“Love the multiple function lights. Bought as a big boy gift for my grandson age 6. The battery access is a bit delicate inside with connections open so told him Mom had to change with him. Great by his bedside when storms cause lights out or under the tent reading stories and playing games.” - Amazon Customer
★ “Purchased in a 3-pack on another website and am happy with the purchase. I certainly wouldn’t have paid $18 for a single one, but it does what it advertises. I don’t expect this to last for more than a year, as it doesn’t seem to be made of durable materials.” - Probably a Meh customer posting on Amazon

@wyk3d Well if I understand it correctly 26 lumens is 4.3 watts (via conversion calculator), or essentially like a night light.
I also found this:
Bulb brightness in Lumens
A 100 watt Bulb is rated at approximately 1700 lumens A 60 watt incandescent bulb is rated at approximately 800 lumens A 40 watt bulb is rated at approximately 400 lumens A 25 watt bulb is rated at approximately 180 lumens A 4 watt night light bulb is rated at approximately 20 lumens (came from here: http://www.power-sure.com/lumens.htm#Led0 )
@wyk3d I was actually quite impressed. I bought them for camping and the lantern seems to be about right for sitting around outside. The flashlight is brighter than I expected, not dazzling but brighter than, say, the old halogen penlights and some of the old/cheap LED flashlights I have around here. For the price I was expecting much less.
@wyk3d gave two away - told they were great for car emergencies (knock on wood - haven't been used yet).
Kept the last one - now using for 2nd property house which had great fire damage... all boarded up & this lantern light is really good to get thru the mess.
Yep, good tent lighting. Not a spotlight, by any means, but these put off a good deal more light than I expected from comments last time (by people who did not have them and played scientist on the lumen rating). At less than $3 a piece, a great buy. I'm in for 3 more. And with my order no., I think they're watching me. ridiculous-mammoth-slug
@Kidsandliz For occasional-use devices you're actually better off to use alkalines. And you can buy them a hundred at a time for very reasonable money at Lowe's.
@Kidsandliz i tried rechargeable and they didn't work. These must be pretty voltage sensitive. Rechargeable are only 1.2 Volts, regular alkaline are 1.5.
I take a dim view of this product. (I apologize for the exceedingly weak pun)
But I need an intro to state my opinion of the description. Pulitzer, not Nobel but Pulitzer. I will return for many weeks to come in hopes of more literature of this level. Halfway through I shouted "Stella, Stella!" I flat lost control. My watchacallits are still tingling.
Toon steps up to the plate. He takes a couple of practice swings and then gets into his stance. Here comes the first pitch, chest high and straight down the middle. He swings, he connects with the ball, there is a loud cracking sound and the ball soars off into the blue sky toward left field. Home run!
@edlada Aww, thanks! I never once hit an actual home run when I played Little League and high school baseball, so it feels good to finally connect with one!
Got some last time here on meh: pretty handy to disperse throughout the house, so when darkness hit you're ready. Bright enough to see around, but not too bright. Agree that the flashlight is pretty weak.
Wrapping clear packing tape around the black cap that unscrews to replace the batteries will keep your child from waking you repeatedly to replace the batteries and reassemble the flashlight.
Been with Meh. over a year now it appears this will be the first month without a purchase and i have 49 purchases to date on Meh..may be the end of my Meh life cycle if they dont come up with some new products to offer ..pretty sad about that because for a while it was fun and seems the good products are sold out within 5 mins. of 12A.M. May i suggest that products become available to their members one hour before it hits the non members so ppl. that pay 5 bucks a month dont have to wait up untill 12 to buy on the east coast ty kindly
Eh, I'm in. I have kids that are afraid of the dark, and feel there are monsters lurking around every dark corner of the house. Maybe these will alleviate their fears.
Just had a power outage last week and broke these out to use. I didn't bother with the flashlight but placed these in various rooms as lanterns. They worked so well my wife told me to buy more if they went on sell again. (So I am). When power is out these will light up the room enough to move around. If you want a flashlight, buy a flashlight, not these, but if you need to light when the power goes out, these work very well.
I finally opened the box of three of these that I bought last time. They come with batteries but two of the three had a leaking battery. (I consolidated the four good ones to run one of the three, and now I have a solo spare. I loaded fresh alkalines into the third lamp.) Be careful and check closely.
@PhotoJim My three had no leaky batteries but I took the Halo batteries out for storage. The silver one in my set has a bad switch or something...it only lights up randomly.
@Hollyjoy@therealjrn One of my three didn't work at first either, but after changing the batteries and exercising the switch a bit I managed to bring it to life. Make sure the batteries are getting good contact as well.
Opened one of these when I first got it to check it out. Not bad for what it is. However, opened the other two last night and the grey one is not working! The power button was messed up and I pushed it back out but it is not interested in being a working light.

