never could find out WTF the Tf card was used for or how you could control it.
If you have figured it out, please, FTLoG post something about it so I see if I made a huge mistake and can keep an eye out for next time these (or similar show up).
Thanks!
@chienfou@radi0j0hn Haven’t tried it yet, but instructions say TF mode is automatic after inserting card. go to next song, previous song, and play/pause are controlled with the buttons
This would make a good simple costume if covid and pitney bowes weren’t both things. Don your cloak, grab a stick, hang this on it, and then use the speaker for some ambiance music.
I got these last time. They sound surprisingly good for what I was expecting. (But the plastic poles that came with them absolutely blew, so don’t be mad they don’t come with these.)
I’d be more interested in these without the Bluetooth speaker function, especially since most of them that claim pairing functionality seem not to work without some sort of voodoo or blood sacrifice. But there are other options for me anyhow.
The first point was why pay for a speaker that I wouldn’t use, and is actually changing the physical form factor of a decorative light. Similarly, I don’t know that it would help the battery life.
What I meant with the Bluetooth pairing was specifically the multi-speaker pairing for a stereo or surround mode. Obviously basic Bluetooth functionality has become more and more straightforward in the slightly more than a decade in which it has been commonly used. I am quite pleased with my Sony over-ear Bluetooth cans (XM3), but those are a single device, and not trying to tether multiple external devices into one system. Outside of expensive Sonos/HomePod, or the higher end offerings from LG or Logitech’s UE series, I have rarely seen that functionality actually, well, function…
Other options could include any number of flickering LEDs, whether powered by external battery packs (lithium, or replaceable AA, or similar), or via needing constant external power from a plug. If I’m not mistaken, I believe that there were solar “tiki torches” at Costco recently, which would cost similarly or perhaps a bit more, but with that price paying for a bump in quality, rather than a speaker. If that price is not to your liking, there are others on Amazon, or Ali Express if you’re feeling adventurous (and patient enough for that shipping experience).
(edible-deep-crocodile) Wow,they actually got 4 1/2 stars from 136 people on Amazon. I’m kind of surprised myself so I’ve got a friend that just Moved into new digs So this will be their housewarming present.
I got a pair of these in an IRK a whiles back (probably actually a fuku (sp?)) I like the fake flame for ambiance, the speakers are ok. They were worth the price of the IRK.
@stevetrigs I just got mine today and the instructions do say how to pair them together. If one is connected to my phone and I connect the other, the 1st one stops playing. I say it’s false advertising.
@jlennig You have to turn off bluetooth on the phone, pair the speakers together, the turn bluetooth back on on the phone and connect to the available speaker. From my one time doing it I think the one you hold the button on becomes secondary, so phone needs to connect to the other speaker.
@stevetrigs turn off bluetooth on phone, turn on both speakers, then press and hold the LED Flame on/off button 3-5 seconds and listen for a ding-dong sound.
Then you are ready to connect phone to speakers
@kevinrs@stevetrigs do you press both flame buttons? They are lightbulbs on my set. BTW, NO manual here, the youtubes for these are also useless. I’m getting annoyed.
@kevinrs@stevetrigs OK. Got it to work. Now to get it work again. One thing I noticed is that your phone should only be connected to ONE speaker. When that speaker plays, you press the light bulb button on the quiet one. I think. I tried replicating this procedure but now the damn things are permanently paired (I hopes)
@stevetrigs@ThatGuyTony Turns out that the way these work is the same as how things like earpods work, bluetooth spec only allows for connection to one, and that one can connect to the other. It’s stereo, phone sends both channels to speaker A, and A plays one channel and passes the other channel to speaker B. I did post a photo of the important part of the instructions in a reply most of the way up on this page
These are actually really nice speakers, appearance, apparent craftsmanship and functionality. Sounds is crisp…not very bass-heavy but clear even at loud volume. Pairing to my phone was a snap (of course), but pairing the two speakers together was a little sketchy. It worked eventually (finally got the Ding-Dong sound). I do not understand the ‘FM’ mode part as all I get is static and there doesn’t appear to be any reference to FM mode in the manual or no obvious way to hunt for or select a station. Overall they are exactly what I wanted for my backyard patio.
Okay Those Who Are Having Problems With These Speakers: some patient trial & error works (see above threads), do not drink or smoke anything while working on this, and the furthest apart from each other these things work is about 6-8 feet apart. Other than that, they’re perfect?
Received my speakers earlier this week & they work great! They’re plenty loud for the room I ordered them for (a bedroom), I actually have them on their lowest setting.
*Getting two separate speakers to sync to my Samsung Android phone was damn near impossible until I realized I had to use the “Media” app in my main settings page (simply swipe down from the top of your home screen in order to find it), after that everything worked fine!
@ThatGuyTony Looks like they are standard camera tripod mount type, some googling finds that that is 1/4-20 UNC threads, amazon has screws that are basically replacement parts for tripods, they have bolts, eye bolts, etc. I might add some to my cart, but haven’t thought of what I’d actually mount them to yet. I’m thinking a magnetic mount might be interesting, let you put the speakers on a car body for example with no worry about it falling.
@kevinrs Funny you should mention that. I have some crappy tripods (no, I did not get them from meh!), so I pulled them out and the speakers mount just fine to them. They do look kinda goofy with 3 legs, but out in the woods, a little beyond the campfire fire, might just work!
We have had challenges pairing the 2 speakers but today we were FINALLY successful! Based on other postings this is a common issue and hopefully the steps that worked for us will help you.
Both speakers should be OFF
Turn OFF Bluetooth on phone/device
Suggest labeling speakers #1 and #2 for future reference
Turn ON one speaker. You will hear “Bluetooth Mode”
Turn ON Bluetooth on your phone
Pair speaker to phone and you will then hear a ‘tone’ on the speaker indicating connection
Select something to play to be sure the speaker is connected and working
Turn ON Speaker #2 and you will hear “Bluetooth Mode”
When you are done, turn off Speaker #1 first then Speaker #2 and the next time you want to use the speakers they should pair together
IF Speaker #2 does not play, push and hold the Torch light button until you hear the tone play indicating connection. If the Torch button doesn’t connect the 2 speakers, try pressing the volume down sound button (minus sign) which we found works on some speakers.

