Not all robo vacs are created equal. I have no personal experience with Tacklife on this one, and while I do gladly acknowledge that I have and like several of their products, I am somewhat hesitant on this… LiDAR can be wonderful, as can app control or mapping, but how well that all comes together could make for a duo of fantastic little vacuums, or a rather expensive decision to regret in the not-too-distant future.
Just saying
this is a GREAT robovac. I paid waaay more when Meh was initially selling it. Big fan. the mopping function is a pathetic and useless. but they all on the mopping function. at least it offers that option and if you cleaned your hard floors very well first . then doing this weekly would be decent …but isn’t going to “mop” a dirty floor or fresh spill.
I feel sorry for anyone like myself who got suckered into this one. The company, Tacklife, vanished and took their support with it. The app that controls these is no longer available for download, and the vacuum can’t do anything at all without that app. I genuinely feel like I have been conned out of my money and given two large pieces of useless garbage.
@8542Madness You might try the app for the 360 S10 vac and see if that works. It appears to be very similar, and it’s known that Tacklife was just a slap-on label, not an actual manufacturer. I’m sure that there’s an app that will work.
@8542Madness@Seeds@snapster There’s a 90-day warranty from Meh; if Support can’t tell you where to find a functional app, then it sounds like they get to deal with the aftermath of its absence. meh.com/support
@werehatrack Sad to say I have tried four different apps now, and not a single one works with the tacklife vacuum. I’ve been able to get the device successfully vacuuming by mashing the power button, and frankly the standard work it does without any mapping and without any of the app features is fairly solid. But I’m still super pissed off that Meh seems to have knowingly sold a product with literally every single feature not functional due to the app being nonexistent and the company vanishing, and they decided to say absolutely nothing about it. This site has lost my trust from this poor decision. I doubt I’ll make a purchase more than like 30 bucks at most from here again so I don’t get screwed over.
That said - it does, technically, barely, sort of work. I emailed in asking what the hell they were thinking and about getting a refund already. While the job this does isn’t excellent, it does successfully seem to be cleaning my floors of dust and lint, which is what I wanted. And I doubt I’m going to get 2 more for only 90 bucks apiece. I’m still furious Meh pulled a scammy move like that, but I’m having second thoughts about getting a refund now that it at least does vacuum the floor, albeit without any features whatsoever. I can only turn it on and hope it does what I want, which wouldn’t be a problem if it had a functional app for me to give it direction through.
Anyway, if anyone finds an app that actually works for controlling it, would love to hear it. In the meantime I have to debate with myself if I’m keeping this or not and how I feel about staying on this site if they are willing to pull this crap.
@8542Madness one other annoyance about the app is the vacuum has a high power mode that’s excellent, but i didn’t see a way to turn it on without the app
I don’t wana keep tagging everyone, but for those following along at home: one of em started mapping the floor. It’s definitely not vacuuming yet, I have no idea what triggered it, and I’m a little nervous that it’s the ccp spying on me, but I’m excited to see where this goes
@Seeds Thanks! Mine is at least vacuuming now on its own, but no mapping and no ability to control it. I just let it go and hope it will actually eventually get to the rooms I want it to, which is annoying.
@8542Madness I’m looking for a way to get it connected to some app without too much trouble now; if i can’t i think I’ll bother support. Will let you know how it goes either way
@8542Madness so, no guarantee that it’s safe or anything, but if you have an old phone the tacklife apk from apk pure works- the server is still spitting out registration codes and everything
@Seeds Sadly I don’t have any old phones laying around. Exciting to know the app technically exists still at least. Maybe I’ll be able to find some kind of workaround somehow. Still super frustrating this is a surprise problem to have to deal with in the first place but nice to know there might be a chance at a solution. Thanks for keeping me in the loop!
@8542Madness yeah, definitely not an ideal situation. You could download from apkpure onto your current phone, i just wouldn’t. Bluestacks would probably work too, but that’s a bit of effort to set up (or at least was last time I used it, it’s been a few years)

@8542Madness @werehatrack will try, this definitely feels unusually scammy for meh out of the box. This wasn’t a tiny purchase
@8542Madness @werehatrack doesn’t work
@8542Madness @werehatrack @snapster i dunno who else still works for meh to tag them, but this is some bs

It’s vacuuming!
@8542Madness try mashing the power button a few times
