Sure, I don’t see why not. Even the largest one doesn’t seem big enough for anything other than a small load though.
When we had to do that I found a large trash bag works great and then I just turned it inside out to use when the laundry was done.
@AaronLeeJohnson@Lynnerizer how breathable are the fabrics? I’ve had one or two have mold growing on the bottom after years of use and living in the basement half of the time.
@AaronLeeJohnson@pakopako
Oh that’s a good question. I know some basements are so damp that anything and everything gets moldy. With these, I would just dry them off by wiping them down or air them out after using them.
The ones I actually used in the Boundary Waters, Quetico and up north of that about a 1.5 or so week’s paddle (sometimes canoeing on the Albany river to James Bay) were rubberized bigger ones that actually did keep things dry and kept air in so they floated. These would be a fail on all those accounts. And they’d be too small for that. But if you wanted to keep things more or less dry in the rain (reviews say they leak through the roll top and the outside fabric gets wet - but doesn’t soak through) and didn’t have much you needed to carry they’d work for that.
Hefty bags are also waterproof. Am I crazy or is this just ridiculous? Waterproof comes with so many other bags for the same price with many more features. Waterproof is a bonus on a good bag and not an exclusive selling point on an ugly neon sack.
These look like the bags you fill with sand to keep your tent from flying away in the wind. They’re also usually waterproof and neon. And cheaper.
@ardycake And Hefty bags tear a whole lot easier. Not saying these are the best dry bags out there but if you’ve ever been rafting or kayaking, these are pretty much an essential item. The one thing these are missing is a strap. I have a 20l dry bag with two straps that can be worn as a backpack and allows you to strap it to whatever floating vessel you’re in.

Are they Georgia Red?
Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
@yakkoTDI Refrigerator.
Déjà who.
Would this be good for putting wet Laundry in as you transfer it to a dryer that is in a different location?

Just happened to see these on Morning Save and thought they’d be easy to carry, especially with the strap.

If water can’t get in, I bet margarita can’t get out…
@seeden IME, margarita always comes out… eventually.
I don’t trust promises of waterproof. Water always finds a way.
@hchavers reviews say that water can come in through the top and the fabric on the outside gets wet although that doesn’t soak through.
“AI” Garbage.
It’s infrequent that I would need these, but I have been happy with my other wise owl purchases from here.

Maybe the real Waterproof Dry Carrier Bags were the friends we made along the way.
@El_Oel
Which made me wonder, what if the water was coming from INSIDE THE BAG?!?

@Kidsandliz it’s a coating though; I worry that will eventually wash off