SOUNDS like a bright purchase
@akadamia I see what you did there!
Too bad I don’t have a login for Salesforce. I wanted the manual.
[mod edit]

At midnight there was a link to the manual. It required a login to download.
I’d like to know if these are somewhat weather resistant.
Embarrassingly, I’m intrigued.
Wait, what’s up with the last picture? I don’t see Glenn or a baby arm or anything weird going on…
@stinks Does this product really need anything weird?
Is the meh wearhouse made out of Bluetooth speakers?
@Stonersh
Going back to basics
This not getting here by Halloween 2020, plus will it draw in big, that will then muffle the speaker sound.
@dtwsportsfan Huh???
@dtwsportsfan this is meh… it will probably draw in little or tiny…no idea what you’re talking about though.
@dtwsportsfan @Kerig3 probably meant bugs instead of big
@dtwsportsfan but the listing says it should be delivered well before Halloween…?
@Tubaryan12 - Good job on the typo decipher!
Ah, no. But I am enjoying that headphone twofer with the Tf card player built in.
@radi0j0hn Looks like this may also have a card slot built in
@kevinrs @radi0j0hn
I passed on that offer for 2 reasons:

Light a wireless flame speaker candle for Eddie van Halen!
Is that a 1/4x20 threaded insert? I can mount this on a tripod for some awesome tiki rave dancing? Toodley toot! The system is down!
POPSOCKETS! SPA KITS! POLLY POCKETS! AWESOME!
@fuzzmanmatt That’s why I tried to download the manual, to know the thread.
Now you have me thinking of The Cheat’s light switch raves! Thanks!
@fuzzmanmatt, I never thought about that! Just took the ones I got from the last sale, and I CAN CONFIRM that they do indeed fit.
(Which is great, because one of the cheap-ass poles I got with them already broke.)
@fuzzmanmatt Thanks for a perfect recommendation for a morning video for me to watch.

Products so strange, a weird picture would make them seem normal.

@arosiriak @yeppers Wow. Now that’s a thorough explanation.

Anybody know where to get some posts to screw this things onto?

Hey, what kind of CRAP is this that you can’t get a user manual with out some kind of hoop jumping!!! This is really annoying.
@rgd0912 Hi! The user manual is linked up at the top of this page. Here’s the link: User Manual

@Patrice Thank you so much, this worked!!!
