@yakkoTDI No, it’s You light up my life
-less sun-scorched yard
(after 100+ days of 100+ heat and watering restrictions this summer, followed by two weeks of rain. Really?).
@IndifferentDude@macromeh Yes, i can definitely see Loggins, but there’s a more contemporary actor(?) or singer(?) who’s a dead ringer that i can’t think of & it’s right there!
@wickhameh That’s true except the stats don’t mention an angle, hence my referencing the Angel analogy. Guess the stat provider just had a Freudian slip.
@ircon96 Pretty good. I’d never heard of Anson Mount (nice name, btw). Looked him up and it’s a good match. But I think you really nailed it the first time with Eddie Rabbit. That’s a name for you too. And one I hadn’t heard in about 30 yrs.
Maybe the image is the combination of the two faces… “Mount Rabbit”.
@ekw@IndifferentDude@jonmeh Yes, in my dotage, i forget basic words all the time, it’s very disconcerting! Btw, idk if you’re into Star Trek, but Anson Mount is the captain in the latest series, “Discovery,” & is Black Bolt in the MCU, although I’m only familiar with him from the HOW series (which i miss! ). He looks a lot different as Capt. Pike!
@ekw@IndifferentDude@jonmeh Oh, one more thing, we always referred to composite faces as “the love child,” as in, if these two people had a kid, it would look like this person, so in this case, Jesus is the love child of Eddie Rabbitt & Anson Mount. Not too disturbing…
Thanks for linking to the review on the prior sale, meh. Not so much for the review, but for the missing info in the description about how many sets you can link to a transformer.
Per the thread, the max is one set (4 lights). So I guess the next question is: Is the transformer designed in a way to plug two of them into the same standard outlet?
Honestly though, if you wanted more than 4 lights in an area, it’d be better to find a set with a beefier transformer to daisy chain more lights rather than buying multiple sets of these.
In case anyone else was wondering… the manual states that “the modes are ON, Auto, 2H, 4H, 6H and 8H. Auto is the dusk-to-dawn function. The lights turn on at dusk and then turn off at dawn. 2H, 4H, 6H and 8H will turn on at dusk and then turn off based on the selected hours setting.”
@jester747 My Auto (dusk-to-dawn) isn’t working. On works with no issue. When it got dark, I turned it to the Auto function and it did nothing. I set it to the On function and I have lights. Not sure how to fix this. Any ideas?
@mysti_summer Try leaving it on the Auto setting for a day or two. Not sure how quickly these react to changes in light intensity. Also, is there any other artificial light perhaps casting on the photosensor making it think it’s not dusk yet?
@jester747 Thank you for responding! The place where I put the transformer was completely dark. I had to shine a flashlight on it to see the settings. When I turned the flashlight off, I got nothing. I will try the Auto setting for a couple of days to see what happens. Thank you for your help!!
I bought 2 sets of these last time they were offered. The quality of all components is quite good; better than I expected.
I used the transformers to run existing strings of path lights that the original transformers had failed on. They have been working perfectly for months and I’m very pleased with the purchase.
@IndifferentDude Huh? I don’t understand your comment. Are you implying that my comment was for self-gain or to be deceitful? That was not my intent; it was just to be helpful. If I made a similar comment previously (when these were offered a prior time?) I do not remember doing it, so it was an innocent mistake.
@jonmeh I believe you. The comment was made in jest; as you can see I upvoted your post earlier since I believe it was informative to those leaning towards buying these. Have a good day!
Bought two sets. I’ve had them installed for several months. Good build quality. The color of the lights is a little on the blue side, and just a bit too bright. I wanted more warm and subtle, so I covered the light surface with a piece of plastic which I painted yellow. It knocked the brightness down, and warmed it up significantly. Very nice light now shines lovingly on the wooden exterior of our home, and up into several of the trees. These are very easy to install as well.
I dunno. They could only afford to photograph one light and then make three copies of it in Photoshop. (Bonus points for flipping the last two to face the other direction.)
Either that, or there’s really just one light and you have to use your imagination to fill in the other three.
The imaginary ones would save electricity, I guess.
@tomthumb47 Thanks some times answers are confusing. I already have a 12 A/C transformer and wire in place i hope to replace an existing light and connection.
Got the email and was like “these sound amazing, I should order some! Did I order some last night?”
Lo and behold, while stoned late at night I CAN make good decisions!

