I bought the one with the interchangeable color ring on morning save. Sounded ok, but it kept skipping like a bad CD. Not sure if it was the adapter or the speaker. Didn’t have an aux cable to try the speaker without the adapter. Tried a different phone, same problem. Ended up with a refund.
@clonetek Any of them. You can get the two receivers for $6 or you can get that same deal plus two speakers for $2 more ($1 each speaker) for a grand total of $8.
Already selling out, damn! I like the rotatey one because it’s got the extra composite video out, one more thing that I’ll NEVER USE. AWESOME! In for the pair!
But honestly, I’ve got plenty of aux cords, and the bluetooth receiver will be nice for an old Bose dock that DOESN’T sound like ass.
Less than 100 sold and two styles sold out already. Hopefully these will all sell out and we can get something new. And cheap. Less than $10. Please and thank you.
The only fucking point of a speaker dock was to charge your phone while you sleep and have it act like an alarm clock in the morning. Now you can’t charge your phone on it - so you’ve made them even more worthless Meh!
Hmm, my car has a 30-pin connector to the radio (yes, car is a pretty old 2006 model, so this was before lightning connectors). I wonder if this will work. I doubt it. But for $8 I say let’s find out!
And man I have a lot of speaker docks at this point. Heck I even have one bluetooth cube thing that I’ve never even opened.
i still have my ipod from college & still use it with a sound dock. it has all my music on it. my current iphone doesn’t have any!
the ipod only works when it’s plugged into a power source as the battery’s shot but since i never walk anywhere anymore (rip) it’s not an issue. when i lost my original bose sounddock to a giant house fire a few years back i actually sought out a new (old) one on ebay to replace it so i could continue using that old as hell ipod.
Am I the only one that just bought the adapters? Not even for a buck a piece are those docks worth it but I do have some quality docks around here that it be nice to use without the auxiliary cable.
@cinoclav I bought the ones with an auxiliary in early this morning; they’ll probably sound better than the thrift store speakers (pre-Y2K beige) on my desk, at least.
Picked up some to try.
My high dollar pioneer radio in my truck will do Bluetooth phone, DVD, satellite, navigation…hell everything BUT Bluetooth music. It does however have an iPod input, and I actually have an old 80 gig iPod in the glove box with tons of music on it…but I want to listen to my new music on my phone (android) damnit…and absolutely don’t want to deal with itunes ever again.
I still use a clippy iPod Nano with a 30-pin connector, circa 2010. I can’t stick my phone to my shirt while I do dishes, so it’s still got that advantage.
Or… I did, anyway, but now that I don’t have roommates, I use a tall bluetooth speaker that I got in a fuko last year. It’s actually pretty nice, for what I paid. And its name is Craig!
Bought just the 2 BT receivers as I have a super old (FireWire era) iPod speaker that sounds fantastic (Griffin Amplifi). Didn’t expect them to work as most newer 30-pin accessories don’t. But I’ll be damned if they didn’t work like a charm. Great buy.

Wow those are some HORRIBLE REVIEWS!
Not lightning
@sohmageek that’s what the adapter is for. ?
I can’t tell what’s crappier - the products or the description.
What the shit yo
Speaker docks! But it’s not Friday anymore.
@viciousterra OMG. SDS!
@viciousterra It’s still Friday central, mountain, and pacific time.
@cengland0 yeah but it doesnt count. SDF is Dead. Long live SDS!
I can’t get all of them. Only 3??? I call shenanigans.
@sohmageek You know what, have at it if you want it. I changed it so you can get all of 'em now.
@sohmageek
here you go
I like how the whole thing with the write-up is about bringing the tech back from the dead and the brand is iLive.
And I thought you finally sold out of these same speaker docks you’ve been peddling between here and Morning Save for forever. My mistake.

My eyes… they cry
Crap, the only one that’s worth a damn is the clock radio one and it’s the first to sell out.
@cengland0 my sentiment entirely.
@cengland0 Thats the one i was gonna get.
“If you’ve already tossed your old 30-pin stuff you can get a pair of shitty wireless speaker docks for a buck apiece”
Which one was a buck apiece?
@clonetek Any of them. You can get the two receivers for $6 or you can get that same deal plus two speakers for $2 more ($1 each speaker) for a grand total of $8.
@cengland0 oh… I guess im way too drunk to figure that out.

@smigit2002 De vorm may attack at any time. Ve must deal wit eet.
@awk vat da fak?
You have one more day to please me in April, Meh.
@awk And what happens when they fail?
@awk You could go with my route. I’ve pleased myself pretty much every day in April. Don’t rely on others, just get it done yourself!

@JonCBK don’t see why it shouldn’t work (and it’s really only $6 since you only need the adapters…)
@JonCBK jeez, 2006 is considered ‘pretty old’ for a car now? my car is a '99!
Just bought myself 2 FM radios!

@Oneroundrobb :-\ I’ve changed my mind. The reviews were bad enough to make me reconsider. I’m sorry Meh I’ll try not to cancel any more orders…
@Oneroundrobb Nice magic tricks, heart turned into cockandballs!

One step closer to the speaker dock knife.
What one gets for consumption of silicon apples.
At least Meh is being honest this time. You don’t see Woot or any other deal site admitting that they’re selling crap!
@Furbdog Woot did before.
http://www.woot.com/offers/worlds-crappiest-projector
Not to mention they still sell bags of crap.
@narfcake Umm that was in 2009, when Woot was still cool
/8ball Was Woot ever “cool”?
Outlook not so good
Well, there’s your answer, @troy. And remember, The Magic 8 ball was one of the (former) board members!
Question of the day… iTunes…it’s the bane of my existence. Just had to say it. I digress.
@Felyne Where’s the question in there?

morning ramblings complete, results tallied: meh.
I thought about it. But meh…

@narfcake I guess I would’ve considered those and taken them to work but they were gone almost immediately.
@narfcake My thrift store speaker docks are a Klipsch and a Bose.
Wish there was a “Seriously?!?” Button sometimes. Meh just isn’t expressive enough.
Picked up some to try.

@currawong I have one of those clippy guys- Apple sent it to me when my gen 1 nano got recalled. It lives in my glove compartment.
You should have called this the Great Paper Weight sale…

Anyone get these to work?
Tried them both on a sony dream machine… nadda.
Tried them both on a stem clock radio… nadda.
Do they work on any 40pin dock?
