@anonasd electricity costs only 11 cents per kilowatt hour so rechargeable would still be cheaper in the long run, more environmentally and more convenient because you don’t have to open it to replace the battery.
@cengland0 My tracker uses a battery. That makes it waterproof and I can wear it at least six months without messing with it instead of taking it off every day to charge it. How is that a bad thing?
@Bumplepimp Bananas. It totally smells like bananas. It has a plastic band- I wear it loosely and wash it with soap and water when I wash my hands and I wear it in the shower. So the smell isn’t an issue.
These look like poorly made, absolutely hideous slap bracelets. It took my brain a moment to realize the open in the band was exactly opposite where I first assumed. I don’t usually put much thought into aesthetics, especially when it’s something more for function like a fitness tracker, but this is an inexcusable design failure.
Okay. Non-rechargable battery, app has 2.2 stars on play store, the only review it has on Amazon is 2 stars. I think I’d rather not buy one and stay lazy.

Basically get what you pay for. Battery died after 2 days, replaced with unknown age battery I had laying about. That died in 2 days, replaced with new energizer. I’ll see how that works. The app is poor. No real time updates. You have to sync each time you want to update the recorded data on band. Once you have synced, you have to force stop the app most of the time to get it to even open again. It just locks up with a white screen. According to Play Store the app has a fairly poor rating and you cannot use any other app to read this band. Don’t waste you money, spend a bit more and go for a brand with known good history. Google is your friend.
WHAT I would like. A notifier. Martian? No. I am a delivery driver, I can not hear ringing not feel vibrating phone in my pocket. No, I would destroy a phone on belt clip. No, I don’t want to work with a cockroach on my ear. I bought a wrist phone from a China site, finicky, bad tiny manual.
Ok. Now, a simple Bluetooth device that lets me know when I have phone activity, that is all. Thanks for reading.
@davido That’s what the Martian notifier does, plus tell time so you don’t have two things on your wrist. I don’t know of a simpler device on the market for that purpose.
@davido find a cheap Pebble online. company went under but they will still work indefinitely save for one or two features (e.g. its speech-to-text engine).
i love mine, i have the black and white version. very readable always-on screen, battery lasts roughly a week, and very configurable. i work as a garbage man, trust me, i think i might have had the same issues as you do. and the Pebble solves them.
@davido I paid less than $50 for my Asus ZenWatch 2. It’s a regular full-featured smart watch, manufactured by a well known technology company, and its running the latest Android Wear 2.0/Android 7 OS. I’m using it with my iPhone, but rumor has it these things work well with Android phones as well.
Alternatively, just get a simple car Bluetooth to FM adapter for about $10 on Amz or eBay. It plugs into the cigarette lighter/Aux power port of your vehicle and when the phone rings it rings through the vehicles radio.
It’s not about the steps…as the owner of a vivofit I can tell you the real joy is beating everyone in the weekly competitions on Garmin Connect…Counting steps is boring…walk around the block 5 times and there ya go…BUT, having the incentive to be number one in the contest?..it motivates you to walk 10 times around the block…save your money, save for a real fitness tracker…That is all…
Bought these on eBay and AliExpress for a buck each in black only. The batteries are 100 for 10 bucks on eBay so their cheap enough and work well, Nice stocking stuffers… Better color selection on Meh. Buy Buy Buy…
@Brasssong Sly Stallone said in an interview in his defunct SLY magazine that in all the ROCKY movies, and any other movie he has been in, NO ONE ever hit him harder than MR T did in Rocky 3…Love Sly…