@pdallek Given that Monday was Labor Day, all shipping gets delayed by at least a day (if not longer due to an added backlog). These are noted in the sale with an estimated delivery of Monday, Sep 12 - Friday, Sep 16 so it’s still early.
@dalesang I don’t know but be very careful with the connectors as apparently (according to the reviews on Home Depot) they break pretty easily and are “tricky” to attach.

@yakkoTDI Or your trunk.
@detailer @yakkoTDI Not much life in there, I think.
They set the stakes pretty high on this deal!!
I’ve gone solar.
Um … from the specs, is the “Light beam angel: 100 degrees” Celsius or Fahrenheit and is the Angel a friendly or nasty Cherub??
/giphy Angels
@IndifferentDude Why does Jesus look like Eddie Rabbitt? Oh, yeah, it’s /giphy, never mind.
@IndifferentDude @ircon96 Looks like Vin Diesel vs. 70’s Kenny Loggins to me.
@IndifferentDude Maybe it’s a beam that’s slightly wider than a right angle?
@IndifferentDude @macromeh Yes, i can definitely see Loggins, but there’s a more contemporary actor(?) or singer(?) who’s a dead ringer that i can’t think of & it’s right there!
@IndifferentDude @macromeh Omg, it just came to me…I’m pretty sure the one I’ve been thinking of is Anson Mount in his Hell On Wheels days!
@wickhameh That’s true except the stats don’t mention an angle, hence my referencing the Angel analogy. Guess the stat provider just had a Freudian slip.

@IndifferentDude @ircon96 looking for love, in all the wrong places . . .
@ekw @IndifferentDude @ircon96
I think I found the love though… “Composite!” That’s the word I was looking for when I said “combination” of two faces.
It’s like when I forget all my (kenny) Log(g)ins. I just go for a hike up Mount Rabbit, and then I remember.🏔

@ircon96 Hilarious!
And thanks for the tip. Definitely a Star Trek fan, but haven’t seen Discovery yet. Will ‘Mount’ an effort to check it out.
@jonmeh
/giphy well done, sir
It really confuses me when the products for sale actually appear to be decent quality products!

@ciabelle but find them where? and pay how much?
not arguing with you, just have not been able to find reasonable alternatives.
What if i prefer my landscapes dark & mysterious?
@ircon96 I believe they would like you to buy plenty of these but remember to leave them unplugged.
@IndifferentDude You should work in sales, if you don’t already!

@jonmeh Trying for ANOTHER write-up in a future offering I see!! Couldn’t settle for just one mention??

Will these lights run off an existing low voltage 12v AC connection or do they need the included transformer and DC voltage?
@cfurniss yes, that’s how I run mine.
@tomthumb47 Thanks some times answers are confusing. I already have a 12 A/C transformer and wire in place i hope to replace an existing light and connection.

@dasred I surrender.
@dasred If you edit/save a post, /giphy refreshes so your results can vary. /image stays the same, however.

@narfcake yeah, but if the GIPHY Gods deem it so, it stays.
Quick to charge you, but very S L O W to ship. WTF MEH?

@narfcake @pdallek FWIW… Mine shipped Thursday.
No instructions in the box! How do I set it up?
@dalesang I don’t know but be very careful with the connectors as apparently (according to the reviews on Home Depot) they break pretty easily and are “tricky” to attach.
Oh no, one light is not bright! Is this 90 day warranty listed from the manufacturer or meh? Thanks!
@jaywking It’s from Meh. Head for meh.com/support
