Poor fellow indeed, but I’m guessing you’re not talking about Arnold Palmer. According to Trump’s description, Palmer wouldn’t need any fluffing to get “thicker” and more “full” …
I’ve been stashing old pillows I’ve replaced in my guest closet. Some are pretty gross, and there are way too many. I think it’s time to just toss them all and get a few of these for cheap.
@Kyeh I actually volunteer there. Pillows and fluff filled comforters aren’t allowed because if the dogs tear them up in the kennel they can ingest the fibers and have severe stomach problems. At home it’s fine but the stress they’re under at the shelter makes them behave differently.
@Kyeh they’re too big for cat cages, and a lot more difficult to wash than other materials. In the smaller cages we generally put fleece blankets and old towels over newspaper and inside the durable hiding box, and in larger spaces the cats and dogs both also have these nylon hammocks that are off the floor so they’re not on the hard floor.
So definitely donate those old towels and rags, they get wrecked pretty fast!
@DLPanther I know of a spay/neuter place that accepts comforters, but they have someone who cuts them into kennel-sized rectangles and serges the edges for them. The pieces are used for post-surgical recovery cage liners and then washed after each use. Cats go straight back into their carriers with a disposable absorbent pad or some newspaper in the bottom if it came in without any. Nobody wants pillows. My favorite spay/neuter clinic was ecstatic one day when I showed up to donate 29 packs of medium size absorbent bed pads that a local thrift store had marked at $3 each to get rid of them. (There were 20 per pack,)
@werehatrack that makes sense, the animals are monitored by the vet staff in that case so it’s not so dangerous. The dogs are in the kennels unattended overnight. We just try to get them out as quick as possible!
@DLPanther@Kyeh it’s been a long time but they had that same sort of hammock idea for the indoor dog kennels here. Just a PVC frame someone built that had vynil or nylon or some flexible thick non absorbant matterial attached on two sides. So it would droop a little. There’s no way theyd have been able to handle beds. But some towels to soften it up if they wanted one
Then every morning they took them out, power washed the whole place beds included. They dry fast. Any laundry. Turns in the yard or walks.
The critical thing about those style of beds beyond the main cleanliness thing. Is the air gap they provide off the concrete floor. That would just suck the heat right out of them if they laid down on it too sleep
Got these last time they were on meh. They really aren’t so good. They come flat but if you fluff them AND put them in a slightly smaller pillow case you can puff them up a little. I can’t stand them…still use them, dunno why. My wife likes it so there’s that though
@OnionSoup@werehatrack Yes – sorry, it’s the first time these have made an appearance as a daily deal but they did make a quick appearance in a mehrathon. The pillows @GaviD purchased were these:
@Num1Zero I read a bunch of the reviews from canadian amazon.com. According to them they are liked, they are fluffy, but they are not firm and will compress quite a bit. One person liked them for that because they were a belly sleeper.
So it seems they start off big, but they’re good and squishy.
MY BF likes to say You know, Like Taco Bell… Same 5 ingredients used in different ways…Made me laugh. I have found the Bamboo pillows, the old ones anyway are heavy and flat… Can be tossed in dryer to fluff up a bit I guess. These look different but too flat. Like Vacuum Cleaners, I have too many pillows… Good Price, Hard Pass.
I bought a Pillow Cube Pro from Menard’s. I’m a side sleeper, and since I got it it’s been one of the best sleeping pillows I’ve owned. I love that my shoulder isn’t on the pillow at all anymore.
@fuzzmanmatt@Kyeh I purchased the oddly shaped pillow a few months back. Falling asleep it was extremely comfortable, however I woke up w a sore neck and head (headache), so I gave it to my dad. At first, he thought I was crazy, wondering why I purchased such a weird pillow. Asked him the next day and he was in love w it! Said it was amazing.
Apparently there is a lack of regulatory requirement to label these in the area of exactly which kind of “cooling gel” is employed, and it appears that there are several which are related only in their propensity for hydrophilia. None seem to have any significant level of special environmental hazard associated. More information about requirements for safety in pillows sold in the US is in the document downloadable here: https://www.cpsc.gov/content/Pillows-Product-Characterization-and-Testing
These pillows are way too thin! My wife likes a thinner pillow & neither of us could sleep well on these even after fluffing them in the dryer to start.
These just came in, they are very thin, but I got them to add extra stuffing to a mediocre cushion on a mediocre Ikea chair, and they work very well for that!
Terrible. Not quite as bad as the last pillows because at least with these you can fold over the excess covering on the kings that I got and stuff them into a standard size pillow case… also, over an hour in the dryer with tennis balls on the air fluff setting and these are still thin and clumpy.
I guess I’m the only one that actually liked these.
I recently bought some other pillows from this site that were an absolute disaster for my neck, but these haven’t been bad at all the last few nights. A bit on the flat side though.

