@IndifferentDude I’m pretty sure today’s offer is just the knobs. It hasn’t the juice, and wasn’t cooked with grease. I suspect that some things would change if you tried it with butter, but those little bags aren’t really giving off a “add butter to me” vibe.
@cutitdown I just opened another one, and yup, it has a faint rancid smell. Also the texture is a little bit … chewier for lack of a better word. It tasted fine though. They were good when I first got them.
Meh, you’ve strayed too far from the sun. You were supposed to bring us CANDY CORN. Not candied corn, not canned corn, and most definitely not corn nuts!
Add to that the .99c nonsense and I have to wonder if you’re getting ready for another octopus breakfast
The original set got a little hard toward the end of the run but they never went rancid for us. I must have bought 4 or 5 boxes of them the little tiny ones for work and people just glommed them down. So I hope you bring back more small ones because they are awesomesauce
@mcanavino
small bags that they offered last year. they were the regular ones. came like 300 packs to a box. looked a lot like samples they might have given out as an event or something you might have gotten on a pre-covid airplane flight.
So… If mass quantities of snacks are going to be a new regular feature on Meh, maybe there needs to be a Casemates for here. Get a few friends in for a reasonable amount each and share the love corn corn love.
Just because you like salted snacks does not by extension mean you would like them to add vinegar to said snacks. Salt and vinegar potato chips are not nearly as universally liked as their merely salted counterparts. Vinegar on corn? Pass.
/giphy vinegar is yucky
@katbyter but a percentage of those people who like salt and vinegar flavored snacks loooove salt and vinegar flavored snacks and would probably buy salt and vinegar gym socks.
Savory Alternative - healthy snack swap for chips, pretzels, crackers, corn nuts
So corn nuts are a healthy snack swap for corn nuts?
I may actually be in for these. I do like corn nuts, and I like salt and vinegar, so it’s not really the same risk as 66 packs of lamb and rosemary flavored garbanzo puffs.
@djslack They want you to think these are not like Corn Nuts. And honestly, they aren’t. Even though the modern Corn Nuts snacks are less rock-like than the earliest version, that doesn’t make actual Corn Nuts “nicely crunchy” the way most salty snacks try to be. I will give the LoveCorn snacks this much; they aren’t nasty pebbles that test the structural integrity of your jaws and teeth. They’re somewhat higher in effort than most chips I’ve seen (some boutique kettle chips can be shaped and sharpened into decent shuriken) but they aren’t Cheetos (or Beaver Nuggets for those who are familiar with them) by any means.
@werehatrack I’ve had the ones from Buc-ees before and they are not as hard as corn nuts. From what I remember those eat like you’re making Fritos in your mouth. How good an experience that is depends on how one feels about Fritos I guess.
@JinksB I had to throw out about half a box from the last batch - I’d put them away and forgot about them, and yep, rancid, and inedible. But that was a lot more bags, about 8 lbs worth, I think…
I’m still enjoying the previous Sea Salt drop; gonna give these a try. I note that the individual packages are 4x the size of the Sea Salt one - 1.6oz vs 0.35oz.

