“Nightlights that glow red don’t sound very soothing to us”.
Who needs soothing? We’re trying not to trip over the coffee table.
We use a lot of them and they are wonderful in that they don’t disturb sleep, preserve night vision, and insects don’t seem to know they exist - good in the garage/patio.
@Thinkerer Came to the forum to express my surprise that I’d never seen or thought of such a thing — night-vision-preserving nightlights seem like a no-brainer! I may have to get one or two…
(or perhaps a red color gel for a regular nightlight?)
@agnesnutter@Thinkerer but the real question is do they include a speaker that only plays soft jazz since you have setup your own red light district? (If it was a Bluetooth speaker, they might carry them here)
@Thinkerer All the lights in my house that I leave on at night are red. They don’t disturb my sleep. I bought a bunch of Blisslights from Meh that all turn red at 10 pm (no need for Amazon or Google home…). We turn off all the other lights and that lets the dogs know it’s time to sleep. I love red nightlights!
@MrFred I was thinking the same thing, and I’ve got some that are. But there are some locations I’m realizing I’d rather keep lit (e.g., the stairs). The squares are tempting.
@joelmw@MrFred There are lots of motion activated battery powered under cabinet LEDs that work very well and are in a convenient form factor at the same price range.
@luseruser went to the manufacturer website and it looks like the bars DO NOT have light sensing - you have turn them on and off manually. So not really a “nightlight.” More of a “light”
Forget the Night Lights, I want to know where I can get a “tiny, hyper-realistic mouse-bot with a built-in camera and microphone and limbs controllable via nodes attached to my body” that connects via a VR headset!
In the glow of one of your nightlights, observe two mice interacting. Doesn’t it look almost like they’re having a conversation?
Not A conversation, THE conversation from 19 74…

I guess you could get these, then give them to your Special person for Valentines Day, telling them that “You light up my Life”

If only they were motion activated
@MrFred I was thinking the same thing, and I’ve got some that are. But there are some locations I’m realizing I’d rather keep lit (e.g., the stairs). The squares are tempting.
@MrFred The motion-sensing ones i have flash when the battery is low. Waking up to them on and flashing was a bit scary. lol
@joelmw @MrFred There are lots of motion activated battery powered under cabinet LEDs that work very well and are in a convenient form factor at the same price range.

More like 5 - 33 are optional if you buy these.

Do they shut off in daylight?
@luseruser- Yes, all it takes is a flip of the swirch With Your Finger!!
@luseruser The square ones definitely do, not sure about the bars

Step 34
Rule 34
The mice got him just like that boy with the tent pole got diaper Don.
Too much beeping light pollution now, don’t need to add to it. Want to shoot out all the security lights that people leave on all night
@Johncv These are indoor. The security is more about not bumping into stuff.
I’m pretty sure steps 5-34 in the write-up are just ripping off the plot to Being John Malkovich with mice instead of humans.

Every single night before I go to bed I think -“You know what modern society needs? More LEDs everywhere. Especially the ones that don’t do anything.”
@user56039068 I agree … with googly eyes.
/showme Lazy Anthropomorphized LED with googly eyes is sitting on couch drinking a can labeled “Jolt!” and watching TV show of LED people.

No battery?
@arrangeuneven Nope. In my considered opinion, that makes some of the pictured installations very iffy.
@werehatrack that makes this a non-buy for me.
“Soft white.” a.k.a. not white, but orangish beige.
Eh, I didn’t need any plug-in night lights anyway.
Red nightlight sounds heavenly actually. . stop projecting.
Ordered one set of 4 of each, today received 6 of the bar shaped ones. We’ll see what CS can do …
