I looked at the pen on morningsave a little while back, can’t remember how much it was but it’s no longer there. I think it may have been $8 on its own there.
@cengland0 The pen is actually pretty bad. Look at the batteries it uses. NINE AG9s? That’s almost ten bucks right there if you’re purchasing decent ones.
At least the Chinaman flashlights can take 14500s. These were really popular, cheap flashlights about 5 years ago. I still have a couple.

I’m in nearly the same boat. Just picked up a convoy s2+ last month for 12$ from banggood. Really love this thing!
I still have some of these 14500 lights… one at work is still going strong, but I’ve had a lot of issues with the switches failing. Meh.
The short flashlights are cool only if they have a simple on off switch. You can buy those on eBay for $3-5. One of the two purchased 7 years ago the switch just failed. Not bad. Those three position switch lights failed in months, all three lights dead. Maybe others have better luck with multifunction switch lights
I bought the pens before and it doesn’t come with the knife shown. It’s some bottle opener/small screwdriver/very small wrench/with a small kind-of blade on the side that’s half the length (or less) than the blade shown.
@ShotgunX I love those 14500 batteries. Same size as the AA but higher voltage and rechargeable. I’m always a little scared to keep the light on too long in fear of heat burning out the LED. Hasn’t happened yet though.
My best flashlights use multiple 18650s but they are bulky and too big to store in a pocket. These little ones are good to throw in your toolbox.

The flashlight can illuminate a small room if you aim it at the ceiling; however, the flashlight will not stand vertically unassisted. I clipped a ruler to one and was able to get it kind of vertical during a recent power outage.
The pen is neat, but it seems to be more of a punch with a light. The pen and multi-tool seem like an afterthought because you must unscrew the the device to access the pen. Also, you can’t put the thing together so the pen is always accessible. I’ll probably lose the pen part and wind up with a nice penless penlight.

For those folks that cannot overcome a failed switch, you don’t deserve a tactical light. A good tactician knows you only need to improvise a simple contact switch made out of two small screws and the pull tab from your beer can.

300 lumens and 80 lumens are not all that much light. I guess that is what you get from one AA or 9 LR936s batteries.
@BudTender You’ll only get 300 lumens if you stick a 14500 lithium in there. With a normal AA, you’re looking at less than 100.
