My two cents: I just received this lamp from the most current Mehrathon and I have to say, I love it. Takes up very little of my smallish desk, No lamp cord to get in the way and having able to be used as a flashlight is a nice bonus. Would recommend!
@squishybrain, I searched in vain for the lumens to simply get an idea of how bright they can be [@ the highest setting], but the meh team didn’t say much if anythin 'bout the light, brightness, lumens, and it never said whether you could make a margarita with the lamp, or the short ass lamp stand! Now, I’m so pissed off I can’t hardly decide to Buy, or Not to Buy- so that’s the fn question now! Does the Flashlite get bright enuff to find lost stuff, e.g., keys, pens, etc, from under my sofa, or to look inside ones nose for pesty hairs, or look outside for kittens, dogs, burglars, or your wife who wandered outside drunk!! That’s what I wanna know,…not how fn much they bend, or how easy 1 magnetically sticks to fridge!!
Google sez LEDs cough up 75-115 lumens per watt. This flashlight has a 1200mAh battery at 3.8V nominal (li-ion standard assumption) which gives it 4.56Wh of energy. It illuminates for 2 hours at max brightness implying a burn rate of 2.28 watts. Finally, we have the information to derive the lumens you seek: 170 - 250 lumens
@Kyeh@medz@werehatrack Lol, maybe both? In any case, that so-called potato salad looks like it was made for feet, cuz it certainly wasn’t made for eating!
Given the specs provided, and factoring in some fudging over the tendency for blue sky numbers in this category, I’m going to guess that these things have about a one and a half watt LED in them. That will provide a useful level of light in a small area like a desk, but as a flashlight it’s kind of puny.
@werehatrack Not sure how bright it is but my 60+ year old eyes can easily read by it’s light from several feet away. When used as a flashlight, it illuminates my entire 12’ X 12’ home office. Not nearly as bright as a tactical flashlight but it seems bright enough to get around with in the event of a power outage. Hope this helps.
@squishybrain@werehatrack, Are you saying you need a Flashlite to make your way about your 12’x12’ bathroom,… I mean, your ittsy bittsy office¿? Man, wait until ya get 75 like I am,…I’m just sayin!! JSYK, I really knew what you meant, I was just pulling at your skirt & practicing me sarcasm!!
@soxnabox@werehatrack, He, or she said Lumens, not Lupins, but if this comment was simply your sarcasm beautifully & so nicely displayed then, no correction needed & My Bad!!
@1DisabledWarVet It seemed like it could have been a Highwayman’s demand… “Stand and deliver! Hand over all of your lumens! I have two USB cables! Well, one of them’s not plugged in but the other one is, and I’m not afraid to charge something!”
1200mah? They could have put a single 18650 in there and easily doubled it. Also you have to connect it by usb to charge and base just physically holds it? Does it work plugged in? If you leave it plugged in all the time will it kill the tiny battery?
I’m confused WHY Meh would use their price comparison for a site that you can clearly do the whole price haggling thing. At Mercari they’ve got 1 listed for $26 plus $4.78 to ship and who knows how low the seller is willing to go. I don’t even see any that are being sold in a set of 2. Amazon has them as low as $15 (for 1) so I guess it’s obvious WHY they didn’t link to them, especially with 2 day free shipping and all. (w/prime of course)
A FEW DAYS AGO , the first time around with these pretty neat lights I did a lot of looking around. At Amazon they’re offering one for $15 that comes with a free additional clip and that seems like it would come in handy.
They’ve also got something similar that charges your phone and other devices.
@mehvid1
I’m not sure what you’re saying about the 75% minimum if you bundle. You’d need to find at least 2 (or sometimes 3) items from that particular seller that you want to buy. In this case they only have 1 of these LED lights so it’s not helpful in Mehs comparison of the 2 for whatever price they were selling them for.
If you use the “offer” option you’re able to ask/offer the seller up to 20% less for the item. Also, you can speak with them through the message option and offer even less and when it’s done that way you aren’t committed to the sale should they accept your offer like you are when you use the “offer” option.
I’m on overload, too much thinking! Lol
@Lynnerizer Oh, I don’t know. I was just trying to see the lowest price I could pay for one and then quoting their policy on how low it could go since you seemed to imply there was no “floor.” But now I see you’re talking about another option - msg’ing the seller - as a workaround. Interesting. I’ve never used Mercari so this is all new to me.
Sorry if I contributed to overthinking, I have a tendency to do that to ppl, I’m afraid.

The month of the Mehrathon that keeps getting barfed back up continues
@werehatrack Can we officially change the name to the month of Ralph?
I feel like I’ve already clicked “meh” on all of this months products already.
@fuzzmanmatt If the rest of the month is anything like the past couple of days, you probably have.
My two cents: I just received this lamp from the most current Mehrathon and I have to say, I love it. Takes up very little of my smallish desk, No lamp cord to get in the way and having able to be used as a flashlight is a nice bonus. Would recommend!
@squishybrain I bought some in the Mehrathon, too. I’m kinda irked that they are cheaper now. I haven’t even gotten mine yet!
@squishybrain
Thanks for the recommendation. You just convinced me.

@1DisabledWarVet It’s sold out now anyway, so you’re safe.

@mediocrebot @medz Huh? Yuck.
@medz @werehatrack @Kyeh That woman(?) needs to fire her manicurist AND her personal chef!
@ircon96 @medz @werehatrack Maybe it’s some new beauty treatment we haven’t heard about yet. Or a fetish!?
@Kyeh @medz @werehatrack Lol, maybe both? In any case, that so-called potato salad looks like it was made for feet, cuz it certainly wasn’t made for eating!
@ircon96 @Kyeh @medz @werehatrack, fetish, I can kinda believe, but a treatment, No, I Can’t Go For That,…No Can Do!! {Hall & Oats- July 4th, 2011}
@ircon96 @Kyeh @medz @werehatrack I think that is the traditional Italian method for making insalata di patate.

@Lynnerizer
You piqued my interest in the Mercari possibility, so I tried to see what would happen & this is the result:
“The minimum offer amount is set at 75% of the listing price. For bundle offers, there is no minimum offer amount.”
@mehvid1

@werehatrack
sold out? it’s 6:42 am here - not that I was going to buy them, but Meh sold enough of them to sell out?
Not that I care about these but did they have like 12 available how is this sold out? MEH
@zacks Looks like they sold 129 of them, which is not exactly a huge lot. I suspect that a dozen more will get released for VMPs at the usual time.
@werehatrack @zacks Oopsies on my behalf – available again just in case @zacks warms up to them
It’s 0928 here, and I don’t see “Sold Out”.
@Mandamm @troy fixed his oopsie so we can buy them again.
If we want to. I might buy a pair, but only if they work while being charged.
@hamjudo @Mandamm @troy Mine works when I’m charging it.
@squishybrain @troy
I have a question about the wall mount - is it adhesive, or do you screw it in?
@Kyeh @troy Adhesive!
@Kyeh @squishybrain @troy Well, screw that!
@squishybrain @troy Thanks!

Over at MorningSave you can buy this now for $24, even though it’s sold out here at MEH. What was the MEH price?
$19 on Sidedeal
@Chronicle
Dang! It was $30(-1 cent). How rude.
@Chronicle Oh wait - that’s for just one lamp. This was for two.
