As others have said, these are a scam. Studies have repeatedly shown that while there may be some small repellent effect initially, it’s never enough to actually make a difference. In addition, pests rapidly become accustomed to the sound, and it loses what little effectiveness it had in a period of time ranging from a few hours to a few days.
My grandmother got some things similar to these, and upon taking one apart I found that they don’t even have a means of emitting the supposed ultrasonic waves. It’s a box with LEDs in it. Even if it did emit sound… why would a mouse or roach care?
Instead of spending $24 trying to get rid of pests without traps, buy some traps and use the $20 left over to buy candles.
@mcemanuel@Shagbert But doing exactly the same thing over and over, despite the fact that it never works, is The New American Way! And as long as somebody makes a profit from it, it’s GREAT! </sarcasm>
My wife freaks out if an ultrasonic pest destroyer gets into the house. She is happy to see flocks of bats eating flying insects outside of the house.
I like watching when the shifts overlap. Late in the summer it is common to see both barn swallows and bats eating the large swarm of insects at dusk. If the bugs are big enough the barn swallows can still see them well enough to keep hunting them for a while after it gets dark enough for the bats to feel safe.

@yakkoTDI They might make a passable coaster…
I’m sure my dogs would love these.
Make me one that scares off car warranty callers and you’ve got yourself a deal
@msayler “Should I Answer” is possibly the phone app you’re looking for.
@msayler lmao, I’d buy two sets!
These don’t work btw.
@lowlypeon I’m SHOCKED. SHOCKED, I say.
@lowlypeon @weatherseed
Will it keep my ex away??
@eeterrific Only if they swallow it
These are electronic snake oil. Shame on the Meh buyer who wasted their money on these.

Fake scam product.
@Alereon it’s a real scam product
Do not buy these, they do nothing look up tests on YouTube for similar items
@tsloan27
I like the idea that you want to use a lower kHz to deter the mice but let the cockroaches and fleas run amok

@brennyn Or, if you plan to adopt a cat, don’t buy candles. If you already have cats, I will assume you know that.
So these protect the pests home, right?
P.S. you send send me the $24 instead, I take paypal and venmo…
I don’t have mice or other pest, so will these scare off that annoying neighbor cat?
How do the pests know how to change the light color?
I don’t have any ultrasonic pests to protect my home from.
@OnionSoup ^^^ Best so far, IMO ^^^
Which frequency keeps Buggin Out!?
Send me one for free and I’ll review it by sticking it inside the abandoned house nearby for a month.
@PooltoyWolf so, if they actually work, then you would know by the number of mice that come over to your house? I sense a flaw in your test procure.
@winecaseaholic I’m not crazy, my house isn’t THAT close!
Why do stores keep selling these if they don’t work? FYI - NOTHING will help with Florida roaches. They will carry items like this away on their back!
@mcemanuel because people keep buying them?

Don’t sell scam crap, meh.

Our cats catch mice without using ultrasound.
@hamjudo Bats are definitely my idea of a good ultrasonic pest destroyer.
These do nothing but burn electricity. Do not recommend.
@bransonboyds Worse. They generate more dead batteries to go into the landfills.
Comes without batteries or power cord!!! Don’t buy
I was sincerely disappointed because they arrived without batteries nor a plug. So now I have to purchase batteries all the time. Extremely upset
they dont work