Stocking stuffers? It’s not even Halloween yet.
Uses CR2032, not a rechargeable battery. Unbelievable considering the technology today.
@cengland0
$0.39 each on Amazon. Not bad if a battery will power the device for longer than a month or two.
@cengland0 When I saw that, I was like no.
@anonasd about 6 months
@anonasd that is cheap, but come on.
@mandirose
Hey, not bad! Slightly inconvenient, but $0.80 a year to power them may be cheaper per year than recharging.
@anonasd electricity costs only 11 cents per kilowatt hour so rechargeable would still be cheaper in the long run, more environmentally and more convenient because you don’t have to open it to replace the battery.
@mandirose According to the sole review on Amazon: 2 days.
@cengland0 My tracker uses a battery. That makes it waterproof and I can wear it at least six months without messing with it instead of taking it off every day to charge it. How is that a bad thing?
@sammydog01 But, What does it smell like???
@Bumplepimp Bananas. It totally smells like bananas. It has a plastic band- I wear it loosely and wash it with soap and water when I wash my hands and I wear it in the shower. So the smell isn’t an issue.
What if I’m not a communist and I measure distance in miles?
@wmbarr math.
1 km = 0.621371 miles
@Thumperchick Does that mean if I walk in American I don’t have to walk as far to go the same distance?
/image murica
@Thumperchick What if you stay up late to see what’s showing up on a one-deal-a-day site and measure distance in furlongs?
@awk That is exactly what it means.
@mehcuda67 Make up your own formula.
@Thumperchick IF 1 km = 0.621371 mi THEN 1 mi = km? Come on. Don’t leave us hanging!
@TechnicGeek 1 mi = 1.60934 km.
@Thumperchick Oh, now I see what you did there…
But I have a windows phone
@darkzrobe Not for long.
@darkzrobe We all have hardships in our lives – it’s nice to see you are open about yours.
@darkzrobe It was an awesome phone, never a problem.
@mfladd Shush you
@Tin_Foil It is a gift, not a hard ship
@Felyne Still in the “is” phase… One day I will have to put it down.
I could wear on one on all 4 limbs, and then toss the other in the trash, then shortly after that, throwing the rest in the trash
@truestalpaca should i mention the possible use on the fifth limb?
@hchavers but would that measure…“steps”?
Nay to the fitness trackers.
Yay to the Dragonball Z gif in the write up.

Hooray for failed European Tech!
Impressively high WTF factor in the writeup videos. Well done, er… Meh done, meh.
“This would make a great gift for my wife” said no husband ever. Single guys, take note.
Need to keep Bluetooth ON all the time( then pass…meh) or keeps track locally and syncs when connected (consider it) to app thru Bluetooth?
@givemehdeal According to the lone review (for 2 stars) at Amazon, you must sync manually when connected.
yeah… I got nuthin’
Okay. Non-rechargable battery, app has 2.2 stars on play store, the only review it has on Amazon is 2 stars. I think I’d rather not buy one and stay lazy.
@okeefen Just maintain a mental step count throughout your day. That way your brain gets a workout too.
Arnold was not Rocky Balboa…It was Sylvester
@sparkyfarad lol
@RiotDemon thats the joke.
@danlo I knew that, that’s why I laughed. Did you mean to tag @sparkyfarad?
Straight junk
@Stallion Straight junk? Is that an address?

@PhysAssist I too found this review helpful, but the counter did not increment. I think this site is broken.

@davido Check out the Misfit Shine 2. No I don’t work for them. They go on sale often.

@davido thanks to all.
Store these next to the rest of the candy .
@Viper1 First candy corn and then this? Nice agenda Meh!

Can’t wait for all the bundles from here on out to have one or five of these, so then I will really have a reason to not buy said bundle.
@Zcubed Candy corn and fitness trackers bundled on Irony Sunday?
Bought these on eBay and AliExpress for a buck each in black only. The batteries are 100 for 10 bucks on eBay so their cheap enough and work well, Nice stocking stuffers… Better color selection on Meh. Buy Buy Buy…
Gonna try this… just to track sleep patterns. If I get any good data, then I’ll spring for a real-deal tracker.
troubled-knowing-air
Did you seriously just invoke Christmas in mid-October? HO! HO! NO!
Pro Tip: the smartphone that you need to sync these cheap bands with can count the steps with accelerator just like the band… without the band.
Over The Top:

What awful universe was that video taken from? I want out.