Bright idea
@AttyVette Certainly lit up my night.
Isn't it time 'bright idea' goes in to retirement?
Can't fool me, those are obviously blenders.
@awk funny
@awk I thought this as well at first. I was like who need 3 freaking blenders?
@awk yup. Me three.
@patchdale Same thought here as well!
is this the same company that made the totally functioning video recorders in the fukos?
@Lotsofgoats What worthless junk.....lol
Do you get 3 or just 1 ip camera when you purchase these?
Price is decent for VMP, but I'll still pass on this strange blender looking oddball........
What was the price on these before?
@MsELizardBeth Same, January 15th.
Will it blend?
Are these multi-purpose? I mean, do they crush ice?
@kilmuir if you hit the ice hard enough. They may also crush though.
Mini BlendTec blenders? If that were the case I would be in for them! Meh instead.
Star light star bright bought meh some lantern lights - I wish I may I wish I might go to bed earlier tomorrow night
Rerun
Anyone that bought last time comment on how bright these are?
@wyk3d bright enough that I regret giving them to my 4 year old. Not bright enough to perform surgery.

@wyk3d good tent lighting...

Bought some last time,not bad at all,well worth the money.
@jmbunkin I agree, though they are causing an investment in AAA batteries around here
@MsELizardBeth get rechargeables
@MsELizardBeth it's good to be prepared, but don't these take AA's?
@belowi yes 3 x AA
and you get 3 included... they even say Halo right on the AA's.
I'm going 0-fer February, it appears.
Meh plus Leap-meh, I bet.
Do these also have 3 1 minute recording buttons that will not work when the batteries die?
There are FOUR lights!
@gyozilla I don't understand how you can be so mistaken.
@gyozilla spend $16 and give both red ones to #1
@gyozilla I didn't ask you how many lights there are.
At 26 lumens vs 19 lumens, yah, about 36.8421052631579% better.
@RedOak but if you do all three lanterns at once you get 78 lumens. Don't stare at them, you might go blind....
@RedOak Just a few more digits and you'd have the entire repeating portion: 36.(842105263157894736)(842105263157894736)..
@awk iPhone calculator copy/paste.
I did my first judgement (meh) last night. I guess i'm a bit slow at this.
i am surprised you guys say the lantern is better because usually the flashlights are better on any of these things I have ever owned
Why do I need three blenders at once and why are they so cheap?
@tsm The old blender joke is getting a real workout today.
You utter heartbreakers, you. (I refer to the story.)
So other than projecting light, is one of the other functions "paper weight?"
@Not_Ken_M and occupying space.
I take a dim view of this product. (I apologize for the exceedingly weak pun)

In for 3. blythe-stingy-samurai
@Meh, can we get some AA batteries up next?
@brianmc1975 Leaky or non-leaky?
@narfcake Leaky please.

In for another pack, btw. Thanks, meh.
@dwallace123 What are these "children"? :)
@dwallace123 thanks for the tip! I have a 3yo that will be using these heavily.

@mellowirishgent you are a genius!!!
@mellowirishgent so the west coast people would get to buy them all out even earlier or would this be special just for the east coast people?
Eh, I'm in. I have kids that are afraid of the dark, and feel there are monsters lurking around every dark corner of the house. Maybe these will alleviate their fears.
@jsh139 You spelled "elevate" wrong. Just saying.
Does it work on a Mac?
@latentfuss They even work on my Commodore VIC-20. (But I did expand the VIC-20 to 40 kB of RAM.)
Just had a power outage last week and broke these out to use. I didn't bother with the flashlight but placed these in various rooms as lanterns. @mdrcoast You misspelt Fleshlight.
Thanks for the backstory...

@therealjrn Just read this after posting my review..the silver one must be a dud cause it doesn't work at all for me.
@Hollyjoy @therealjrn One of my three didn't work at first either, but after changing the batteries and exercising the switch a bit I managed to bring it to life. Make sure the batteries are getting good contact as well.
