@somf69 Definitely. I got a set of these last time and they’re really a Small to Medium. If you think you need a Large or larger one then these are way too small.
@somf69 Or very small. Women’s 1SFA socks, for example, claim sizes 5-10. I wear a 5.5, and the heel goes above my ankle. I’m afraid these will be too big for me and not compress enough. Summary: There’s no such thing as “one size fits all.”
@bugger
You’re right about the getting old sucks! Well, for some of us anyway! My sister and mom who aren’t a single pound overweight, have eaten healthy their entire life, never smoked and get plenty of exercise are aging very gracefully!
I can only imagine how much better they’d be if they both weren’t workaholics!
…if I only would’ve known.
(If I only would’ve listened is more like it! )
Does anyone with actual experience with these want to give some non-snarky feedback? I’ve developed acute arthritis in one of my knees, so I’m tempted…
@haydesigner a gentle pressure can be therapeutic. Everybody will be different. Depending on how miserable you are you will be experimenting with many things. This is low risk. What is the quality or value of this deal? Not sure.
For arthritis also good to look into other things like healthy life style (smoking,drinking, certain foods) to avoid progression.
@haydesigner Well, I’m fairly snarky no matter what, & I snarked uptopic about one size fits all. And that’s my honest opinion in this post, too. My knees & their arthritis led me to get some compression sleeves for my knees. I ordered according to the company’s chart (they had multiple sizes & size charts for all) but the things were painfully tight. I ended up with the next larger size, which fit fine. Now, on some areas size might not be crucial, but the knees mattered (upper thighs). You might want to keep that in mind.
@haydesigner
Compression garments are GREAT for arthritis and achy joints and bones. I’ve been using them 24/7 for swollen legs for the past 9 months now, and have used them on and off throughout the years for arthritis and other various pains. Even the ones for your arches feel great on tired feet. They’re also good for pain prevention. My sister uses them when she knows she’s going to be on her feet all day and my mom had ALWAYS used her pantyhose/nylons for the same reason back in the 70-80’s before compression therapy even became such a big thing.
I have to agree with the one size doesn’t fit all, especially on legs. If you aren’t morbidly obese you’ll probably be fine. Said with a side eye because it doesn’t take much to be considered obese, 15-20lbs extra and you’re there!
GOOD LUCK!
@haydesigner I use compression sleeves on my knees when I work outside or lift stuff, and they help. However - they need to be sized accurately. Too loose and they don’t work and too tight will cut off circulation. Like any other clothing/wearables, the brand that works best for me may not work that well for you. Sometimes you have to try different ones. This is my favorite: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S8CB3G1/
@haydesigner Thanks for the recommendation. I’m going to try these. The last set I ordered would better fit my 4 year old great niece… And I ordered xl…
Wish me luck
The amazon ones come in different sizes… seems like that’d make more sense. do you guys only have one size so you’re listing it as “one size fits all”?
W00t has these exact ones (from the mothership), but also with different sizes. Click here
As someone who has had two ankle surgeries, I will occasionally put on a compression sleeve. As @gertiestn said, though, these will not fit everyone for the knee; otherwise, they will work for swelling and joint pain.
@SargassoC The “sizes” on Woot are really just different combinations of types (elbow and wrist, 2 knees, etc). Not actually different sizes of each type.
Bought these on one of the sister sites. They are just straight tubes with printing on them, so they don’t fit things like ankles especially well. and they are difficult to pull on over socks. definitely won’t replace a figure eight wrap.
@walarney as someone who unfortunately has to wear braces almost daily on multiple & different parts of my body (lots of vehicle/ATV/dirtbike accidents, 6 total shoulder reconstruction surgeries, ankle surgery, etc.), & has been wearing them for much longer than I even like to admit since I am “only” 39…
However, in my experience, which is based on limited data collected by me from me (& some family/friends), I have found that braces work MUCH better when worn as the 1st layer & not placed over or on top of socks, sleeves, shirts, etc… In some cases the brace may “rub” an area awkwardly which may make “require” wearing something underneath the brace, but that has only been with a few particular brands/types of braces, & even then its really only been on my shoulder braces like the EVS brand.
Again, whatever works best for you, my personal experience is they work better when placed directly against the skin/area that needs it & not on top of socks, sleeves or anything else.
Have a great day & I hope your ankle gets better!
P.S. If they feel like they are “just tubes w/printing on them” I would recommend trying a “McDavid Level 1 Brace”, which we find at our local Academy stores here in the Dallas area. They seem (IMHO) to provide a good level of “compression” to keep the joint &/or tendons/ligaments tight, which helps me quite a bit with pain & inflammation
Ninja Edit–Replaced “EVS/EVA/EVO brand of shoulder brace” with “EVS brand.” after I went & looked at the actual brand
@Bobina0527 walking is kind of important – realized i was being an idiot for not investing in a better brace. We don’t have the same stores here, but ordered a McDavid from Amazon. Thanks for the recommendation – and snapping me out of my stupidity.
@walarney I am so glad you invested in a better brace!! Now I just hope it works for your ankle as well as it has worked for myself! Also, I really think that wearing the brace as the bottom most layer, instead of sliding it on over socks, will greatly increase the comfort & functionality of it! Best of luck & let me know if you ever need any help, or if I can share any of my experiences which may help you make similar or better decisions based on the outcomes I experienced (hopefully “better” decisions as I have made more than my fair share!!)
Unless it’s for someone who’s not trying to maintain normal knee joint function, a knee brace needs to have an opening at the back. Without it, when the wearer squats down, the brace bunches up inside the bend, putting an unnatural force on the joint that tends to be jacking it apart. If you’ve never had this problem, be glad; the result can leave you limping for days.
@werehatrack Yeah, got to agree that knees are like actually super-important, and don’t want to mess with them with inadequate equipment. There are nerves both on the underside and the outer radius of the knee, and messing with them means part of your foot won’t work (as I learned from experience and was explained well to me by a neurologist. Luckily it did recover over time in my case, and by knowing what NOT to do).
Once I heard these were just stretch-tubes, I would say you probably don’t want them for complex joints. Might be fine for shins, other straitish-parts.
Need knee support for osteoarthritis in knees. Daughter needs knee an ankle support due to past injuries and grandson needs knee and ankle for track. We’re a mess.
I use an adjustable one. If you pull the Velcro really tight, it really helps. (According to my Amazon history the one I have is called “TechWare Pro Knee Brace Support,” but I’m sure they’re all about the same.