Just don’t invite a panda into the bed with you if you have bamboo pillows.

Anyone else remember the Philips Cool Skin shaver TV spot featuring the (thankfully fictitious) ‘Quintippio Mega Shave’ 15-blade razor? Hahaha
I’ll sleep on this deal
My ex-husband also appeared flat when opened and that didn’t end so well
@cmerino Poor fella
@cmerino @mattig88 Maybe you should use your fingers and fluffed him more

@cmerino @dskin1127 @mattig88 @US951701 thickness doesn’t matter if you aren’t using a stiff shaft

@DLPanther Your local animal shelter might like to have them!
@Kyeh I actually volunteer there. Pillows and fluff filled comforters aren’t allowed because if the dogs tear them up in the kennel they can ingest the fibers and have severe stomach problems. At home it’s fine but the stress they’re under at the shelter makes them behave differently.
@DLPanther Oh, that’s right, you’ve mentioned volunteering there, duh.
So the cats can’t have them either?
@Kyeh they’re too big for cat cages, and a lot more difficult to wash than other materials. In the smaller cages we generally put fleece blankets and old towels over newspaper and inside the durable hiding box, and in larger spaces the cats and dogs both also have these nylon hammocks that are off the floor so they’re not on the hard floor.

@GaviD This is the first time we’ve sold these on Meh. You may be referring to the Sleep Restoration or Enerplex?
@troy How much different are these from what was here 11 days ago?
https://meh.com/forum/topics/2-pack-zen-bamboo-plush-gel-fiber-pillows
@troy @werehatrack both have same model number and description
B06XC5NR52
Are they not the same thing?
@OnionSoup @werehatrack Yes – sorry, it’s the first time these have made an appearance as a daily deal but they did make a quick appearance in a mehrathon. The pillows @GaviD purchased were these:
@OnionSoup @troy @werehatrack Looks like you’re right, thanks for noticing! I got a different cooling pillow
How thick are these? My new bed has an adjustable base and now I prefer thinner pillows. Also, if I eat the gel in my sleep will I die? Thanks.
@Num1Zero asking for a friend?
@Num1Zero @Perfect_Timing looks like it eats shoots and leaves… or does it eat, shoot, and leave?
@Num1Zero I read a bunch of the reviews from canadian amazon.com. According to them they are liked, they are fluffy, but they are not firm and will compress quite a bit. One person liked them for that because they were a belly sleeper.

@Num1Zero They are very flat. Disappointingly so.
I haven’t found a pillow I liked more than my purple pillow but I am also the only one who likes Purple Pillows so I guess that doesn’t mean much.
@AaronLeeJohnson Purple Harmony? I have 2 king myself!
@AaronLeeJohnson Purple has somehow changed over the years… Or maybe my neck has.
What is “cooling gel fiber?”
@edyafree It’s gel fiber that has a cooling effect
@edyafree it is a petroleum-based product that I certainly don’t want to ever breathe or lay on one again. Google it
@craigcush @edyafree that’s what I was wondering. No petroleum gel/memory foam for me thx.
MY BF likes to say You know, Like Taco Bell… Same 5 ingredients used in different ways…Made me laugh. My OG TempurPedic from 15 years ago I still use. Since they started making them cheaper, the newer ones don’t come close.
I bought a Pillow Cube Pro from Menard’s. I’m a side sleeper, and since I got it it’s been one of the best sleeping pillows I’ve owned. I love that my shoulder isn’t on the pillow at all anymore.
@fuzzmanmatt A friend who’s a side sleeper got this odd-looking thing and really likes it:
@fuzzmanmatt @Kyeh I purchased the oddly shaped pillow a few months back. Falling asleep it was extremely comfortable, however I woke up w a sore neck and head (headache), so I gave it to my dad. At first, he thought I was crazy, wondering why I purchased such a weird pillow. Asked him the next day and he was in love w it! Said it was amazing.
@fuzzmanmatt @Kyeh @tinamarie1974

@fuzzmanmatt @pakopako @tinamarie1974 Not your usual manhole.
bleak-violent-astronaut!

these should have been advertised as 65% NON-Bamboo pillows. since when is 35% bamboo correctly advertised as BAMBOO!
Terrible. Not quite as bad as the last pillows because at least with these you can fold over the excess covering on the kings that I got and stuff them into a standard size pillow case… also, over an hour in the dryer with tennis balls on the air fluff setting and these are still thin and clumpy.
NOT impressed at all. Extremely flat & they don’t feel cooling to me in the least. At least I only wasted $15… meh
I guess I’m the only one that actually liked these.
I recently bought some other pillows from this site that were an absolute disaster for my neck, but these haven’t been bad at all the last few nights. A bit on the flat side though.
One week in and these pillows are awesome.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
They really do keep you cooler than regular pillows. Cooler. They don’t cool you. Worth the 15.
These are the heaviest pillows I have ever owned!
