@Kidsandliz From church! Well, a service project there, baking cookies to distribute at a local prison. The instructions explicitly told us not to send oatmeal raisin because the inmates will pull out all the raisins to use for “inappropriate purposes.”
Amazing how creative people can be when they have a lot of time on their hands but limited resources to work with
I got the low cut socks and like them because they contain cotton and they are comfortable. The only issue I have is that they seem to get holes in the toe area quicker than other socks I’ve worn.
Always pull your socks loose at the toe when you put them on. They tighten up with walking, but they also get tighter when you put your shoes on. Your toes will thank you and maybe you won’t get holes.
TIL that “women’s socks” are a thing. I always thought socks were just socks. The pack I bought most recently even lists both men’s and women’s shoe sizes.
@brennyn they have to shape women’s socks differently to men’s so they fit better around the foot-boobs.
Joking aside… I think it’s more about size and colours than anything else. I actually own some extra large women’s socks because I liked the patterns… No difference.
@brennyn Over in the women’s wear area, the socks are seldom big enough to fit anything past a size 10. Over in the men’s wear, they are typically either half an inch thick and equipped with ribs that leave your ankles and calves corrugated and itchy for hours, or they’re so thin and slippery (“dress socks”) that you have to cinch down the laces to “circulation interrupted until you can escape” to keep from kicking your shoe off on every other step. Land’s End occasionally has useful women’s socks that will fit a 13. And they’re easy to get in New Zealand. I guard my sock drawer.
“Steve Madden or Laundry” is an odd name for a clothing line. It has sort of a “give me liberty or give me death” vibe. At least Steve got top billing.

More than 2/3 of a regular sock for less than 1/2 of the regular price. What a deal!
@phendrick Well, more than 2/3 of a crew-length, anyway.
That last pic:
May not be able to make a margarita, but I bet you could use these to make some old fashioned prison wine…

@Turken And you know this how…? (snicker)

@Turken ummhmmm

@Turken Well not what I was looking for but this is pretty funny.
@Kidsandliz @Turken Prison toilet raisin wine tomorrow on casemates? May not contain 100% raisins.

Please, can we get real socks that come up the leg? These wouldn’t cover a… well maybe they would cover that.
seems not fair that men get 97% polyester while women get a cotton/viscose/poly blend.
i recently got some cotton/viscose mens socks from the big A company and really liked them.
@pmarin That’s what I’m thinking. I can’t stand polyester 'cause they make my feet hot and sweaty even just driving the car.

@Mandamm I’ve never thought of that, because I had the opposite problem when I played soccer in wet conditions.
@Mandamm Same goes for support hose, for those who wear them.
if you wear all 24 pairs of socks at once, they combine to form the golden pair of socks, which prevent all shoe-bites.

I could use more feet napkins.

“Well, those socks are probably getting warn down”
Really meh? “warn down”?
@Trinityscrew I’m here to worn you, no one likes to be corrected. especially when they’re wrong.
@ekw @Trinityscrew Somebody could fix it, but then what would people have to complain about? Meh’s typos are sometimes a public service.
@Trinityscrew @werehatrack obviously, we would complain that the socks contain no natural fibers!

@donpratt Would you prefer “Steve Madden by Shelli Segall”?
Half of each sock is missing. This is even worse than half of the pair being missing. Do not want.
/giphy stalking-split-casket
I’ve bought these twice before now and been pretty happy with them.
@DonWhiteside 48 pairs… O wow. Simply WOW.
@xian I… uh… bought more than one pack last time, actually.
@DonWhiteside I guess I should have specified that I bought the Madden socks, not the other ones.
I’m waiting for the John Madden socks. Yeah baby!
@candelabra They’re in the Steven Segal kimono bundle on some other site.

It may be too early, but I don’t see the sizes.
@Steevo From the specs:
24-Pack: Steve Madden Men’s Flat Knit Low Cut Socks: Fits shoe size 6-12.5
24-Pack: Laundry by Shelli Segal Women’s Low Cut Socks: Fits shoe size 4-10
@Steevo The last lines of the specs section. men’s 6-12.5 and women’s 4-10
@mappiahpadi @Steevo And lest anyone lust after the tie-dye from across the aisle, women’s 4-10 = men’s 2-8.
I’m not seeing the option to purchase “Laundry by Shelli Segal”.
That seems quite reasonable for a laundry service.
@blaineg All three color selections are in the drop-down list for me.
@werehatrack I don’t want socks, I want laundry service.
@blaineg It’s Shelli Seagall’s laundry that tou can buy and add to your own, silly. No guarantees that it’s used (eww.)
If you need something to go between your feet and your shoes, they do that
