@AaronLeeJohnson@Trinityscrew so I know human physiology, not dog but melatonin doesn’t really do calming. It is more a by product of a calm dark environment. For my money, theanine, ashwaganda, passion flower very calming. Mag citrate is a laxative but generally magnesium is calmning.
No idea what doses are effective in dogs. Personally I have the above supplements on hand for me and my family for as needed. Effective in people.
How soft are these? My 12 y/o pup is about to have effectively all his teeth removed. His vet says her older dog still eats hard treats but I’m skeptical that his royal majesty will be that hard core. So soft-ish seems better.
@DonWhiteside They’re pretty soft. I use the ‘standard’ ones for my pup (they’re not offered here) and she hates crunchy treats. She will eat these, though. She is not, however, always happy about it. She usually takes it from me already pushing it out with her tongue, sometimes she spits it out, but she always eats it. No where near as difficult as giving her a pill. Just a little hesitation involved.
@spazzoo magnesium citrate is a laxative. I don’t see doses nor do I know anything about dogs really. But that could be a cause. Plus all these herbs and supplements could cause GI effects anyways honestly.
Same situation for me as one of the other commenters. I received the box of 360 chews that expire in three months. That should definitely be mentioned in the product description that they’re on sale because they’re about to expire. It’s not possible to give my dog all of these before they expire even if I gave the max amount per day. They were meant to be for occasional use and now I have to throw half away or give half away. Regretting my purchase for sure.
My dog loves the flavor. She has only been taking them 4 days. I am hopeful! I saw the exp date but most things can be used after exp date with the same effectiveness.

@mediocrebot REALLY!
@lonocat @mediocrebot That area is too tidy for a realistic dining room for a cat.
@lonocat @mediocrebot @phendrick give it a minute
Calming treats? What is there CBD in the treats? I might get the probiotic one, but the calming one sounds like hokum.
@AaronLeeJohnson The calming treats have melatonin. That’s what does the calming.

@AaronLeeJohnson @qazxto @Trinityscrew hm… Maybe I should order some for myself
My wife makes sure the dog gets better food than me. She has to approve all the food.
At least I get more quantity and have the figure to prove it.
@hchavers and the problem is…
.?
Would be nice to pick four not the same!
@joeywolf I have Newfoundland dogs, so I’ll buy a couple sets. We’ll go through them in no time.
“Good For Joints And Poops And Attitude”
I need help in all 3 areas…where’s the human version of these?
@phonepole My thought exactly.
Maybe a silly question but, any chance these can be fed to cats?
@nonlion my guess is that it depends. Talk to your vet. They’ll have more knowledge about dosing, tolerance, etc.
Variety pack please!

Oof idk about the rest but the Calm chews gave my dog what can only be described as “multiple bouts of the squirts” every time we tried giving her one
Buyer beware
@spazzoo combine with the probiotics, maybe?
@spazzoo magnesium citrate is a laxative. I don’t see doses nor do I know anything about dogs really. But that could be a cause. Plus all these herbs and supplements could cause GI effects anyways honestly.
Please get more of the standard 8-in-1 chicken chews! I only discovered it because of Meh last year and they’re a little pricey without a sale.
These calming chews work great!
I received the calming chews, unfortunately the expiration date is September 2024. No way I can use 360 (4x90) in 3 months!!!

@machination @cecedeville No, you don’t have to throw them away.

(Also, the best-dates were posted in the specs above.)
Unable to open the cans! I had to cut them open. I am a large, very strong man and the tops were practically welded on.
My dogs don’t seem to like the flavor of the calming ones.