I love Corn Nuts so I bought some “plain” (salted) Love Corn in snack packs when they offered it back in December of '21 and they didn’t taste right. I can’t exactly describe the flavor. Kind of bitter, maybe? But I didn’t like them. I threw them away.
Never again.
@Trinityscrew You might have had the same problem with them that I have with Fritos. 40+ years back, I used to adore Fritos, and then one day I bought a bag and something had changed in the recipe. They were Just Wrong. Every once in a while after that, I tried them again, and they were still … wrong. And then, about four months ago, I grabbed a bag of the local store brand HEB corn chips. AND THEY WERE WHAT I REMEMBERED! They were exactly the flavor of the old Fritos; the flavor that Fritos aren’t anymore. They taste like corn. Since then, I’ve kept some around. I dump the bag into a big plastic jar with a tight-fitting lid, to keep them fresh. Yum.
@Trinityscrew@werehatrack That happened to me with the Rowntree Lion Bar, basically a KitKat stuffed inside of a $100,000 bar.
It was my second favorite candy bar when I was in England in 1980-81. When I returned more than a decade later they weren’t terrible, but they were (and are) extremely meh.
Turned out Nestle bought Rowntree in 1988, moved production from England to France, and changed the entire recipe.
When I hit “buy” I somehow missed that these were Salt & Vinegar flavor. As I now look at the title, and the description, and the write up, I see that the only person I can blame is myself. I just assumed they were the same as the last offering. I will be taking these to work and giving them away…
I opened up my first package of these, and they taste… rancid? or something? I’m not sure how to describe it, but something tastes wrong.
I love other salt and vinegar flavored snacks, so the fact that this one tastes as bad as it does is surprising. I went in with low expectations too but I still ended up disappointed.
I got stoned about an hour ago and decided to re-try the corn snacks to see if they would taste any better while inebriated. Surprisingly, they do not. The more I eat, the worse I think they taste. These might legitimately be the worst snack I’ve ever had.
I reached out to the fine customer support folks on this website, explained the situation (I suspect the sunflower oil has legitimately gone bad or something), and received a refund.
Thank you Meh.com, I know I don’t buy much on this website these days, but next time you have another tasty snack on sale then I will try to buy it as a token of my appreciation.

@IndifferentDude Here’s your cheap ‘like’
Mama must be proud
@IndifferentDude I was really disappointed that the last picture in the listing wasn’t a picture of this kid.

/giphy chilling-scared-minion
These were pretty good last time, but they started smelling rancid pretty fast.
edit: Second time’s a charm…?
/giphy mischievous-decayed-orb
@awk yup, but I’m still working my way thru them…
@awk Huh, I have the pain salted from last time I think and they still seem totally fine.
@cutitdown I just opened another one, and yup, it has a faint rancid smell. Also the texture is a little bit … chewier for lack of a better word. It tasted fine though. They were good when I first got them.
@awk @cutitdown Mine, and my new dentures, are all both fine.
@awk I hope your order “number” isn’t an omen.
@awk @cutitdown, they must’ve passed their ‘Best By’ date, since they have a rancid smell!!
@awk @cutitdown @phendrick Yup, I’ve no dentures, so they’d be too much for my gums!
Fancy corn nuts?
Meh, you’ve strayed too far from the sun. You were supposed to bring us CANDY CORN. Not candied corn, not canned corn, and most definitely not corn nuts!
Add to that the .99c nonsense and I have to wonder if you’re getting ready for another octopus breakfast
@onae Meh did this because they are nuts and thought it would be corny to sell these.
/giphy dismembered-crude-frankenstien
Why do I think of feet when I see Love Corn Nuts?
@hchavers Salty Feet
@hchavers maybe you are a podiatrist who treats people’s corns…or maybe you were in a previous life.
@hchavers Maybe that’s what’s causing @awk’s rancid odor…?
The original set got a little hard toward the end of the run but they never went rancid for us. I must have bought 4 or 5 boxes of them the little tiny ones for work and people just glommed them down. So I hope you bring back more small ones because they are awesomesauce
@Cerridwyn Unfortunately all yellow corn kernels are roughly the same size.
Thank you for loving Love Corn!
CHAT HAS ENDED.
@Cerridwyn @mcanavino Cuzco corn isn’t yellow? I thought it was…
@mcanavino

@djslack This is a good idea!
@djslack Massive quantities of snacks here have been fairly common for years tho?
@djslack @GLaDOS They originally didn’t sell much in the way of snacks here unless we could eat speaker docks or knives and I just didn’t know it.
@djslack Good idea. If they get a mass quantity of pasta, they could call the site Pastadrop or something like that.
@djslack @GLaDOS @Kidsandliz
well you can eat with knives
For other folks’ sake, I hope these are better than the Habanero that I tried a while back. Those were awful.
@werehatrack if you like salt and vinegar chips, you will like these.
Kroger had the bags about half this size for 2/$1 not long ago. The salt and vinegar ones sold out quickly.
/giphy rotting-sticky-wraith
100.99 % meh.
@phendrick I think you are right 199.999999999% of the time.
@phendrick So, 100% ?
@blaineg No, more.
(Recall coaches that tell athletes to give 110%)

