@mcemanuel my bubbas broke and they’ve stopped replacing them because they’re discontinued. Replaced lids several times. But I do love them when the lids aren’t broken.
@katbyter@mcemanuel I used to buy replacement lids, but they’ve stopped making them. The last time I wrote asking about a replacement lid they sent me a whole new Bubba (different shape) instead, which was nice but missed the point.
@katbyter@madamehardy@mcemanuel Same-sies. I was able to replace four lids in a shot (after having to send in a ton of pictures and explanations) but not anymore. I even offered to BUY more lids if they would just send them to me.
My friend Shane asked if they still sold the McDLT. The cashier responded that yes they dd still sell the McDLT.
Shane said “Just checking.” and proceeded to order something else. I don’t know why but it was funny as hell at the time and there were no drugs or alcohol involved.
@yakkoTDI That IS funny, probably because the item did so poorly, it probably lasted less than a year. Not sure why, but likely because most fast food patrons really don’t care whether the food seems more “home-made,” or even attractive. And the McDLT prep probably upset the McKitchen assembly-line, and couldn’t be McHeat-lamped. I no longer patronize McD’s, partly because of their relentless drive to defoliate the Brazilian rainforest for grazing land, plus the fact that fights used to break out on Sunday mornings at our local franchise-- mainly because the service was so bad! (This is 15-20 years ago.)
@shahnm just toss them in there & hope for the best. Stainless steel & chlorine don’t play well together but then I try not to worry too much. I will let you know how these hold up in a few weeks.
@shahnm I was looking for the same thing. I have 2 contigos. 1 is just steel and does great in the dishwasher. The other one is colored pink and after more than a year of going in the dishwasher the color coating is starting to chip off. I messed up my meh coffee mugs by putting them in the dishwasher. The meh logo is still there, but very worn. But they still keep hot drinks hot. My hand does seem to get warmer than it used to.
We need more meh hot/cold drink things!
No thanks. Just saw these bad boys on sale at Costco for $17.99. Bigger and they come with two types of lids. Not to mention… purple! I have the smaller ones already and they’ve been great. Still love my Bubbas though.
@cinoclav Yes I was going to mention that same thing. Costco doesn’t have them all the time, but usually in Spring/Summer for sure. I love my HydroFlasks as a very solid well-made brand.
You can go UP from there in quality for something like a Yeti but at much higher cost.
Or you can go down to cheaper ones like Wally’s carries. These Meh ones look in-between but an unknown brand to me.
Plus sometimes Costco will mark them down further at clearance time if you’re lucky to walk in at the right time. Sometimes I’ve had to stop myself from buying a whole herd o’ hydroflasks.
@cinoclav@dwileyjr344 actually among the quality brands usually the standard sizes for years are consistent. and interchangeable. No-name ones, as these appear to be, are YMMV.
@pmarin Fuck Yeti and everything about them. There are so many better options for less money. That includes those cheaper ones at Walmart. The Ozark Trail products have tested just as good as Yeti for 1/4 the price. I laugh at the idiocy of people who buy Yeti products.
This looks similar to one I got some years ago for $20+ with Camelbak branding. Good deal I guess, but a nuisance to drink from without dribbling. I guess I’d buy if I wanted more of them but the design could be better.

One hot vessel!
@mcemanuel And one cold vessel!
is there a reason to buy these if I have 22oz bubbas?
@boygenius1991 No
@boygenius1991 if you are lazy and always want a clean one, but don’t want to wash one then buy them. They make good gifts.
Bubbas are the best

Keep the hot side hot, and the cool side cool? Where have I seen that before… Oh yeah…
@guybrush01 is that jason alexander?
@guybrush01 @mbersiam yes
@boygenius1991 @guybrush01 @mbersiam
Really dumb ad… but I recall, they were actually quite tasty! Not sad & tired at all…
@boygenius1991 @guybrush01 @mbersiam @MrNews So way back when the McDLT was still being sold (and I still ate at McD’s) I went there with a few friends one night.
My friend Shane asked if they still sold the McDLT. The cashier responded that yes they dd still sell the McDLT.

No purple? For that alone, meh.
Presumably not dishwasher safe?
@shahnm I’d like to know this as well
@shahnm just toss them in there & hope for the best. Stainless steel & chlorine don’t play well together but then I try not to worry too much. I will let you know how these hold up in a few weeks.

I seek balance; not the extremes!
Will they hold my massive balls?
@mexicantacos Easily, I’m told.
Needs a straw. Drinking from these while driving is a pain. Straws are safer while drinking and driving.
@katbyter And if you’re in Wisconsin, you can get your drinks to go!
Add uranium… A nuclear wessel.
@rmeden

@cinoclav also just noted the Costco ones seem to come with a double set of lids for either flip-up or screw type opening. handy.
@cinoclav @pmarin also very handy for having a bunch of lids in the cupboard that you don’t know where they belong

Are you SURE the pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle?
@BigEd no. The chalice with the palace has the brew that is true.
@rmeden
The Thermos. Greatest invention of all time. How do it know?
@rustyh3 Here just for this comment.
My kind of Kaye!
Kaye What!?!?
Are these Bluetooth enabled? Will I need to update the firmware before using?
