I got the hemp seed powder before. I put it in my coffee every day. Tastes a little like grass, but not strong at all. Has good fiber and low chance of metals contamination. It made my poop a little greasy though. Just saying.
Rice protein 23g fiber 2g
Sacha protein 17g fiber 4g
Hemp protein 18g fiber 2g
Pumpkin protein 19g fiber 3g
Watermelon protein 20g fiber 3g
Sunflower protein 15g fiber 5g
I grabbed some of the rice version. I’ve tried it in my morning oatmeal twice, and here’s my opinion:
Bottom line: It’s mostly inoffensive. It contributed next to nothing to the flavor, but improved the texture of the oatmeal significantly in my estimation; thicker, smoother, and gooier than usual. (Your tastes in this may be at variance with mine.) No gastric revolt observed either day; it appears that I tolerate it well, which is a relief.
My initial recipe was 32g oats, 20g rice protein powder, 165g milk, a dash of salt, a small amount of sweetener of my choice (you do you), a small handful of dried fruit bits, about 1/8 tsp vanilla, and a few shakes of pie spice. This was refrigerated overnight (something I generally don’t do) and then nuked for 8 minutes at 40% in an oversize bowl. If I had used water instead of milk, I’d have added 60g of heavy cream after nuking and allowing the temp to come down to something reasonable. (I may try that at some point.)
I suspect that this could be added to bread recipes without disastrous results, but I haven’t tried that yet. (I probably will.)
