Got my “random” bags today. Surprisingly, first time I’ve ever felt ripped off by Meh. I was expecting an assortment of random sized bags, but instead I got two 10 packs of the same (very small) bag. I was expecting to throw away a few, but not the entire order. Also, these bags say “Merry Christmas” all over them. I don’t see “Holiday” anywhere. Because of Meh’s cowardice in actually describing things as they are in fear of not being PC, they have forced me to offend all my Jewish friends when I give them their tiny gifts.

Mine did have a mix of holiday and Christmas themes but there are 24 tiny bags, which are very good quality anyway, 4 small bags and 12 larger bags that are maybe 10 to 12 inches. We were going to give a set as a gift. Not sure what to do now. Also, I’m not sure how far a class-action lawsuit will get against a company named Mediocre Corporation and Meh.com but you can only lean on that name for so long.

I didn’t think to check here to see if anyone else got a bunch of tiny ass bags until I got the email from MEH. Did anyone else think it was funny? because I laughed when I saw those lil bitty bags, but it seems like a lot of you are honestly pissed.
Came home to a box from MEH, arrived a day early. Opened large cardboard box of 20 “random” gift bags, instead found 8 small gift card sized bags and 12 wine bottle sized bags. Not so random.
Opened up phone to make post on MEH forum, found email from MEH with $5 code due to not-so-random bags delivery. Appreciate the $5, but would rather have some of the larger gift bags.
I got 20 small bags. The $5 coupon does little to alleviate the feeling I was suckered. The listing said “random assortment” Why not let us return them to you for a refund.

@Thumperchick I kinda have a thing for funky socks and had bought them for a few friends. They fit nice in the tiny bags after a little roll action. Bad thing is that the bags all match so it is likely they may get the wrong socks!
So what really happened meh? New guy screwed the pooch or the warehouse people were just like fuck it? I didn’t even go back and look at the deal to see if it was me or you guys that screwed up. I put Stance socks I got from Ross (very comfy and significant selection of different designs) in a few of the wine bags as gifts and brought a few to Holiday parties by putting the bottle of wine we came with and subsequently drank cuz everyone loves receiving a gift you drink before you leave them w/ just a holiday wine bag.

So! I FINALLY got my box-o-bags this morning. I’ve been so excited to see what Meh had in store for me after all the comments and not one but TWO apology emails from Meh. I got 3 wine bags and 17 teeny tiny bags…I would have been enraged if it had not been all this drama these past few days. Now, with my $10 coupon code all everyone else already expressing the injustice of it all—I got to squeal with delight in the crappiness of my purchase. It’s about as close to a Fuku as I am going to get!

I ordered two sets of 20 bags. I got 20 large bags and 20 tiny bags. Don’t know if that was “accidentally” one order of all large bags, and one order of all small bags or not. The large bags were four different ones, they were nice and handy, the small ones will be perfect for white elephant gifting. (We often give gift cards with less than $1 on them. Worth something, but annoying!)
So interestingly enough I was kinda disappointed by the lack of variety in my order (10x mediumish gift bags, 10x gift card sized) but knew it was a possibility and shrugged it off completely missing this whole ‘scandal’. I do think it’s worth noting that the sale said random not mixed so anyone expecting anything more specific than any quantity (including 20 of a single size) of any of the four sizes shown was expecting too much.
That said, kudos to @thumperchick, @dave, and the rest of the powers that be at Meh for deciding to stand by their customers on what was almost certainly a lazy packer situation. You guys could have begged off on the grounds that 20 gift card bags fits the definition of random, you could have simply credited the handful who complained and been on your way, but instead you went the extra mile and that’s why I’ll continue to shop here for as long as you keep offering products I am interested in.
I don’t know that I’ll use the coupon you guys sent me, I’ll probably forget about it, but it’s appreciated nonetheless. We made good use of the bags this holiday with at least a half dozen being used for giftcards alone. Thanks guys!
@jbartus If you think about the math… One mehtizen receiving 20 gift card bags, or 12 gift card bags and 8 wine bags would fit the definition of random — but almost every fulfilled order? Nothing random about that, unless there were hundreds of thousands of orders that were well-distributed assortments that we haven’t heard about. (BTW A quick check of the splash page reveals only 933 orders)

So if we ordered multiple sets, is the coupon good multiple times? (haven’t gotten mine yet; house is out in the boonies of Maine…)
@uncleop The code is good once per account. Not everyone received the same assortment, so you may end up with something resembling a more random run.
Came home to a box from MEH, arrived a day early. Opened large cardboard box of 20 “random” gift bags, instead found 8 small gift card sized bags and 12 wine bottle sized bags. Not so random.
Opened up phone to make post on MEH forum, found email from MEH with $5 code due to not-so-random bags delivery. Appreciate the $5, but would rather have some of the larger gift bags.
I got 20 small bags. The $5 coupon does little to alleviate the feeling I was suckered. The listing said “random assortment” Why not let us return them to you for a refund.

