Water resistant to 1 meter, dustproof and shockproof
Edit and share videos via the mobile or desktop apps (videos can be viewed in the app instantly but must be converted in the app to export in a 360° standard if uploading elsewhere)
@TheFLP Yup, faceted. I can’t imagine any practical purpose for the facets, so I guess it was just a design choice? Unless it’s supposed to keep it from rolling away.
@ruouttaurmind@TheFLP I imagine it’s so you have many options in setting it down and having a multitude of angles at which to point it, without the absolute necessity of a tripod.
@ruouttaurmind I thought about it, but it’s too late and I would need to find the coupon email. I will just try and fail to remember to use it next time. Unless it expires.
@sammydog01 I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a bit of a disappointment. But what the heck. For $30 I’ll fuss with it a bit then give it to One f the kids at the office.
@ruouttaurmind I got mine fo film my kid water skiing but the weather turned before it arrived. So I’ll use it for that at least. And I have some squirrel clips.
I have two of these i picked up off Morningsave. A BIG disclaimer here should be these cameras are water resistant ONLY if you have the rubber mic hole plug in. Which these do NOT come standard with. If you submerge this camera as is you will destroy it. You’ve got to go find one of those little rubber plugs.
That being said these cameras are well worth the price. You can link multiples together in the phone app. Also the app isn’t great and there’s almost no support available but still worth the purchase price IMO.
@MojoFilter Might be the case but none of the cameras I bought from morningsave came with the plug. I received my second one just two days ago. We’ll see once they actually ship.
@Inkydog Just got mine today and no rubber plug Also no warranty card or quick start guide in the box even though the box listed them as being inside. But…it works and for the price I’m not disappointed.
The resolution seems super low. The difference I’ve seen between even 1080p and 4k 360 images is profound. 720p seems incredibly low for a 360 degree view.
@GabeTheEngineer@hellphish The silverlining is that it takes up less disk space. I’d say it’s good for a beginner exploring interactive video to VR platforms.
Is this water resistant to 10meters (as the product bullets state) or 1 m (as the top of this thread states)? One of those means I take this snorkeling with me on my cruise in March, the other means I’m not wasting my time.
Is anyone else having a problem registering a new account? It looks like the 360fly website is down. Cert Errors … Does any software besides their own app work with the Camera? Just got the camera in the mail and trying to set it up.
I am having the same problem. when I try and register from the app on my phone, it says no internet, even tho its there. And online register get internal server error.
@Bayleedog1 Camera appears to work with app, and you can edit the MP4 file it generates with VSDC in 360 degree project. None of the online functionality works, but good enough to learn how to edit 360 videos. Wish I didn’t spring for the accessories, though.
Excited to use it, downloaded the app, meh, doesn’t connect to internet, connects to camera, but not the viewer. Look for quick guide, meh, no documentation in box. Go to the website, meh, issue with certificate. Go to the Google Store to read comments, reply from company is to email support. Going to try, fingers crossed. I am fearing another fiasco like the dead Olio watch in my drawer. Too good to be true.
so, got this yesterday. Not a single instruction included. Got the app downloaded and it keeps trying to connect my phone to the camera as if the camera was a wifi hotspot, which of course removes my internet completely. Anyone know how to use this P.O.S.?
@moose3425 Connect via Wifi, enter password “00000000”. It will switch between Wifi hotspots as you navigate between tabs on App. I recommend that you change the Wifi password on the camera once you are connected. This is done via the settings, which change based on the tab you are active on.
Cannot get with 360 to register, (website is broke ass) finally got a contact form submitted. Oh ya forgot to mention on second use the power button and all its guts popped out in the weeds. Waiting to see if they will stand behind it.
Between Jan 19th and the 23rd the website SSL certificate was expired. This prevented the App to connect to the mothership or access to the website. It should work now.
having just seen footage from one of these cameras mounted on the roof of a car, all i can say is … i doubted this camera but it is perfect for track day and now i need one.

