sweet, just Sweetish?
@phendrick Candy that they want you to think is Swedish, but it’s Sweetish and made in Mexico? WTAFBBQ?
@werehatrack
Or maybe not. See above
Lots of sugar…
@Mandamm it’s candy what else would be in it

The write-up says, “Best by November 2026 to January 2027”
The specs say, " Best by 10/23/2026-11/27/2026"
Which is it?
@Trinityscrew I’d say these would be best bought by those with no self control so they will consume the entire stash within a week or so. Then it won’t matter which set of dates is acurate.
@Trinityscrew Its sugar, in food starch. Its really not going to go “bad” any time soon. Sort of like Twinkies.
@outdoorslife @Trinityscrew The actual date range is 10/23/26 - 1/11/27. There is only one variety that has a batch of 10/23/26.
These look good, but I don’t need to be buying 40 3oz bags of candy! If they cut the necessary order amount in half, then maybe…
@jerminate that’s not really an option with these, what they’re doing is reselling the wholesale packaging which is usually 40-48 in each box so in order to do what you’re saying they’re gonna have to open each every box and remove 20 bags each so it’s not really a feasible in this situation.

$40 is too much to drop on a single order of Meh candy. Especially when it “expires” in a few months. I’d be in at $20 for 20.

KRULL! A SKULL! BRETT HULL! AWESOME!
@otherstalin
This is how I feel about every seltzer I’ve ever tried, and I wouldn’t call that complimentary.
@otherstalin “Plaid Pantry”…nice name drop.
neighbor!
@otherstalin Excellent review, thanks!
Half Georgia Red? . . . for that alone, meh.
I can’t be the only one who can’t wait to dig into a big bowl of Skum.
@OutbackJon I can’t leave nobody along the whole line from creation to final production. Saw that you’re candy. Name is another word for Scum, this reminds me of the diet pill from the 80s called Ayds (AIDS) and release them in the middle of the aids pandemic
There is a no win situation here.
You buy 40 things of candy and love them and eat them before they expire- you gain 10lbs.

My wife bought me the banana toffee flavor when she saw it at Hey Sugar. It’s actually pretty good and I liked the soft texture.

@YoMommaIsSo The time-out used to be about ten minutes. I think it’s been shortened a bunch. I haven’t tested this.
@werehatrack @YoMommaIsSo
It’s 5 minutes.
