I would actually say he’s more of an incredible team player than athlete. He has talent no denying that but his attitude and approach to the game are what set him apart and inspire greatness in those around him.
I take the blame for the Cowboys not having any class lately. And for their owner being continually annoying plus committing a few other football sins.
I take the blame for the firing of UT Coach Charlie Strong, who was an awesome coach with a v young team, but since he’s $15M richer now, I guess he’ll land on his feet.
I take the blame for the Horns needing to rebuild.
Texas is a big state. Not near Austin, and unfortunately, way too much to do to drive down there.
Warning: Austin is great, Austin traffic is horrible. I’d rather drive in Boston than Austin. At least, in my memories of Boston traffic, you might actually get somewhere, if you survived the trip.
For food: hard to go really wrong. But Texas Monthly and the local free rags can out the good places.
If you get out of metro Austin, the driving is easy and fun. If you are looking for day trips, try San Antonio or Fredericksburg. Go hungry either way.
My whole family is drenched in burnt orange. On one ancestry branch I think even both great-grandparents atttended. My child autumn Saturdays were a ritual of football car trips. Some of us graduated elsewhere, from there, but we all attended. Until younger bro moved far out of state so his kids went to lesser schools.
My first recorded public profanity when I was quite young is said to have occurred in response to a football loss. I was pre-school or so I think?
Just wandering around the campus (rather nice) or the State Capital and grounds can be worthy.
There is a state park on the east side of I35 inside Austin. Smallish but wonderful. If you go there, you will feel like you are 1000 miles from a city.
It’s a big pink granite dome. Takes an hour or two to climb. Not challenging - just walk up. Caveat: carry water and wear a hat and sunscreen. The sun reflects notably off the granite and can make it way hot in summer, hotter than the surrounding country even in autumn.
@jbartusJonas Gray has now been recognized for a 201-yard rushing day against the Colts after the league scrubbed a two-yard loss rushing play that should not have counted
@f00l it’s a redundant joke on a slash command to summon forth the person named for a given task. In this case for @mfladd to shed light on the mystery.
/@mfladd “whatever” <- Returns a result to the question. Think of it as an internet search which doesn’t store every aspect of me, yet could still judge me.
I have another one, though I’m suspending it until @ChadP fulfills his promise.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mfladd they’re just spiteful. It’s funny how many bitter fans hate on the Patriots / Brady but when actual players are interviewed they talk about how he’s a shoe-in for the hall of fame, a great guy, their immense respect for him, and how he’s probably the greatest quarterback ever to play the game. Never any mention of the trumped up allegations of cheating.
@2many2no Terry Bradshaw was a bit overrated. He was the QB for four Super Bowl winning teams, but he was pretty good, not great. The steel curtain was the reason for a lot of those wins.
-Coming from a Stillers fan.
@2many2no nah, what he was saying is that Bradshaw got to hide behind the steel curtain that ran riot on the other teams. His success was the result of their success.
@hems79 a bit might be an understatement. Even discussing him in the same conversation as Tom Brady (and this is not Pats fan bluster I am being statistical here) is only warranted due to their both having won four career Super Bowl titles. Other than that Brady simply has him outclassed. These figures are a couple of years old and I can’t be bothered to update them so you can assume safely that the disparity has only grown: http://fueledbysports.com/tom-brady-vs-terry-bradshaw-comparison/
@hems79 your image is acknowledged but will not be given the dignity of a response other than “show me the actual evidence”. Good luck with that one, there isn’t any.
I was in a rather foul mood last night, feeling lousy from a bad cold with congestion and sore throat, plus I had not yet had enough scotch to mellow my auto-trolling tendencies.
I am sorry if my comment offended anyone, but @f00l made me do it.
Apparently not, since I have no clue what 201 could possibly represent.

@PlacidPenguin you linked me to a lmgtfy searching for lmgtfy?
@jbartus
Well yeah, your link was missing an h at first.
@PlacidPenguin I plead mobile device issues.
Wouldn’t an lmgtfy of http have been more apt?
@jbartus oh, it’s an area code clue, i love those
@Yoda_Daenerys
I need to speak to you about something re: Meh exChange 4.01.a v2…
@Yoda_Daenerys no. No it most certainly is not.
I’m guessing meh face clicks?
@Thumperchick
Nah. He has 268.
@Thumperchick thread image is relevant.
@jbartus
There’s a picture of some guy.
@PlacidPenguin he’s important
@mfladd knows.
@jbartus
Hmmm so if @f00l is taking blame, and @narfcake serves as cat shirt looker-uper…
/@mfladd Who is the guy in the thread header?
(If you (@mfladd) don’t get what I did, just look at this.)

