I’m on the west coast of Florida an absolutely love hurricane season. Too bad the storms hardly ever hit us. The seem to near miss or just go right past. There is very little risk with a TS or low level Cat 1. Just great weather!
Yikes. I haven’t heard the weather (or news) in the last 24 hours. Looks like I’m going to get wet (not living on the coast kind of wet, rather a 2.5 hour drive north kind of wet). I guess I’d better pay attention.
@Kyeh my backyard has been partially flooded for weeks. The last week we’ve had flash flood warnings almost every day. I’m hoping Laura doesn’t bring us more rain on the east coast of Florida.
I think I’ll keep my 110 degree F dry heat thank you very much.
It’s bad enough.
You know when you get COVID screened for stuff, they take your temp. Well, when you are coming in from outside and it was 110 - you almost always have an elevated temperature to a typical IR thermometer.
A literal example of adding insult to injury.

@EvilTuna …you want a hurricane to hit you?
@EvilTuna @RiotDemon
I know, right?! While you’re waiting for that to happen why don’t you make some pop-corn and burn your house down!!

@f00l The best house for the weather. A friend had one with rollup garage doors on all 4 sides.
@OldCatLady
I love these houses.
The Surfside beach at Freeport TX is a fav from childhood.
Altho no crowds then. There are crowds now.
And meanwhile in the western US we’re desperate for rain.
I hope you all stay safe!

@RiotDemon Ugh, how awful!
Looks like a Two-for-Tuesday sale on hurricanes.
