@MrGoodGuy I got some from the last mehrathon (I can’t say if they’re the same carrying case or not though). Here are a few pics—theres even a sticker on the tag.
@MrGoodGuy I’m thinking it’s poor wording. This looks like the same as a previous listing. If so, all 4 are the same size (24x48).
The included carrying bag is nothing to write home about. I almost immediately tossed mine.
They dry OK, but they’re great for laying on the beach because sand basically falls right off of these. XL for the beach and L for pool chairs. Both pack very small and are very light weight.
I’m generally not a fan of microfiber fabric but I have microfiber towels, not these, that I use for my hair. Not the ones that you wrap up in a turbine although I guess you could I literally just use them too help dry my hair. They dry it a little bit quicker and they’re lightweight and they stay relatively soft. I don’t put them in the dryer because they don’t need to they come outside. The price on this is really good because I think I paid about $14 for one about half this size. My other one is a different brand and it was less expensive. If I had Elite sewing skills I’d buy these and cut them in half but I don’t
@Cerridwyn@Kyeh They have to be cut with a laser or heat knife to keep the unfinished edge from fraying or rolling. If they’re woven, they’ll fray. If knit, they’ll roll or unravel. Setging is the answer.
@Cerridwyn@chienfou@Kyeh Unless you have an incredibly steady and skilled hand with that lighter, you’re going to end up with crunchy bits along the edge in places. (Voice of experience. Maybe this is why most sergers have the ability to trim the edge off as they stitch.)
I used these at the beach last time, basically as big blankets to lay out / lay on. A good shake and the sand all comes off, too. (But yes, not at all thick / soft, they’re thin and flat - though still fairly absorbent.)
@dave you got the 48"x84" ones we sold at 4-for-$20 last round – these are half that size, but no reason you still can’t double 'em up and lay out on them!
@dave@troy 2x4 = 8 sq ft vs 4x7 = 28 sq ft so these are 2/7 = 28.56% the size of those previously sold.
Math matters. (Not to be confused with Mehth, myth, or meth.)
@dave we just used these yesterday at a music festival. Laid down 2 one an top of the other, the first soaked up the rain from the ground and the top one kept us from getting wet butts. Worked awesome!
Except for my 2 microfiber towels they must think are junk, my roomies steal all my towels before thinking about washing some. I’m in: raspy-massive-hornet seems appropos.
While I am also not generally a fan of microfiber, we just took a cross-country trip in an RV and these were super practical. Towel you off effectively and then are dry again by the next time you need to use them when hung from the attached loop on a hook. These were perfect for that use case scenario, or for any camping you might do. As mentioned, sand etc doesn’t stick to these particularly so they’re great as (personal) ground covers as well.
I got the larger ones last time because we’re forever needing towels to take to the pool and with four of us they take up a lot of space. I’m not a fan of microfiber on my skin but they do the job and roll up smaller. The elastic band is handy.
So if you care more about form factor than anything else I’d recommend them.

We need details man!!

Microfiber but NOT terry. Yes, they are towels, but maybe not what you expect.

@Cerridwyn If they’re microfiber, couldn’t you cut them in half and not bother to finish the cut edge?
@Cerridwyn @Kyeh They have to be cut with a laser or heat knife to keep the unfinished edge from fraying or rolling. If they’re woven, they’ll fray. If knit, they’ll roll or unravel. Setging is the answer.
@Cerridwyn @Kyeh @werehatrack
Or a quick run down the edge with a lighter…
@Cerridwyn @chienfou @Kyeh Unless you have an incredibly steady and skilled hand with that lighter, you’re going to end up with crunchy bits along the edge in places. (Voice of experience. Maybe this is why most sergers have the ability to trim the edge off as they stitch.)
@Cerridwyn
Probably a good thing not to put them into a turbine, but you might try using these larger ones to put up your locks in a turban, instead.
@werehatrack
You maybe meant that the edges need to be serged.
@PhysAssist Was typo, yes. I noticed it too late to fix it.
@werehatrack

It took me a bit to parse it out.
I started using these for kids for pool towels. are not cozy but are super effective and don’t take up a bunch of room coming or going.

@dave @troy the 84" towels were fantastic. Would buy them again.
@dave @troy 2x4 = 8 sq ft vs 4x7 = 28 sq ft so these are 2/7 = 28.56% the size of those previously sold.

@troy Oops, good call.
@dave @phendrick @troy Mehmath sounds wooly and extinct.
The Wise Owl Microfiber beach towels are still in SideDeal @ 2 towels for $20. 48" x 84"
Sounds like a pretty good deal still, if other people want in on that.
@dave @troy @werehatrack
Maybe in the larger world, but seems fairly extant in these parts.
@Christo196 You talked me into buying them at sidedeal. Which means they’ll probably be back here at half price next week. Water park time!
@dave we just used these yesterday at a music festival. Laid down 2 one an top of the other, the first soaked up the rain from the ground and the top one kept us from getting wet butts. Worked awesome!
VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!

@Milyvan1 So buy more junk; hide them in yout trunk.
@phendrick No car, my friend.
@Milyvan1
StealBorrow one from your roommates?Got them last time - currently using one as table cloth.
Probably great for car detailing.
@yeld used have shamwow, same thing really at twice the price for one. It worked great for detailing
@cevans125 @yeld Did the shamwow guy just disappear from TV.? (or was he sliced & diced?)

@cevans125 @phendrick @yeld Billy Mays oxidized him.

TL:DR effective, pack small, lightweight, dry quickly =

I got the larger ones previously - I TNR cats and these are great as cage/trap covers.
Microplastics, hard no.