/@PlacidPenguin quit editing your posts!
@jbartus
In the last 24 hours, I’ve seen comments coming from yourself, @ignorant, and @f00l claiming that I’m either editing posts, or deleting them.
I need proof of such activity.

I’m going with New Jersey.
@Mehrocco_Mole negative space cowboy.
@jbartus Levi 501’s with the legs cut off?
@Mehrocco_Mole nice try no cigar.
@Mehrocco_Mole My best friend growing up had a 201 area code
@Pantheist In New Jersey, right?
@Mehrocco_Mole they don’t typically migrate.
@Mehrocco_Mole right
@jbartus I’m in maine now
@Pantheist I meant area codes.
@jbartus Ah yeah. Gotcha. Although now I guess they can with cell phones
@Pantheist phone numbers can move, could even pre-cell phone I think, but Area Codes don’t tend to.
@jbartus haha true.
@Mehrocco_Mole Jersey? What Exit?
@Mehrocco_Mole @Pantheist
This guy I know got a 201 area code despite living in NY. He never lived in NJ.
Then again, I live close enough to NJ that some businesses have a 201 number.
@PlacidPenguin Weird. I was about 45 mins- an hour from ny.
@PlacidPenguin New Jersey is just an extension of New York City
@jbartus
Figures. I can’t really tolerate NYC OR NJ.
They’re just slightly more annoying to me than a certain other area in the US of A.
@jbartus
you are fucking w me when I have a headache, fucker.
And yeah he’s an incredible athlete. All that. But what’s wrong with the 'pokes had nuthin nuthin nuthin nuthin nuthin to do with the Pats.
I really miss Landry even tho NFL is barely my thing at all.
I really miss the 'boys having a little class. I really miss having the owner, coach, manager, and entire team having some class.
But my heart (as a sports loyalist) Is here (tho they could use some help lately too)
@f00l who brought the 'pokes into this?
I would actually say he’s more of an incredible team player than athlete. He has talent no denying that but his attitude and approach to the game are what set him apart and inspire greatness in those around him.

Ok. Here goes.
I take the blame for this thread.
I take the blame for Brady and 201.
I take the blame for Brady and G.O.A.T.
I take the blame for my headache.
@f00l I unblame you for the first three!
And yeah the Cowboys are definitely lacking class of late.
@jbartus
Of late? You mean, even since the Schramm/Landry recruits retired?
Of late. Huh.

Austin is in the Hill Country, so all the state parks are v worthy.

Wait, this is about Gray? He’s a Pat. Who cares?
(If the cubs can win the World Series than the Lion’s are winning the SB!!!)
@Mehrocco_Mole who is Gray?
@jbartus Jonas Gray has now been recognized for a 201-yard rushing day against the Colts after the league scrubbed a two-yard loss rushing play that should not have counted
@Mehrocco_Mole this has nothing to do with washed up has beens.
@jbartus I live in the past.
@Mehrocco_Mole today’s news relates to this thread.

@Yoda_Daenerys I don’t follow.
@f00l

@f00l
Clarification - No clue what @jbartus is rambling on about this time.
@PlacidPenguin
Tom Brady gets a new fancy stat. And lots of news stories. He prob deserves them.
Google Tom Brady and check news.
@f00l
If I had my phone on me, I’d just highlight and search. I don’t, so that’s your fault.
Oh well, on to the second option

Oh wait, that’s not a thing. That’s also your fault.

@mfladd TB? What’s all this about Terry Bradshaw?
That is who you’re talking about, right?
I mean, when you mention great quarterback, he sure is one.
@2many2no Terry Bradshaw was a bit overrated. He was the QB for four Super Bowl winning teams, but he was pretty good, not great. The steel curtain was the reason for a lot of those wins.

Really a shame that the farce was allowed to go this far given that he is so much more deserving of jail time than even Hillary and Trump combined.