@katbyter but a percentage of those people who like salt and vinegar flavored snacks loooove salt and vinegar flavored snacks and would probably buy salt and vinegar gym socks.
@katbyter I’m with ya! Hate salt & vinegar anything, almost as much as I hate “pumpkin spice” anything!
btw there’s no such thing as “pumpkin spice”, but if you add spices to a pumpkin what do you have? Spiced pumpkin? A disgusting mess? You decide…
@katbyter @robson Did you hear Colonel Sanders is in jail? They found out the names of some of those secret herbs and spices.
So corn nuts are a healthy snack swap for corn nuts?
I may actually be in for these. I do like corn nuts, and I like salt and vinegar, so it’s not really the same risk as 66 packs of lamb and rosemary flavored garbanzo puffs.
@djslack
lol
@djslack Wait, where’s the lamb and rosemary garbanzo puffs? Are they a good price?

I’m in for one order.
Wow, it’s been 18 months since my last purchase on Meh.
/giphy polluted-geek
(escaped-polluted-geek)
If I wasn’t still working my way thru the last batch I bought, I’d get these. (Not rancid & still tasty btw)
@JinksB I had to throw out about half a box from the last batch - I’d put them away and forgot about them, and yep, rancid, and inedible. But that was a lot more bags, about 8 lbs worth, I think…
Yesss

Apparently I’m down for the snacks…garbanzos and now corn…I do really like corn.

@jetkins Creepy!
Did I just read “recycled corn?”
@TheCO2 Not even “refurbished”, which might be worse.
@werehatrack Clean that shit up and sell it.
@TheCO2 A friend says he was in the john at work, and hears the guy in the stall next to him exclaim: “Corn is amazing!”

What’s the Deal with corn Nuts!
I’m still trying to figure out 11/11
1.6 servings per bag? Gedouddaheah
I love Corn Nuts so I bought some “plain” (salted) Love Corn in snack packs when they offered it back in December of '21 and they didn’t taste right. I can’t exactly describe the flavor. Kind of bitter, maybe? But I didn’t like them. I threw them away.

@Trinityscrew
had i known would have taken them off your hands.
they got glommed down within a few days here.

@Cerridwyn @Trinityscrew
and when I put snacks on the ‘free table’ at work, they’re gone by the time I empty my bladder of morning coffee…
Or for Halloween baskets, but come to think of it, in the 32 years I’ve lived here I don’t recall a single trick-or-treater.
/giphy lowly-ominous-griffon
Only to be eaten here
Love Corn
Hate Teeth
I bought from the last batch and wish I’d bought 3x as much. I’ve tried this flavor and don’t like it as much but enough to jump on the deal.
If these were $18, NO DEAL but at this price I couldn’t afford not to buy them!
@TaRDy [razzberries]
If you don’t need the vinegar, Trade Joes sells Peruvian Giant Inca corn at a better price, $2 for 8 oz. I also prefer the bigger kernels.
I was thinking about buying them, but I think this guy has talked me out of it.
Ah, what the heck. At least I’m stupid enough to only waste $17 dollars on this.

Will someone just sell me one bag?
@mexicantacos I’ve bought individual packets at King Soopers (Kroger) and it looks like they carry them at Target.
Shipped already? What’s the catch?
@blaineg slow day at the warehouse? so we can start eating thrm before the best buy date? The clock is ticking.
@ironcheftoni And delivered.
This is just some twisted experiment with setting expectations, isn’t it?
When I hit “buy” I somehow missed that these were Salt & Vinegar flavor. As I now look at the title, and the description, and the write up, I see that the only person I can blame is myself. I just assumed they were the same as the last offering. I will be taking these to work and giving them away…