You’re welcome.
This ain’t quip brand toothbrushes.
@vinuash In that you might actually get this item if you order it…
@shahnm you’re hurting me, pls stahp
@vinuash I sometimes hold a grudge.
Meh all around
How can this thing fly??
@Hanky
This was on here before. Video quality is not very good. Much meh.
@sixfootgeek What about image quality? I pretty much only want 360° stills.
So who’s going to use this thing to make their own (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) “home movie”?
@phendrick Why would you want a 360 degree video of one of us winking and nudging? Are you one of those weirdo freak types??
@phendrick @shahnm more nudging and less winking.
At first I thought they just printed a low-poly camouflage on it, but that’s an actual faceted surface, isn’t it?
@TheFLP Yup, faceted. I can’t imagine any practical purpose for the facets, so I guess it was just a design choice? Unless it’s supposed to keep it from rolling away.
@ruouttaurmind
Xtreme industrial design.
@ruouttaurmind can’t imagine a practical purpose? imagine wanting to set it down without it rolling away…
@pobrecito well, as I wrote last night…
@ruouttaurmind @TheFLP I imagine it’s so you have many options in setting it down and having a multitude of angles at which to point it, without the absolute necessity of a tripod.
Ya, sure, why not. Gives me a reason to burn my last VMP coupon.

Now that’s one unflappable kitty.
@ruouttaurmind I can has escalator?
@mehcuda67 Heh. He’s more like “I has escalator.” It is a cat after all.
@ruouttaurmind Damnit, I always forget about that coupon. Oh well.
@Lister If you already placed your order, you can cancel it and reorder with the coupon.
@ruouttaurmind I thought about it, but it’s too late and I would need to find the coupon email. I will just try and fail to remember to use it next time. Unless it expires.
@Lister @ruouttaurmind Isn’t it VMPBRIBE?
Testing? Why wouldn’t it let me post?
@Dizavid forums seems to be wonky and screwing up tonight
cc @dave
@communist @dave @Dizavid wonky how specifically? Can’t fix it if we don’t have a starting point to replicate.
@dave @Dizavid @Thumperchick thats the problem, its hard to replicate, twice in the past hour i have tried to comment and it goes to an error page
@communist @dave @Dizavid @Thumperchick That’s just normal forum function. Part of the whole Meh experience.
I regretted passing on this when it was sold the first time. So glad it came back and that I’m starting a new job! Hell yeah, gimme gimme!

@Dizavid That gif was like a mini-series…

My camera phone is way to good for my talent (ok, lack of talent). Why waste this advanced photographic machine on me?
Omg that green!
and Why?
I skipped this the first time and was sorry I didn’t buy it. They it came up on Morningsave and now I have buyers remorse. It’s cool though.
@ruouttaurmind @sammydog01
Are squirrel clips just binder clips by another name, or are they specially modified for clipping squirrels?
(And jeez, how do you get the little freaks to stay still long enough to put a clip on them anyway?)
@ruouttaurmind @TheFLP Dart guns.
@sammydog01 @TheFLP https://www.facebook.com/SneezySquirrel/
@ruouttaurmind @sammydog01
Are we sure it’s not an animatronic squirrel robot?
@TheFLP For @sammydog01’s sake, I sure hope not because she’d have to get one.

@Inkydog The dude in the video above says it comes with a mic hole plug.
@MojoFilter Might be the case but none of the cameras I bought from morningsave came with the plug. I received my second one just two days ago. We’ll see once they actually ship.
@Inkydog not too cool
@GabeTheEngineer you are absolutely right. It is less than 2k pixels for the entire video, and you only ever see 60ish degrees of it at a time
@GabeTheEngineer @hellphish The silverlining is that it takes up less disk space. I’d say it’s good for a beginner exploring interactive video to VR platforms.
Came here to say today’s joke pic is awesome.
@PooltoyWolf
I imagine a world full of camera lizards live-streaming on the internet, throwing society into chaos. Or out of, as the case may be.
@TheFLP Hahaha yes!
Can’t wait to try it!

Me: I can’t get this cough checked out, they’ll charge me a $40 Copay!

Let’s be honest. This is really only a 240° camera. Not. 360°…
@HutcH from the manufacturer:
@HutcH When you spin around do you call it a 0 degree turn?
@meverett then every camera is a 360° camera if you think rotating a camera counts.
@HutcH @meverett How many degrees in a circle? 360. It doesn’t have to be a sphere to have 360 degrees.
If you want to get started with VR videos this is a good platform.

I received my camera today. Reasonably timely shipping.
No quick start guide, no mounting devices, no plug. And I can’t register it. MEH.

@sylentryder Found out how to connect and use viewer. Connect via Wifi, default password “00000000”. There is a software issue, you may have to restart the camera and reconnect every time. I tried the support number on site. No answer.
https://360fly.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/235018188?input_string=app+not+connecting+to+internet
@sylentryder Website certificate has been updated. Everything is working now.