Time to stretch those joints or just switch to a bong.
@yakkoTDI smoke 'em if you got 'em
Guess the meh team didn’t want to spoil things by having two sellouts in a row…
One size fits all means if your 15lbs over weight these won’t fit you
@somf69 You got that right. One size fits all never, never does.
@somf69 Definitely. I got a set of these last time and they’re really a Small to Medium. If you think you need a Large or larger one then these are way too small.

@somf69 I’m not over weight but have muscled legs. Once size will not work for my knees.
I support my joints by lying motionless on the couch, works great!
@awk but leave your arms free for holding beer and remote
Are they compatible with Mac, the guy across the street who thinks “exercise” is something whose answers are in the back of the book?
Can never have enough of these. Getting old sucks. Need neoprene to assist these old bones
@bugger

@rockblossom Thanks for the link- I ordered one of those in Small (measurement = 16"). Arrives in <48 hours…
What is this, the Wish brand of-
Oh.
I guess the ankle compression sleeves should go over the compression socks you sold me?
Underneath would seem a little strange.
None of the Amazon “comparison” links are working.
@haydesigner fixed! I forgot the dang ol’ https://
Not one for the neck?
@Zott
I want one to use on someone’s mouth. It if is tight enough it might shut them up.
Ordering these online is like ordering clothes online, you know, because they are sleeves and they won’t fit.
@heartny We used to call that brick weed.
head shoulders knees and toes…
@JvB Look alive, it’s time to go.
@JvB @Trinityscrew Gotta get up, I gotta get up!
@JvB @nishthenarwhal @Trinityscrew Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!
Shoulder, bicep, elbow, arm… forearm, thumb, wrist, knuckle, palm… middle, pinky, index, ring…
You shouldn’t buy this meh thing.
The amazon ones come in different sizes… seems like that’d make more sense. do you guys only have one size so you’re listing it as “one size fits all”?
@cvaughan02 One Size fits Small to Medium IMO (base on getting these the last time around).
W00t has these exact ones (from the mothership), but also with different sizes. Click here

@Randeth Yep, I see that now. Oopsie.
Seems like only one size at Woot as well….
@spbell Oh, right you are.
When you order your knee brace from Wish
@Helmet0987 They’re even branded Wish…
What size are these? I need small.
@saidrae It appears that the only safe assumption is that they are size W (Wrong).

With my Dumb Moto phone, I can’t post any comments!
I worked at a pharmacy that sold things like this. The first size that people tried almost never fit.

@morwen Aww…I bet you wear it well!
How does the Xbox controller sellout but not these? You’d have to be an idiot not to get this.
@mexicantacos Although it can be argued that Xbox (and staying on the couch) can help your knees as much as these… maybe…
I use an adjustable one. If you pull the Velcro really tight, it really helps. (According to my Amazon history the one I have is called “TechWare Pro Knee Brace Support,” but I’m sure they’re all about the same.
@kostia But I don’t see any signs of velcro on these, making them not adjustable.
@kostia @xobzoo
Correct. These are “one size is what we got.”
My order showed up wrong, I got 2 wrist I didn’t order instead of more ankles.
@morwen