If I have to manually enter everyone’s user ID to make it work, I will. But I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that.
Also - I got the same tiny bag assortment as several of you.
I’ve found the following uses for them:
Ornaments
Baby/Toddler clothing (shirt + pants)
Gift Cards
Cat Toys (really, the bags with some tissue = toy)
Toddler occupier (similar to cat toy)
I need more ideas…

@mflassy The long and short here is that this wasn’t on purpose. The intent was a well mixed random set of gift bags, in various sizes and designs.
I can come up with better uses for the remaining tiny bags. Like tiny, festive book covers! Or paper bag houses for paper dolls… or…

So what really happened meh? New guy screwed the pooch or the warehouse people were just like fuck it? I didn’t even go back and look at the deal to see if it was me or you guys that screwed up. Between this and the fidget spinners, the warehouse crew needs to work on their randomizing skills. Or perhaps the people running the sales should choose bundle options that are more practical.
I guess I didn’t make out quite as bad as everyone else. The majority of our bags were wine bags. My in-laws drink a lot of wine. Thanks for the $10 coupon though, that was nice. I was still going to buy from Meh but was never going to buy a random assortment deal again.
Now that I know it was actually a mistake I may try again.
I put Stance socks I got from Ross (very comfy and significant selection of different designs) in a few of the wine bags as gifts and brought a few to Holiday parties by putting the bottle of wine we came with and subsequently drank cuz everyone loves receiving a gift you drink before you leave them w/ just a holiday wine bag.

I received the not-so-random gift bags the same day that I received the so-so sommelier wine. Luckily, I got mostly wine bags to give away all this awful wine in.

So! I FINALLY got my box-o-bags this morning. I’ve been so excited to see what Meh had in store for me after all the comments and not one but TWO apology emails from Meh. I got 3 wine bags and 17 teeny tiny bags…I would have been enraged if it had not been all this drama these past few days. Now, with my $10 coupon code all everyone else already expressing the injustice of it all—I got to squeal with delight in the crappiness of my purchase. It’s about as close to a Fuku as I am going to get!

We haven’t heard from anyone yet who received 20 large holiday gift bags. Did any of these go out? (I received 20 of the micro bags)

I ordered two sets of 20 bags. I got 20 large bags and 20 tiny bags. Don’t know if that was “accidentally” one order of all large bags, and one order of all small bags or not. The large bags were four different ones, they were nice and handy, the small ones will be perfect for white elephant gifting. (We often give gift cards with less than $1 on them. Worth something, but annoying!)
Also, @thumperchick, since I ordered two sets, do I get 2x$10?

So interestingly enough I was kinda disappointed by the lack of variety in my order (10x mediumish gift bags, 10x gift card sized) but knew it was a possibility and shrugged it off completely missing this whole ‘scandal’. I do think it’s worth noting that the sale said random not mixed so anyone expecting anything more specific than any quantity (including 20 of a single size) of any of the four sizes shown was expecting too much.
That said, kudos to @thumperchick, @dave, and the rest of the powers that be at Meh for deciding to stand by their customers on what was almost certainly a lazy packer situation. You guys could have begged off on the grounds that 20 gift card bags fits the definition of random, you could have simply credited the handful who complained and been on your way, but instead you went the extra mile and that’s why I’ll continue to shop here for as long as you keep offering products I am interested in.
I don’t know that I’ll use the coupon you guys sent me, I’ll probably forget about it, but it’s appreciated nonetheless. We made good use of the bags this holiday with at least a half dozen being used for giftcards alone. Thanks guys!
@jbartus If you think about the math… One mehtizen receiving 20 gift card bags, or 12 gift card bags and 8 wine bags would fit the definition of random — but almost every fulfilled order? Nothing random about that, unless there were hundreds of thousands of orders that were well-distributed assortments that we haven’t heard about. (BTW A quick check of the splash page reveals only 933 orders)

@Thumperchick no it isnt in spam folder either —this is exactly what I have been talking about as I get alerts when someone writes me - reply to my post or I order something then it shows up on my email. However, I have never received an email from MEH except the one saying whoa a lot of emails etc and will get back to you. Can you check with whomever is in charge and see why i am not getting the email messages as it doesn’t make sense .
