@radar5 These are promo items that IdeaStage.com offers to slap company logos onto. meh’s price comparison link points there. For whatever reason, companies didn’t want to spend $12 - $15 for these and so meh stepped in.
Don’t downplay a 5000mAh battery backup. Most people are using ones that are 2-4 times as big, but never use more than 1/4 of it before they can recharge, so they are carrying a battery and the weight thereof they don’t need.
I plan to use this as a portable extension for my hiking headlamp on 2-3 night hiking trips. Carry both if I think I need more juice…or my 10000mAh one etc. With the clip and the included cable it pairs well with my NU25 headlamp.
@tightwad These look like the 5000 mAH ones I have picked up multiple of at Five Below (for $5), but just in a slightly different waterproof case. If that is the case, one thing to note about these is that the USB-C is INPUT only, and you can only charge your own device with the USB-A port. Despite them being 5000 mAh and most phones being that or less, I’d say from usage they will give you anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 charge on your phone.
@lewknukem@tightwad well that would be bad. Even though we know of limited capacity, I can’t imagine why USB-C would not be an output even at limited V.
But this site has a history of selling powerbankspeakerdockscandycorn
Where some outputs only work as inputs and others the other way around.
@lewknukem@pmarin Photo shows it charging a phone from each port, so I assume the USB-C is output as well. I am disappointed I am not also getting Candy Corn with mine, that would be amazing. can @mediocrebot make that happen?
@Barc777 I thought so, but now I’m not sure.
You can use the cheap (non-mountaineer-certified) carabiner clips but I sort-of assumed these had a plastic flex clip.

@IndifferentDude
…This old man came rolling home.
Use case?
Charging up your iPhone while diving for quarters at your local community pool?
Clip clap AI is for whack sacks.
12 watt… the power! it burns!
wait.
no, no it doesn’t. 12 watt?!?
That’s what she said!
Looks good for taking on outdoors adventures when there’s no AC outlet nearby.
From the description it can get “a little wet”. That sounds precise…a Lithium battery in water, what could go wrong?
@Zott IPX5 means that it should be totally fine with getting water spilled on it, but isn’t designed to be fully submerged.
Looks like these are promo items companies would slap their logo on and give away. I don’t usually have the best results with them.

Hahaha! I laughed out loud, so thanks for that.
So… you can charge two phones halfway???
@MrJazz sounds infinitely preferable to two dead phones. But yeah, don’t think I need this.
Quart size baggie and my old charger…problem solved!

Does the “clip” actually open and close, or is it just a hole that a clip can close around?

@Barc777 @pmarin Clip opens, per the images where you can see the hinge mechanism.
