@amgaweda I’ve never had jerky and don’t intend to try it so I’m obviously not an expert but it does seem expensive. Isn’t this the kind of thing that is a buck or two next to the register at the convenience store?
@troy my previous experience with bacon jerky was pretty bad, so that one’s a toughie for me. If a sample of sriracha bacon jerky finds its way into my box to convince me it’s so great, maybe I’ll buy it next go round.
I went for peppered and mesquite BBQ this time. Even though I bring everything to the table on this deal you can still be my indented-watchful-partner.
I hope my mail person actually delivers this. I was expecting a couple of packages today from an amazoning place. I watched the mailman go by. He even saw me standing at my front door. But I got a notice today saying my package couldn’t be delivered because they couldn’t get on the porch that’s BS and I took pictures. I’m probably not going to get it. Because he is very large and I had (2) 18 packs of full size candy bars in that package for someone that loves chocolate. I order stuff and get packages all the time from nobody else including the *sps has ever before had trouble getting on my porch. The lazy $()&74(.
@fairchild521 That sounds like a fairly large package for the mailman to deliver. I hear you though. I lose my mind when I get one of those emails saying delivery was attemptted when I know I was there. I actually changed my address on Amazon to include “leave packages on enclosed porch.”

Necessary detail? I mean, judge the mailman all you want for being a lazy ass as observed, but assuming just because he’s very large that he’s going to use his fat sense to ascertain that your package from Amazon has candy bars may be a little much. If he’s truly lazy, no way he’s searching Amazon packages for your yards of Snickers. Especially when there are more delicious treats that are easy to spot.
@djslack he isn’t fat. He is large. Tall and big. But not fat. I used to have trouble with him delivering packages of mine to another lady 3 streets over. Luckily she would bring them to me instead of keeping them. Ok
I got 2 orders of the pepper last time. Holy hell it was good. But geez we blew through those tiny packages in about 2 weeks. I hid the last package just to keep it from being inhaled. About 2 weeks ago while I was gone, the husband went scavenging through the junk cabinet and found it. I came home to a jerky husk. Lol. It’s good stuff. Def worth the insane price.
This is really good jerky. I bought the original peppered in September and it was great to throw in my daughter’s softball bag on game day. The whole team loved it. I tend to make my own but life is busy, so having it just show up is a plus In for two (8?). Stocking stuffed!
@cranky1950 The wild caught tuna at Wegmans is $28 a pound. It’s great, but I still have to prepare it. Those things at 7-11 that roll around on metal heaters sure are cheap. I bet only smart people shop there. #protip
I’m eating low carb and have had to stay away from every kind of jerky I’ve seen because they all have 7+ carbs per serving. This is the first I’ve seen that only has 1 carb. Very tempting…in fact, in for the mesquite and peppered…
Also lamenting the oversight of a variety pack. So… we recruit four forum friends to form a Mehrican Jerk Exchange, each buy a different flavor pack, then mail one to everyone else in their circle? Sounds like a lot of work. And postage. :sigh:
Is it that you’re paying for superior quality than other brands? I ask because you can get 16oz for $15 on Amazon. That’s more jerky for less moneyzzzzz. It’d even be somewhat justifiable if you got variety, but nope. That’s 11oz or less for $18? This isn’t meh as much as why?
Looks like all flavors are still available. I just purchased 3 of 'em. BBQ and Black Peppered drop-ship to son-in-law. Volcanic Jalapeno for a nephew, he grows and eats a variety of hot peppers; should love this. Jerky is what you take along on hunting trips. Dad’s Venison Jerky was great. But not the Elk batch, the meat is too stringy, flavor too bold. Any-hoo, order away, all flavors were still available a moment ago !
@jst1ofknd Mine might finally show up tomorrow (along with my IRK) if FedEx is to be believed. We shall see. I bought them for my husband since I don’t really like jerky very much and I’m pretty sure he’s forgotten about it just like I forgot about the tire chains he had me order from woot on 12/6 that still aren’t here either.
Hmmm, Meh I know shipping is not your specialty, especially quick shipping but normally your delivery window is reliable. Unfortunately, the jerky is a week late, and now I am not home for a week and its supposed to be sitting in my mailbox right now. I sure hope the bastard squirrels are enjoying the jerky because I am not.
Second time ordering this and I’m rather disappointed this time (and disappointed that I bought 8 bags). The jerky (original peppered) is WAY over done this time and is crumbly not chewy. The flavor is good but there is a… best way I can describe it is ‘pasty’ residue while eating it. We are only into bag 2 but this stuff 1) is nothing like the last round 2) is way over priced for the quality received and 3) is actually almost off putting with the mouthfeel. I’m crossing my fingers that the rest of the bags get better, but for now… there won’t be a third buy. #meh
