these are just ok. i bought them last time when they said they had a battery included (but didn’t) and got a refund.
the description as of 12:03 am edt still incorrectly says there is a battery included, so buyer beware.
the big problem with these is that the thread on the battery compartment is extremely flimsy, and every time you open it up it will drizzle plastic bits all over.
i emailed the manufacturer and they told me there was nothing they could do because meh is not an authorized seller, whatever that means.
Do not recommend these. Do not play nice with rechargeable batteries. Threading is horrible as mentioned.
Source: me. Ordered on last batch. Meh replaced DOA ones (thanks, meh!) Did not come with batteries they were supposed to come with either time, though.
Update, here is the exact text of the reply I got from Nite Ize:
When this product leaves our distribution facility, there are fresh batteries inside the unit, are you saying that there were no batteries in the light? Unfortunately, this is a product that has long been discontinued and we no longer have this product available for replacement. In addition, Meh.com is not an authorized Nite Ize Seller, so unfortunately our Worry Free Guarantee does not cover this purchase.
@elpepe we’re looking into this and will update the warranty info if needed. Generally, our manufacturer warranties are active and there’s just a confused support rep. If that’s not the case, we’ll change the info.
Sounds like another waste of money for a very meh purchase, from what you all are saying… I was half tempted until reading your reviews, thank you everyone.
Bought these last time, didn’t remember the “battery included” description, so didn’t get a refund. However, I like them. The versatility of them are well worth the $3 I paid last time, even without the battery. They are long and slim so easily fit in a purse which makes it is easy to find the flashlight. It is also useful for finding something in your purse. At this new lower price of $2.50 each it is an even better bargain. I plan to use them for stocking stuffers. Yes the threading is a little quirky.
I bought them last time also, I think they’re okay. They’re not super-durable, so you can’t go out at night and toss them around because they’ll break hitting the ground (voice of experience). But you can run around in the dark waving them and have fun and they’re useful for walks or rides at night. I keep the red one in the truck. And yeah, the threading on the battery compartment is pretty sketchy, but at $2.50 a shot I might get some more … I didn’t get batteries either but wasn’t expecting them. Luckily, there were some in the fridge.
@Bandrik@ripper69@stolicat It’s a member of the moray eel family according to Wikipedia and is commonly caught for use in aquariums, so I don’t think it’s poisonous.
Cross-threaded is still threaded! As a flashlight these are okay, not as good as my Streamlight, but better than my free with coupon Harbor Freight lights. As a glowstick, these are terrible. I have many battery operated glowsticks I’ve bought, some from meh, and these are the worst.
But this is Mother’s Day weekend. I hope you manage something cool for the moms in the next 2 days. You have had a few things in the last month or so, but really, glow sticks? A winter hat and gloves in the spring?
I bought the 3-pack of these a couple months ago, and they were perfect for demonstrating the properties of light to my physics class. I drew several differently colored squares on the whiteboard and covered them up with my projector shade. I then turned off the lights and shined a different color on the board and the students had to guess which color it was.
Bottom line, if you teach Physics or Physical Science (or want to show this neat little trick to your kid(s), these are a nice, cheap way of demonstrating!
I bought last time (at 3 for $9).
Two were DOA. Got a mediocre refund.
Remaining one working unit is okay. The glow stick portion is a really bad design – a single-color LED embedded in flimsy plastic wand with, as others have noted, awkward threading – but the white light makes a serviceable tight-spaces flashlight. At 4 for $10, it’s a possible buy if you can think of three people to give cheap gifts to.

I want to buy Irk’s purple shirt.
My dollar store has 100 lumen lamps for, uh, a dollar.

@elpepe Correct, there is no battery included. Updated now.
I’m a little confused. Are you getting 4 glowsticks or 12 for $10?
@jandrese Sorry about that, leftover numbers from last time when we sold 3 for $9. This is 4 for $10.
Bring back the Halo Lights.

If you guys wanted to start selling replica lightsabers I’d be very into that. Just sayin’
Question: Do each allow the “glowstick” part to glow the 3 different colors or do they only glow the color of its body color?
@Kerig3 the glow part only glows the listed color. the flashlight part is white.
you can switch the glow parts so that the black body one glows blue, for example.
@elpepe Thank you!
A normal marketing department would sell flashlight sabres on May the Fourth, and then there’s Meh.
It’s a Jedi bread knife!

@stolicat I had to look up what that creature is. It’s a Ribbon Eel! What a beautiful thing!
@Bandrik @stolicat Beautiful, but does it kill you? Half the beautiful things that live in the ocean can knock you flat by just looking at you!
@Bandrik @ripper69 @stolicat It’s a member of the moray eel family according to Wikipedia and is commonly caught for use in aquariums, so I don’t think it’s poisonous.
@Bandrik @klynb @ripper69 I had to read up them also after getting that giphy - I read that they are poisonous (apparently all morays all). It can live up to 20 years in the wild and get up to 4 ft long, but usually only a few years in aquariums. Another good reason not to capture wild animals. And they are all born male …

I bought some for our big birthday bash at our house that is sort of in the country, Sounds like great toys for the kids at night!!

Meeting the young grandkids this summer in the mountains. Hello: a useful gift for each of them!
Thank you monkfish for the reminder to check each of them for functionality when they arrive.
Did anyone try throwing a lithium 3.7v(4.2v) in one of these?
Happy Mom’s Day - to Mom’s everywhere ! ! ; )
These are good substitutes for lighters and cell phones as something to wave at a concert. I’ve posted the link on the two K-pop forums I belong to.

@klynb the “/” commands need to be a separate line. I don’t know why …

No
Didn’t I just buy 3 of these for $9 like a month ago? FTW? I want the fourth for a dollar and no extra shipping.
2 of four inoperable i had the battery in backwards and fried one the other never lit. Bad deal this time boys.
I got these and blue one didn’t work (color child wanted the most), a 75% is a failing grade. Dud
@pegkocevar around this neck of the woods 75% is a solid C. Of course, we’re not known for our education.
I bought 4. They all have internal shorts, lights don’t turn on battery gets hot as hell.
